Worst Company ever. Please trust the reviews and don't go with them I ignored the reviews and had to pay the price. They will not help you in anyway what so ever. They have the worst customer service. When I moved in the house the oven and Cooking hob shorted out the electricity and I could not cook as it was electric. it took them 2 weeks to sort that out by sending them thousands of emails and calling everyday. In the end they also took huge amount of money from my deposit without any reason. they are clearly gonna charge you so much money practically they are stealing. Please trust all the reviews and never do business with this company even if you have to live on the street its gonna be better then getting anything from them. Worst Worst Worst company ever.

I have rented via these muppets in the past...10 years ago! and they clearly haven't changed and it galls me they are still in business!! When I ended my tenancy, they charged me £25 (Back then!) to replace one light bulb! for a flat I left spotless. Now I'm looking to rent again and was appalled to find they are looking to charge £350 per person (me and my partner, so that's £700!) for references. Interesting what was said earlier in these reviews. Clearly still on the make. Landlords and potential tenants - AVOID!!!

I am a landlord and have have worked with Martin & Co for over 15 years now. In the very early years the systems and processes were a little immature but for at least a decade now I have found them to be very professional and responsive. Managing properties, or rather peoples' homes and for the landlords important assets, can be tricky at the best of times, and the team have done a consistently good job.

They won't contact you even if you will be moving tomorrow. Even if you asked them to make the check-in in the morning 2 months in advance, they initially said everything is fine (note they won's say OK) but finally say to you it is they that decide on the date and time, and you 'not to book any removals until we have confirmed your move in date and times'. That's what they told me one working day before my moving. How the hell is it possible for anyone to book a removal service one day before moving! Oh yes, they just don't care coz it's your business.

Martin & Co. are the worst estate agents I have ever dealt with. I thought that student letting agents could be bad even the worst student letting agents I dealt with were angelic by comparison. Martin & Co. make promises they have no intention of keeping and often outright lie simply to get you to go away for a bit. During the initial viewing we pointed out that the carpets were dirty (near grey when they are meant to be cream) and the kitchen tap was broken, these were promised to be fixed before moving in. When we moved in, neither had been addressed. After 2 months of repeatedly visiting and calling, the tap was fixed but (another month later) we were told the landlord would not clean the carpets mid tenancy. Every time any work is needing to be done, it has taken far longer than it should have. They have also lost a key to my apartment. It took Martin & Co over a month to admit this, after we asked why they were refusing to use it for managerial visits. Do not let any properties represented by this company. While some of their properties are nice, you will eventually need repair work carried out and they won't. This will at time frustrate you to the point that you will pay your own money for what they should be doing/done. I have been promised that I will be paid back but afterwards Martin & Co deny ever saying this. You will not be able to trust anything they tell you.

Having been accepted into university late I missed out on the opportunity of securing accommodation and a friend of mine had previously used Martin&Co before and suggested I give them a call. I called the office and phone was answered by a lovely lady who was really helpful on the phone and arranged for me to view some properties at very short notice. Would definitely recommend them and would use them in the future.

It's ran by children pretending to be adults. Unfortunately for their "customers" they are dealing with things that affect peoples everyday lives. Rude, uncooperative, unhelpful and untruthful is how I would best describe their "customer service" Avoid. I wish I had. Oh and be warned. They will steal your deposit. They use a company to "clean" who are independent but in fact are owned by Martin and co.

When it comes to deposit claim cleanliness becomes a priority but that is not the case when moving in as the house was very unkempt. Managing director was very rude , unprofessional and unhelpful.
