I have never in my life been treated with so little professionalism as I have at Chancellors. They made errors on our rent agreement not once but THREE times, causing us to have to resign the agreement the DAY BEFORE we were meant to move in. They repeatedly got the email of one of the tenants wrong, so they repeatedly missed out on documentation. They did not enforce the mandatory legal checks on the landlord prior to renting out the property, so we were left without awareness of the fire safety certification, the electrical safety certification, or even if our deposit had been registered until after we had moved in to the property and were simply told to ‘avoid using electricity’ until the landlord had done so. On top of this they used checks and procedures I have never experienced when renting a property before. Jordan, Charlotte, Scarlett and Danielle provided a terrible service all round, and left us stranded by their own lack of organisation. DO NOT USE CHANCELLOR’S!

We just moved out of a property managed by chancellors, the agency and most of the staff working there are extremely incapable, downright unhelpful, with the exception of Isabelle Smyth - Senior Property Manager, so this 5 star goes to her and her only. She remained kind, polite and professional at all situations, was super helpful and where all others failed went out of her way to assist us with our queries. She deserves the recognition, if it wasn't for her we would have had a much worse experience than we did. Thanks Isabelle!

I recently used chancellors estate agents to move to one of there rented property’s. My dealing was with Declan Hartigan ,Who was very informed very helpful and welcoming. Very professional throughout the whole process keeping me informed with a personal touch. It's always a nice surprise when somebody remembers your name considering the amount of people they have to deal with. Chancellors East Oxford - Nathan Tan My partner and I have recently had the extreme pleasure of working with Nathan Tan from Chancellors East Oxford, a second time since moving to Oxford 3 years ago. Nathan is such an amazing person to deal with, very professional and always willing to go out of his way (on more than one occasion) to make sure we found our new home. Renting with dogs is always a challenge, but with Nathan at our side, the process was not stressful and in the end our needs and those of our dogs were met. In looking to sell my house in East Oxford I visited various agents to obtain quotations. At Chancellors I encountered Joe Worsell who took me through the process quickly and clearly, and worked out a straightforward quotation on the spot. I was impressed with his professionalism and candour and decided to engage Chancellors as the sole agent in selling the property. An open day was arranged in short order and although it did not produce an immediate sale a steady trickle of viewings eventually produced an acceptable offer and the sale was concluded within four months of the initial conversation. Along the route Joe Worsell has been accessible to answer queries that have arisen, and the whole experience has felt as honest and pain-free as I could have wished.

Very impressed with the work of the whole Chancellors team in East Oxford. They had fantastic knowledge of the local market and were therefore able to market our house really well, enabling a quick sale at a price we were delighted with. The whole team were extremely professional and couldn't have been more helpful. We also bought our new house from them and they were great in helping arrange additional viewings. Estate agents sometimes get a bad reputation but we couldn't fault the work of the East Oxford team and would like to thank Joe, Paul and Ciara in particular for their work in helping us move.

I highly recommend Ciara Flaherty. She did an excellent job!!! I am a first time buyer and put offer for the apartment which gone through initially fine at the day of final inspection and exchange I struggled with issues. I doubt we would have made it through the purchase without Ciara Flaherty of the East Oxford Branch. She chased everything up for us and stayed in constant communication, got on top of everything incredibly quickly and made what was becoming an incredibly painful and frustrating experience bearable. Me, my husband and our daughter just moved yesterday to our new flat. I can't belive all process was so quick and not as complicated as I first thought. What a pleasant experience! I went into the Henley branch and spoke to Jon, a very helpful employee for your Henley area. I needed some assistance in my property search and I was very impressed with your employees knowledge of the area, not only places/areas within my budget but also how close the houses were to everything else I would need to be around or near my new home, schools, shops etc! I'm in a bit of a rush as I am moving to the area for a job and knew nothing about Henley and surrounding suburbs. Whilst I was in the branch I was comfortable the whole time and did not feel pressured at all, which is refreshing for an estate agents! I left feeling like I had real direction on what was now within my means and will be back to arrange viewings next time I am in the area! A great experience overall!

Renting from Chancellors East Oxford was one of the worst experiences I've had with a company. Having signed a short let Chancellors gave us a single month's notice after one month's rental, citing the landlord's desire to have us vacate. When we queried this, as it's in contravention of the 2 month period given to Assured Shorthold Tenancies, we were told that our contract was not in this category. Chancellors had just made up a random housing contract that aimed to deprive tenants of the protection offered by UK law, and refused to accept my insistence that this was the case. They refused to protect our deposit, which is also illegal. I had to make a storm on public media and complain to their central office before I got to someone who knew what the law was, and who would behave properly, fulfilling their obligations. They protected our deposit, acknowledged the status of our tenancy and refunded our initial fee. When we got in touch with the landlord directly they were startled to find that we had been given notice, and contacted Chancellors to insist that we could stay for longer. It seems like Chancellors were just seeking the fees. And it cast suspicion on their behaviour towards the previous tenants, who had also left without wanting to. Had they been sold the same trick? Late in our tenancy, when the landlord wished to sell the house, they arranged for numerous visits by prospective buyers, surveyors, etc. without informing us. We aimed to facilitate these visits, but on some occasions weren't able to agree to be in for an appointment, and didn't want them to enter without us present. On one occasion, they were on the point of illegally entering the house with their key when my partner got to the door. In other instances they arranged appointments and then harassed us to let them in without having given any notice. When I insisted that this was unfair and illegal, they made it clear that we were an inconvenience to their sale and as renters were considered beneath legal protection, respect or politeness. Chancellors East Oxford combine ignorance, greed and malevolence in a poisonous combination, and I'm sorry ever to have had the misfortune of encountering them. My partner and I spent countless hours in tears during this period, and several more on the phone to the homelessness charity Shelter, who helped us. I detest Chancellors East Oxford, and recommend you never venture anywhere near, especially as a rental customer.

Paul is an excellent communicator and kept us up-to-date throughout the process. When an initial offer fell through, he was in touch to let us know that he would find us what we were looking for. He was professional and efficient whilst also showing that he cared and wanted to achieve the best result for both the buyer and vendor.
