I was unfortunate enough to be in a position where I ended up in a property managed by Northwood for 12 and a half years. To add to my misery, the branch owner DANIEL HARRIS bought the property that I was in around 6 years ago. Now this is where all of my problems really escalated. Daniel likes to use what can only be described as bullying tactics in order to force you into submission. Back in 2018, I had the audacity to raise a formal complaint to Northwood about the damp and mould. This had been a long standing issue since I moved in back in 2012. I escalated my concerns to the environmental health department. During their visit to my home, Daniel showed up. He proceeded to argue with the environmental health officer and accused me of causing the damp. After this visit, a workman came and put a bit of plasterboard on the roof in the pantry and used some anti mould paint. That was it. And so the damp and mould continued. Along with the this there were constant slugs and silver fish in the property. And I continued to complain. However, Daniel refused to address this properly and instead reluctantly sent a contractor to re paint the affected areas with mould paint. The bullying aspect comes in the form of threatened evictions and intimidation. If you can't afford a rental increase and ask if you can negotiate, he'll send you a section 21 notice. If you still don't agree, he'll send you a section 13 to legally force the increase. It's not the increases that cause me to leave such a scathing review. It's the way in which Daniel conducts himself. As a single mother with two young children, I was told on two occasions when I'd been served that I would end up in a dingy horrible BnB with my kids and it'd be my fault. So after having had enough of this bullying and berating from Daniel, I decided that should I receive another notice, I'll risk the horrible BnB. So at the start of 2024 when Daniel wanted to increase the rent by 25%, He was crafty and actually had the work done to fix the damp that should have been done YEARS ago. After that, I didnt agree to the rise, I was served and this time I let it play out. I'm now in a beautiful property with no damp, mould, slugs or silverfish! Even though they didnt maintain the property as they should have over the 12.5 years, they have had the cheek to claim almost all of my deposit! The man has literally no shame. Steer clear of any company that this man is affiliated with. You only have to google his name and Northwood Sale to see what people think of him.

Avoid this letting agency - WREXHAM branch. For over 5 years they've been extremely unprofessional, unresponsive , zero property maintenance...we had enough, property owner had enough and decided to end his contract with them. Now, they switched our energy supplier using our details, without consent ,never informed us, and created contracts incorrectly (even in the landlord’s name). As a result, our original deal with our energy supplier has been disrupted and we may end up paying more, all due to their actions. Unprofessional and careless.

We recently sold our house using Northwood Estate agents. From start to end they went above and beyond to make the sale of our house smooth. We cannot thank Leanne, Sadie, Sam and the team enough for the top class service they provided. From the respect and interest shown in our house to the commitment given to keep the sale process going as smoothly as they could was impressive. Leanne's interpersonal skills are very refined. She is diplomatic and caring yet knows when to say what needs to be said, including with us! The team is always at the end of the phone ready to help and offer advice. The patience and experience of the team is calming in the stressful process of sellling houses. Thank you all.

GoogleFrom initial viewing to getting keys everything was so easy to complete. Every staff member we have spoke to have been helpful and polite had a lovely house inspection with Ellen on Saturday first time we have met her but shes a lovely young lady who took time to see if we have any issues and then followed up by email.

If I could give a lower star review I would! Awful people and a useless company, we viewed a property, all set to move in, payed the fee for the checks and passed them with no issues, then we get a call to say we failed their in house checks! They never told us about these checks so after fighting with them we finally got a refund. We then found a new property which was much cheaper per month, my wife rang to book a viewing and they told her the property had gone, so she asked her dad to call them and they told him they could book him a viewing for the same property we were told is unavailable, so I spoke to them and managed to book a viewing, I then got another call from Northwood saying that they weren’t going to go ahead with our viewing, when I asked them why, they said it was because they had us on file and we didn’t pass their in house checks before so it would be a waste of their time. We explained that it was for a property that was £250 more per month than the new property we wanted to look at, he then said we would need a guarantor that earns more than £32400 a year, we told him our sister who earns £38000 a year would be a guarantor and then JAMES told us that we still couldn’t reach the affordability! They are thieves and liars! And JAMES is pompous and rude

GoogleUsed the West Road branch to buy and sell. Leanne, Olivia and Zoe are all so lovely, they were so efficient and helpful - Always there at the end of the phone or an email if You have any enquiries. Moving is stressful but these girls definitely helped to ease the process.

GoogleI can't recommend Northwood enough. Met with a few agents and Leanne was by far the most helpful and professional, making me feel at ease and taking time to answer all my questions and explain the process. Throughout the whole process the team, especially Jayne have been beyond helpful and available to answer any queries and helped the sale of my property go as smoothly as possible.

Very unhappy with this company so far. Flat hadn’t been clean prior to me moving in, it was absolutely disgusting. Upon moving I found numerous flats that needed repairing. I was asked to provide images of faults which I have done and it’s been over a month and I’m not getting replies to emails. I have now sent in a formal complaint advising that I will be getting environmental health and letting agent ombudsman involved to get this looked at and sorted. Don’t rent through this company, so wish I hadn’t.

They had the valuation, photographs and upload of our property turned round super quick, which helped with a very speedy sale of our home. I would give 0 stars if I could!Arranged for a virtual viewing in Liverpool and no one called both times. It was first rearranged after waiting an hour for them to call - we called the office and was told that someone would call us in a few minutes but no one did. Waited all day for the second time after rearranging for no one to call for us to virtually view. Me and my partner are from hull and so going back and forth to Liverpool is a lot between our work commitments. We even called to check at the time of the second viewing to ensure we wouldn’t be missed!No communication, false promises and definitely terrible customer service. We felt extremely undervalued and forgotten about. DO NOT RECOMMEND

This company lies to tenants puts lives in danger fails to maintain properties in time and I had to give a star to write this as a warning to anyone who is thinking of signing anything with them , the property I'm in is a house that was turned into 6 flats but the basement was constantly flooded due to it being built on a natural spring in the 1900 an as all things have lifespan this building is wrecked with stress signs showing and fractured walls and mould and electrical issues and false advertising of communal garden, windows that was never fitted properly and rooms that don't hold heat for more than 2 minutes, leaking taps smoke alarms that go off that nobody can shut off until maintenance chap turns up , constant damp smell, having to paint six times a year to stop over growing of mould,not one issue solved after 5 years of back and forth emails , they are scummy humans and wish they all get fined. After checking lifespan of the building it's spent it's 100 year life span and that's only when maintaining properly and as the basement has been constantly exposed to the elements it more than likely to be at the point of structural failure.

They always answered the endless phone calls and emails from us. They were always honest and helpful. I couldn't recommend them enough! 10 star from us!! Thank you Leanne, Olivia and Sadie!

I've been in the property business in the Basingstoke/Reading area for 47 years, yes that's right we first started letting property in early 1977. As you can imagine I have had "some" experience of dealing with agents for buying, selling and letting over the years, so I believe I have earned the right to comment. I have been using Northwoods in Basingstoke since about 2019 when I moved all of our rental properties to them having exhausted my patience with several other agents for a multitude of reasons. Since then I have found the Northwoods staff to be very professional, helpful and honest in all my dealings with them. In that five years plus I have never had any issue that couldn't be discussed and cleared up, as you would expect in any business relationship. In addition, to date I have not had any complaint from any of my tenants, with whom I keep good clear lines of communication and so would know very quickly if a tenant had a problem.All I can say to Northwoods Basingstoke is; Keep up the good work, you're doing a first class job.

GoogleWe have leased two separate properties through Northwood in the last 10 years, one in Winlaton and more recently one in Denton Burn. They are a truly local Estate Agents with a very professional, customer focussed team, in the agency, lead by Michaela Burn. Throughout the last year, during this dreadful pandemic Michaela and the Northwood team went to great lengths to ensure they were always there for us and they ensured their customers were able to access the services we needed to enable the arranging of repairs etc. Megan Galloway has been a real friend in need, overseeing any repairs needed and ensuring we were kept updated as repairs were progressed to completion. We are sad that we are now leaving our current property, but if we do need to lease another property in the future I will definitely use Northwood again.
