Absolutely FRIGHTFUL service. E-mails rarely replied to, move-out date was changed last minute despite me showing evidence of the signed tenancy which stated otherwise, house was infested with hundreds of bees (dead and alive) upon arrival, ridiculous agency fee to get driven around the most stinking properties you've ever seen, absolutely NOT student friendly. Worst of all, sometimes no notice was given when maintenance was being carried out and you would walk out your room to a stranger in your face! The maintenance guy always took to taking a dump whilst working on our faulty shower, which he reckoned wasn't even broken. They will try to put you in the most embarrassing hovels they can find and pretend they're going quick to pressure you into buying. Walton Robinson - I am not interested in hearing your weak apology followed by reasons why I am wrong to leave a negative review, get back to scamming 1st year students.

Absolutely pathetic service from start to finish. No communication between them and the tenants, and for a student property we were not all able to fill out an inventory for our own rooms! Still no sign of our deposits either, after the tenancy ended on 11 July. Steer clear.

We instructed WR to handle the sale of our home a little over a week and a half ago and the service from start to finish has been absolutely outstanding. From the initial meeting with Jamie right through to the closure of the deal by Katie, we really couldn't have asked for more. It's a hard enough decision to make in selecting an agent to deal with the sale in the first instance however WR are clearly head an shoulders above the game when it comes to knowing their market. The communication, personal touch, fees, professionalism and above all else, honesty and integrity, are of the highest standard and we would wholeheartedly recommend Walton Robinson to anyone who is looking to sell their home. Thanks especially to Jamie and Katie, you have surpassed all expectations and we will certainly be recommending you to friends and family in the future. A & S

This is a highly non-reliable agent for renting. We filled in the deposite return form several times and didn't get our deposits back after a year. They excused once for losting the forms, another time by having a hand-over so the documents are lost again. So I don't recommond this agent if you're seeking for house. I will give negative star if I could. Don't say sorry, WR when you don't feel so. And don't tell me call xxxxxx when you don't even answer the phone. Interesting.

Booked to view a selection of properties, a viewing was arranged promptly which suited my busy lifestyle. Upon arriving, the representative of Walton Robinson, Alex, was incredibly helpful, professional and a fantastic representation of the company. We found a property which we liked, we were directed to the head office, located in the centre of Newcastle in which we were greeted by a plethora of kind, welcoming and helpful staff who made the experience even less stressful. Throughout the process I was helped by fantastic members of staff, with special reference to Chloe and Tan who were incredibly helpful. 10/10 would recommend to all!

Super deceptive agent! The rent is high! Agency fees are high! The deposit of several hundred pounds on the house will not be refunded after the stay! The third-party legal protection only lasts for more than two months, but they will delay it with you until this period is exceeded! Smart kids, please go directly to the student apartment reception to sign a contract! At least the agency fee is waived and the price is not raised! Like me so that more international students can see and avoid detours!

Please don't be mislead! Initially I rated this 5 starts and said it was amazing, but after going through the process a little more I can certainly tell you it isn't. I'm trying to keep this as honest as possible. Reserving the accommodation: This is great, it's fast and efficient. They'll show you to the accommodation, the accommodation looks fantastic and they'll sell it. Then it gets to signing about 8 documents, when I signed my documents most of them were drafts as they weren't finalised, this wasn't really an issue. What was an issue is not being able to keep a track of what you've signed, so I recommend saving them in a chronological order. After reservation: Please note, I do not live in the accommodation yet. So, at this stage you've signed all documents and are just waiting for it to hit the date where you can start living in the accommodation. During this stage I contacted WR a total of 28 times to find the internet speeds of my accommodation as well as several other questions, yes 28. The first dozen emails I sent to a senior manager came back with no reply despite read receipt being on. So I decided to call instead, whilst the more general questions were answered, the more specific questions about the accommodation itself weren't. To this day all I get is them saying, "oh the woman who deals with this place isn't in at the moment, I'll let her know to give you a ring back". But this 'ring back' doesn't happen. So honestly I've given up asking. Furthermore the reviews of the accommodation I'll live in next year are surprising! Two people said fire alarms keep going off and nothing has been done about it, repairs aren't being repaired. Then one says that water and internet keeps cutting out... This isn't something you'd want to hear when you're moving in soon. My final review of this company is 1, they lack in providing customer service and quite honestly the service they do provide isn't of a suitable enough standard.

1 star only because you can't give zero. Terrible company. Terrible agents. Arranged a number of viewings that were confirmed and then the agent didn't turn up at the time. After I rang them while at the property I was told it was no longer available. Time wasters.

They do have a good selection of properties, but be careful cause I've heard that recently agency fees have been extortionate this year and staff aren't always helpful. A few of them are great, but when we went to sign for our contract we were kept waiting for 30 mins before being told that someone had forgotten to book in our appointment and we had to go back a week later. When we went back the staff member was completely unaware that not all of us are signing the same contract and again we had to wait while they organised the paperwork. We love our house, but when we moved in we weren't given all of the keys which was a pain, however when things have needed fixing we just emailed and someone was round pretty sharpish to sort it out, for example the ignition on our cooker and the flusher on the toilet broke, vital stuff! But they dealt with it the next day :) Also final thing, when we signed for our house we were offered bottles of wine if we left Walton Robinons a 5 star review on facebook, which I felt was really unprofessional when they deal with lots of students. Oh and get your contract looked at, they had put in sneaky things such as, we wouldn't have got back the interest on our deposit when it was returned, but you can pull them up on it, they just don't expect it! Overall, nice houses for the most part, just be vigilant and if you don't get a reply to your issues, send them the email 5 times a day every day until they do reply :p

Walton Robinson have both been good and bad in areas! Positives are that we wanted to sign up for our property late in August instead of the original start time which they happily sorted out for us. Also the majority of us were actually out of the country at the time we needed to sign. The staff were very helpful in the fact that we might not reply for a few days. Eventually it was sorted! We did have some initial problems with the boiler timer not working. Which did get fixed however it was after winter so our heating bill was rather expensive! Also we wanted to move some furniture out of the house and we asked several times but it never got sorted so we had to just put it in the back garden. Also the were several items on our initial inventory which did not get sorted for a couple of months even after persistent emailing and contact with the office. However this was eventually sorted. Towards the end of our tenancy the dishwasher broke and there was a leak in the roof which was fixed the following day which was very impressive. I have actually gone with Walton Robinson again for my next property and would recommend them to any older student wanting a place in Heaton.

Absolutely appalling. Property management is unprofessional, unhelpful and extremely discourteous. The property rented was unfit to live in, a fact known by Walton Robinson given their offer to consider compensation. However at the end of tenancy, no compensation has been awarded. Mouldy properties and disgraceful service - avoid!

Such a poor experience. Move in date was over 2 months ago and still haven’t had the key fob for the car park, staff of Walton Robinson seem almost impossible to contact (don’t reply unless you call). Really bad customer service.

Jon · 14 September 2020

Agent replied

Hi Jon. I am sorry to see that you are having issues with your car park fob. Unfortunately there for security reasons there is always a limited amount fobs available. If a fob isn't returned by a previous tenant then there is quite a long procedure for us to follow in order to obtain a new fob. I have spoken to your Property Supervisor Gav, who has confirmed that he is doing all he can to move this along and is currently awaiting an update from the Block Management Agency. Thank you for your patience. Amy. WR.

I have been a landlord for over 10 years and recently my property was vacant for a number of months. I contacted the Walton and Robinson team and they were able to let it within a matter of days. I can't speak highly enough of the team they are reliable, efficient, and friendly. I'm thrilled with the service they have offered me and will continue to use them. I have always used the big well known agencies and been dissatisfied. I'm confident that Walton and Robinson will look after my property and keep me well informed. I can't speak highly enough of the service they have delivered to me.

Genuinely the worst letting agency I've ever been with. I've lived in a flat managed by them for a year and a half, and there are still things that've been broken since we moved in. After a year and four months we finally got some desk chairs that they are legally supposed to provide for student housing, however we still have a broken extractor fan, a boiler that works less than your average benefit thief (which also spews water into downstairs' flat,) plumbing that is always backed up, and a damp problem that the agent said "let me know if it gets any worse." It's damp, of course it will get worse. They also have a habit of arranging house viewings and not showing up without letting us know, as well as deciding the "24 hours notice" law is just a general guideline that they don't feel they need to abide by. 70% of the time when I email them I get a returned email notice with an internet server error, and when my emails actually do go through, 10% get replied to in the average time it takes to get a reply from your year 5 penpal, and the other 20% apparently just gets lost in the void. Also, as a side note, before we were tenants and were looking around flats with them, the agent showed us one particular flat and the keys to the rooms didn't seem to work. She then said "I'm not sure if we're in the right flat", so that was nice. Lovely little bit of breaking and entering to start your morning off.

Avoid at all costs, unprofessional, arrogant and defensive. They let themselves into your property without notice or cause, pass your details onto third parties and blatantly flaunt the law.... numerous illegalities in their tenancy agreement and are currently under investigation by numerous agencies.

Great helpful staff and a good selection of properties.it would be better if you could do all of the stages of the viewing and the contract with same person because it can cause some confusion with communication. But other than that no problems from my experience .

Major leaks causing the roof to almost collapse took 6 months to fix. Rest of the house was covered in mould with promises to fix ventilation issues never coming to function, despite waiting a year. WR refused to engage with our tenants' union, offered us a tiny amount of compensation, and took painfully long to reply. Worst letting agent in Newcastle. Avoid at all costs.
