GoogleI sold my flat with W.H. Brown and buying with a different estate agent. Daniel.S who was dealing with my sale was great. Due to the scenario of the property we were buying I needed things moving quick and updates, Daniel was very quick to email back with information, or even requesting I could chase to help. I can not fault how he helped and always ready to aid and answer.
Thank you Daniel.S

TrustpilotFantastic turnaround in Lettings
I have had a very difficult relationship with WH Brown over my years as a professional landlord and considered them to be among the worst agents in my area .However they really have got their act together, in recent times, due to a change in Management in Lettings starting with Izabela and latterly with Olivia .Olivia has been fantastic not only has she done what she said, she has achieved more than 30% more rent than I was getting and a new tenant was found interviewed and signed up within a week with no hassle or inconvenience to me .Thanks for making my work life easier Olivia I cant recommend you enough and won't hesitate in using WH Browns in future .

GoogleZach R and Fabio A have given great customer service and have been such a reliable, helpful team. Zach worked with us to find a property, and succeeded despite the difficulties our situation posed. Both of these staff members have answered any and all of our questions and have made the horrible house finding experience so much quicker and easier. Thank you William H Brown!

TrustpilotThey Only Care About Making Money, Not their Landlord, Not Their Tenants
The Norwich Branch is the worst!! This company gave me tenancy but on the start day of tenancy I was made wait the whole day and I was given the keys only at 6PM. I found another poor tenant waiting outside their office at 6 PM to collect her keys. So its something they do it with everyone. Secondly, I needed their letter as my proof of address (on top of my tenancy agreement) stating that I am living in their property from xxxx date. This is because within a week of my move I didn't have any utility bills with me as my second proof of address. I requested a letter from WH Brown. They made me wait all day again and then just before closing the office they said they can't promise when they can give it and also with attitude that- "This is something we do not do, but we are doing it for you". Wow really?? Land Lord and letting agents do provide letters to their tenants should the tenant is required to proof their address. Anyway, why was I then told the whole day that it will soon be emailed to me but at the end "I can't promise when it will be emailed to you"? So unprofessional. I took time off from work to go to school next day to complete school admission. They don't take responsibilities of their mistake and improve it, instead they blame their unprofessional service on you and make you feel it was your mistake to request any letter, help or service from them. They are my 3rd letting agent in the UK and I have never encountered such attitude and unprofessional-ism from my 2 previous letting agents! In fact my previous letting agents were very helpful to me. WH Brown Norwich branch seemed to only care about their business and money. They have no empathy, they ignore you once you become their tenant, they show attitude when you call them. They do not seem to care for and serve the community. Shame!

GoogleI recently purchased my first home through this branch of W H Brown. This is not something I have ever had to do so I was very unsure on how the process works. Giles Wilkinson and Philip Burrows answered all my questions and worries. They made the whole process feel a lot less stressful and smoother. I would definitely recommend and use them again when I next move.

TrustpilotUnprofressional and tell lies to getβ¦
Unprofressional and tell lies to get you to sign. We rented a house that was with them but also with another estate agent (weird) they advertised it as one price on right move with no deposits and they tried to change the prices after we signed. Promised us the house was going to be painted and plastered before we moved in and when we moved in it was a horror show, including mouldy food still in the fridge! Baring in mind this was the middle of a pandemic. When we called to complain we were told they no longer worked with the other company and did not deal with this property at all anymore. Keys were lost in their offices when we went to move in, and just a total lack of organisation or care for their tenants. A year later when we move out surprise surprise it is them that want the keys back to rent the house out again.Unless you are desperate for a house I would avoid!

TrustpilotLet down and disappointed
After careful consideration I decided to use the estate agent william h Brown to sell my house. After signing the agreement I was waiting 2 weeks for the photographs which I thought was way to long. When house finally went live It sold within a few days. After some weeks I heard nothing I was also using their solicitors Black's. My house was in joint names but I was the main name and stressed I would like all correspondence. I understand it has to be sent to both but it was all sent to my daughter from solicitor which she didn't notice as it was in her spam email. This delayed us by 2 weeks I was very angry as william brown had given them the details. I received no explanation so I dealt with Black's solicitor if I wanted updates etc the were absolutely brilliant. For the money estate agent charged I expected better service. I was not going to give a review however after weeks of completion I received a call off william brown asking if I lived at my old address and would I be interested in selling!!! I can't believe they still had me in their books and did not know I had completed what utter horrible and inconsiderate service. Hopefully I will not be selling in the future but will think very careful about who will sell my house.

GoogleMyself and my partner have been looking to move to Norwich from London as I am due to start at NNUH. We have been finding house hunting quite difficult as myself and my partner work full time in London. We have been struggling with our house search until we spoke to Brian. He was very patient and understanding and helped us with our search. I am sure that we will find our perfect home with W.H Brown, thanks to Brian! It has been hard to find agents with compassion and understanding who have their clientβs best interest in mind which we think is so important in this field as people come to you to find a place they could call home.

GoogleThe following is what I have received from the staff here:
-An apprentice called Rory, who was proud of his work but incredibly rude and unprofessional, he never picked up his phone or got back to me even though he said he would.
-He forced me to find 8 individual people as guarantors since his answer on guarantor requirements changed every single time, alongside that himself and the manager Luke did not believe that I had a brother that existed or that my father had died, even though they were told from the start we were ready to show proof for this, they weren't interested nor did they care.
-I was also told by Rory a month before moving in that everything was sorted, only to find out on our "move in date" that nothing was done legally ,meaning that we had to pay for two houses since our move in date was pushed back.
Through a time of grief the member Rory was an actual child who acted with zero care or responsibility, and that through my time of grief he refused to take his job seriously, I believe it's easier for teenagers like him to show off and be proud of their job instead of doing it by earning it.
-A "manager" who refused to look into this even though he was contacted directly, who also presented little care or refused to give solutions, honestly I don't understand how this man was allowed this position in the first place.
The only staff member who was an absolute delight was Brian. He noticed everything that had gone wrong, and immediately put on a friendly smile, explained everything directly to us and helped with all the problems we had. He immediately put out flames in 24 hours that Rory and the "manager" couldn't do in a month, where they were simply making us chase our own tail in the month of grief instead of explaining anything to us. I don't understand how Brian wasn't made the manager since in our experience he is the only person that kept this agency afloat. I hope he gets the recognition he deserves because if I were to go with William H Brown ever again, it will only be through Brian. and nobody else.
I hope Rory learns to grow up and take his job seriously, instead of blowing up his own ego only for it to evidently blow up in his face, furthermore It's upsetting that the manager followed in an apprentice's footsteps in presenting this as well, since after asking our friends who are also agents in Norwich, their face wasn't pleasant when I explained these two names to them.
Other than that I hope Brian has a lovely day :)

GoogleLuke and Rory were so quick, the internal process and efficiency of the team meant my property was let the day after advertising. They had filtered potential tenants to find the right ones for my property. They think of the bigger picture which means they do checks upfront allowing tenants to potentially be in a property sooner unlike most other agencies. They are very good communicators and let you know everything that's happening. Brilliant job couldn't have asked for anything more. GoogleAfter searching for a uni house with very specific requirements, Brian and Lydia were able to give us highly professional and in-depth viewings of three perfectly suitable properties. GoogleA big thank you to Diane and Alice of the Select Team. Their assistance in the sale process was invaluable and they covered issues we had not thought about or had been aware of. My comment that "for the first time ever I knew that I had benefited from the full value of the fees charged" was genuine and reinforced by their active assistance for our property search to arrange difficult viewings elsewhere. In fact, their fee was considerably less than the best competition when we asked for quotes for service. An excellent service that made our lives considerably easier and I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. TrustpilotFeb up with this continuing disturbance
Can you get your data deleted by this firm. A blatant and continued misuse of my data and no request or threat under GDPR works. William h brown in Norwich did nothing for a month whilst I was away on holiday when they were supposedly valuing my property and preparing sale or auction details. Thank goodness Steve Pymm was more pro active and effected a very quick sale. Three years on and the dimbos at WHB still won't delete my data - useless!!!!!!

Please Please avoid the sudbury branch it seems that they put sold houses showing them as for sale and even keep up for the sale boards . I called about a property that has just been advertised on Rightmove only to be told it was sold two weeks ago and this is there internal process that they MUST advertise. This creates false advertising . Despite speaking to the Manager they feel what they are doing is correct , Rightmove is allowing this kind of behaviour.

TrustpilotAvoid - not even worthy of a 1*
Estimated reading time: 5 minutesIf you are a student, or a parent of a student, save yourself the aggravation and avoid William H Brown in Bank Plain, Norwich when searching for or choosing a student let. My son and fellow students took up a tenancy on a property in Norwich in September 2020.The property had not been quarantined prior to collection of the keys, and my son and his fellow students found it in a disgusting state: mould, stale tobacco odours, drinks cans strewn across the floor, stains on mattresses, food residues and signs of illegal drug use, to name but a few examples. Worse still, the inventory, which documented an inspection pertaining to the end of the previous tenancy (comprised of an extensive list and photographs), highlighted these cleanliness issues, damage and poor presentation.Despite this, nothing was done and moving in had to be deferred, inconvenience and added expense for those travelling from different counties, considering the resulting use of fuel and loss of earnings. All had to return home and William H Brown did not appear to care in the slightest, when it would have been common courtesy to notify them. When my son and his fellow tenants contacted William H Brown, they found their telephone calls e-mails slow to receive a response. When we wrote to the landlords directly to seek recourse, unsurprisingly, our correspondence went unanswered. It was only through my involvement, assertiveness and persistence that a cleaning contractor was organised by William H Brown and the management company to deep clean the property and a plumber/handyman to carry out remedial tasks. These should all have been addressed by William H Brown and the management company prior to issuance of the keys. It was their contractual obligation, not least because of being in the middle of a pandemic. It is worth stating at this point that the plumber/handyman, who has direct contact with the landlords, retains a key to the property. When he visited (not always with notice), he used his key to let himself in, even when at least one tenant was present to answer the door. After observations noted between the tenants (of him lingering at the property following completion of tasks and conversing with the neighbours regularly), the conclusion was drawn that he was not merely a plumber/handyman.Between William H Brown and the management company, they have been inept, reasoning that they would only know that the property required a deep clean if brought to their attention, which was strange considering the glaringly obvious issues of the aforesaid inventory and the fact that it was their responsibility to prepare the property for the new tenancy. Instead, they placed the onus on my son and his fellow tenants, even claiming at one point that there was no mention of the property requiring a deep clean. There was little by way of after care follow-up.They also had the audacity to justify their position by advising that, with over 700 rental properties to manage, they could not possibly know who was moving out or moving in. Whose responsibility was this, then? The tenants? Or the landlords who contracted with them to provide this service? And how is it that other companies manage their customer databases competently, including alerts for due dates? If ever an admission that they cannot cope with their workload, it is this. Anyone about to sign a contract should very much regard this as a red flag.To add insult to injury, the property (which, incidentally, the landlords seemed to care so little about) had to be returned in a better condition than it was found in order for my son and the other tenants to have any hope of receiving their deposits back in full. Please be under no illusion, this property was absolutely dire; not to put too fine a point on it, desperately in need of refurbishment and redecoration, not just a deep clean.Yet, quite unbelievably, in the checkout report, pre-existing issues were highlighted: a strong indication of a possible intention to apportion blame to those not responsible and to seek a way out of returning deposits in full. Thankfully, my son and fellow tenants took photographs, both on arrival and departure to safeguard their own interests. The behaviour of those involved who knowingly allowed the property to be released in this state for a new tenancy is, quite frankly, nothing short of crookery.
