We are looking to sell a house in Treforest, Pontypridd, South Wales and asked Darlows to value it for us. My wife and I were very impressed with the professionalism of Gayle who came to value the property. She contacted us via text the day before to remind us of our appointment and then phoned an hour or so before to check it was still okay for her to come. She was friendly and explained what would happen next. She took photos and said that she would get everything ready if we wanted to precede with the sale via the company. We had another estate agent booked so we thought we should get their opinion first. However they didn't turn up and every time we phoned all we got was an answerphone message. So we cancelled them and went with Darlows, although to be honest we felt so well looked after we would have probably gone with them anyway.

We're being harassed by phone to extend…

We're being harassed by phone to extend our contract prematurely, but are faced with radio silence by email when we ask them to confirm what our contractual obligations are... they've been ignoring us for a month now. My partner and I work full time jobs so are unable to take their calls, we've told them numerous times that our preferred method of communication is email, but they'd rather bully us over the phone into renewing our contract early.We're happy with the property, but are fed up with the lack of professionalism shown by Darlows. If we decide not to extend, it'll be because we're fed up of Darlows, not because there is any issues with the property.We're not asking for anything out of the ordinary, we just want to know contractually when we need to let them know if we're going to extend the contract and what our options are. Can we move onto a rolling contract or extend for a different length of time? e.g. 6 months.They are ignoring all these questions and are trying to strong-arm us into signing for another 12 months, MONTHS before our contract says we have to decide by.

I viewed a property and second viewing with Jennifer, and found her to be informative on the house, but also she showed value in hearing more about myself as a client and what I was looking for. The team at Darlows in Pontypridd have been excellent throughout the selling (and buying) process. They've always been available to advise and kept us well informed throughout. They've tolerated a number of my rants and later my constant calls for reassurance as we waited for exchange. Didn't think I'd say this but they certainly earned their fees! Jackie in particular has the patience of a saint and was our go-to individual throughout the process (just under a year). The whole team was always up-front and honest and didn't resort to BS. Jackie's advice was always shrewd and spot-on particularly as the completion date closed. I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone selling, buying or both. The whole selling and buying process is an absolute nightmare. Having the Darlows team behind us made it bearable. Thank you.

They done their very best and with the house almost gone, I look forward to my next chapter.
