Very good all round service

Very good all round service. Staff were friendly and helpful, apart from time we did a viewing and the agent, a lady who had a Newcastle accent was rather rude in her approach towards us, but apart from her rather terse approach, everyone else was very helpful and friendly.I found them a little pricey, but did sell my property very quickly, which is the name of the game, so can’t complain. They would have got the full 5*s if it wasn’t for that one agent we experienced.

Very disappointed and shocked at how little communication there was; we had to ring them for feedback from viewings. They overvalued our property which left us unable to sell and we therefore lost months in the process. This seems be their modus operandi: (1) they persuad you to sign on as a customer by saying your property is worth thousands more than it is. (2) You find you cannot sell it at that price and so they then get you to reduce the price. Don't be fooled by this cheap trick sellers! We only had 2 viewings in 11 weeks! They promised accompanied viewings, but we had to carry out both of them. We could have done with more help and expertise considering we had not sold for 18 years but we were left completely in the dark floundering around like dying fish.

Followed up by the number of showings and then the activity post accepting an offer. My couple of words of advice relate to when I showed the purchasers around the house and discussed very important aspects that I knew as the owner. Very happy - a competent, efficient, friendly company

This was quite a complicated sale. From beginning to end the staff at Thomas Brown were brilliant. Their advice on pricing proved spot on. They found a buyer quickly. Their communication was excellent - I was kept fully informed at every step. When problems arose that threatened to derail the sale, they kept everybody onside and steered it through to a safe completion. A very competent company, and very pleasant staff to deal with. Would happily recommend to anyone.

I recently brought my place through Thomas Brown Orpington agency. I would never recommend them to anyone after this experience: 1) As a first time buyer: with min knowledge on key transaction process I got only 1 set of keys in hand : and the estate agent dint knew himself that other set was posted until I asked them and they cut me down and had to force them to talk to seller. 2) Shower head broke on first day of I moved in to house. And I get reply from then agency that seller takes no responsibility of that - it was my job to check it - (No good will- they said it might be pulled - which was unacceptable comment . when no one cannot even reach my hand until the fixed head top as it was that high up. Its basic common sense any would have after seeing the pics I sent them). I felt the agency had the responsibility to talk sensible with seller and sort it as.Both the seller and buyer should be treated with same respect. 3) Asked the agency if they can reach out to seller for any basic info about previous gas or electric providers just to make a switch. I was just bluntly asked to go and talk to my solicitors. I initially gave them good review after my transaction, but once the transaction was done their behaviour was absolutely commercial . And way of dealing with small initial things was very absurd and unacceptable. I felt there is no basic morale. Very unpleasant experience

All staff are highly professional and have excellent customer support skills. The firm has excellent local knowledge of the housing stock. Impressive selling skills/techniques in comparison to others we experienced. The sale of our property had a couple of hiccups. They were very supportive and gave us sound advice. They have a dedicated member of staff with conveyancing background. She handled after sale chasing up of the parties for a smooth and speedy completion. She gave us weekly updates. Thomas Brown even gave us good advice when we were not buying through them! Really grateful to every single one of them.

Excellent estate agents

From the first visit to discuss their services and valuation, to the photographs and viewings, they couldn’t have been better. They really came into their own during the progression period where Helen fascilitated all the necessary negotiations. The buyers mortgage took extraordinarily long and their legal conveyancers were amateurish at best yet Helen took it all in her stride and with good humour making the whole process less painful. Had the people the buyer used been even half as professional as Helen the transaction would’ve competed much sooner. I couldn’t recommend this team more highly.
