GoogleWe were tenants in a property managed by Walmsley for 2 years and found them to be very professional, friendly, and fair. Kim and Sian were very good in terms of their level of communication and their professional attitude. If you're a landlord that wants a diligent letting agent who will fix problems quickly and also keep your tenants happy then I'd recommend you come here.

GoogleI stayed in a rented property managed by Walmsley and would like to mention that the experience has been excellent. The team is very professional, true to work, transparent and organized. I never faced any challenges during a 30 month stay and would recommend Walmsley to anyone looking for a property in and around Reading. Some names to quote - Beth, Janet...keep doing the great work!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. We moved into a flat in 2022 and instantly noticed it had not been cleaned. We sent an email to Warmsleys stating some of the issues; black dust around the skirtings, bed, sofa, and tv units, black stained worn carpets, crumbs in the oven, traces of human blood in the property, limescale covered worktops, broken lightbulbs, and a strong stench of smoke throughout the property. The email response we got did not offer for a cleaner to come in, they just wrote that we wouldn’t have to get the flat professionally cleaned upon checkout. Quite the opposite has happened.. DAY OF CHECKOUT: We receive an email from Leona saying we owe £200 for a professional clean and replacement bulbs. This was after we told them we had gone above and beyond their requirement and we hired in a cleaner, because we wanted to leave it nice for the next people, so that they didn’t have to move into somewhere as filthy as we had to. But apparently, this wasn’t good enough and she “missed” some areas. The photos they sent back are laughable - one of which included a 1mm ball of white fluff? I’ve also attached a photo of the oven as we left it, which apparently needs a second clean? After several emails back and forth, they still aren’t dropping the cleaning bill. If you want your deposit back, avoid Warmsleys at all costs. I have rented for 10 years, and I have never lost a deposit nor been treated so appallingly by a letting agency.

Walmsley lettings in reading are the most dishonest and misleading agent I have ever let with. Upon check in, we took many photos of the property, but were advised by our agent Lauren that we didn’t need to be so worried about being charged for every little thing, as walmsleys aren’t like some of the other agents that screw people over. We were also provided with pictures of how the property should look, taken on a 20 year old digital camera…. The property was filthy, thick dust was around the skirtings, we were given a blood stained mattress protector, a 3 legged table and dirty Crockery - we were told by the agent that we HAD to keep all these items in the flat - even the blood stained mattress protector?! Upon check out, Walmsleys seem to have found the funds for an IPhone 15 with flash to take photos of EVERY TINY spec of dust in the property, even though they expect us to move into a property in such a terrible condition. Their check out clerk used flash photography and zoom on every spec of dust, yet when we moved in the check in report was made using no zoom, no flash and a terrible camera. Walmsleys will continue contributing to the terrible state of the lettings market unless someone does something about them. We are yet to reach a resolution

GoogleGetting a property with Walmsley was a very smooth process. Lots of help along the way with any queries that I had and made sure that everything was perfect ready for moving in day. A very thorough inventory document was presented to me at the property and the service received by Beth was excellent and very helpful from start to finish. Would recommend using this agency.

GoogleWe began renting as students and Walmsley refused to do digital document signing when our past 4 landlords/ estate agents were able to do this perfectly fine with no problems. One of us had to cancel our holiday in order to fly back to attend the signing which is a large financial burden especially when we're students. When we moved in, there were some noticeable problems with the property which is pretty common when renting. Walmsley assured us they would get these problems addressed promptly. However we've been renting this property for almost 2 months now and a large handful of these simple and urgent problems still have not been sorted. My previous landlords/ estate agents would normally get these kinds of issues sorted out in less than a day. Every time we contact Walmsley they respond with "we're disputing these issues with the previous tenants". Instead of Walmsley taking full responsibility of this dispute, they burdening us with these issues when it has absolutely nothing to do with us.
