If I could give 0 stars I would. I am a NHS surgeon in training and agreed with Haart to let my property. I will give praise where it is due. The first praise would be the tenants selected. They were professionals and did not default on their payments. With branches nationwide, I chose them to let my property assuming they would be most reliable. I was offered 3 property inspections per year to entice me to market with Haart. The photos used for the initial marketing were very poor and the rooms were shown to be very dark. During this period, no offers were made. As a result, I was advised to lower the letting price pcm. However, when I requested the photos to be taken again, interest started immediately. I would have expected an estate agent to have better knowledge on property marketing instead of a novice pointing this out. For the first few months customer service was good as there was an assigned manager in the head office dealing with my property. Unfortunately, Haart decided to transfer this responsibility to the local branches and appointed a property manager to continue the same role. That is when customer service fell to nothing short of appalling. The so called free inspections would take months to perform and I would have to chase the local branch repeated for this. Some of the damage and expenses incurred could have been prevented if the inspections were performed in due course. Being a surgeon, I would not always be free to phone them during office hours. If any emails were sent, these were either ignored or would have to be sent on more than one occasion to receive a reply, Finally when my tenants moved out, there was a dispute which I believe Haart were responsible for. I would be told one story and the tenants would be told something else. This has made it very difficult for me to trust them again and the tenants who moved out felt the same. This is to warn and caution other prospective landlords in case they fall in the same trap.

I have been with Haart Letting agents from the very beginning of my landlord journey. Initially I chose their services as they were efficient, explained everything I needed to do during and after the initial set up and managed to guide me through the whole experience whilst my employment took me all around the UK and worldwide. We had some up’s and down’s along the way with miscommunications and repairs not being expedited timely and this led to my withdrawing from their fully managed contract to a rent collection only service. This was to my detriment as I encountered a few tenants that mistook my good will for a chance to leave owing rent or worse leaving my property in such a state that it took me a lot of time and money to rectify the mess. With Covid reducing much of the interaction with the letting agency the communications between us became strained with messages not being answered and queries being ignored. I started to consider whether to withdraw from Haart completely and find an alternative letting agent. However, after a call to Haart Lettings (Plymouth) with Henrietta K a few months ago to discuss some alterations to my contract and again a few weeks later with her colleague Amy M it has restored my faith in Haarts’ exceptional support and advise. I was no longer talking to faceless employees’ miles away with no ability to share local knowledge, experience, or participate in genuine conversations, who understand landlords and appreciate the tenant’s concerns. These ladies are the A team. Thank you for providing such an efficient and outstanding service.

A good service from Haart when letting my property. As a new landlord I was unsure exactly what I needed to do; Rebecca talked me through the process clearly and took time to answer all my questions. I was keen to find the right tenant and Sean was able to give me good feedback after viewings and I felt I could trust Haart to find the right person. It did take time but I feel this was worth it and was kept updated throughout the process.
