If you're renting, stay away from Northwood Benton, Newcastle. They are rogue and unprofessional. Go for some other reputable firm. Northwood treat their tenants like dirt, they forget the fact that it's the tenants who pay the rent and help pay off the landlord's mortgage. The agent gets a cut from the landlord when the tenant pays, so shouldn't good customer service be provided to the tenant? Not quite with Northwood. They're more focused on keeping the landlord happy and look the other way when the landlord does any violation but expect the tenant to fully comply. Stay well clear of this rogue agency, you'll regret it after you sign up with them. With such malpractices in place, don't give away your hard earned money to them as a tenant or as someone who wants to sell their property. Find a more ethical agency that deserves your money, you'll be doing the public a favour.

We had Northwood to manage two properties over the last 7-8 years but I can honestly say what a complete waste of time they say they will inspect and send you a report every three months this didn’t happen they allow contractors to carry out work without your permission and charge extortionate prices we said no pets and allowed three gunea pigs in a run in our newly carpeted living room that had the run of the house they allowed two snakes in a vivarium in the bedroom when they sold my property an agreed 1% commission was not applied and charged me more I also ended up selling the property myself as there sales representative did not show up for the prospective buys if I could give this company 0 stars I would anyone reading this please think twice about renting or buying please find another estate agent

This is a woeful estate agents. Where do I start just never rent a house from them! Poor attitude to tenants. Slow working to provide information. Come into your house without providing any information when they are coming. This includes unlocking the door where my wife was in a towel. House fixing is slow had a bathroom floor what dropped and it took 8 months of leaking to fix. When trying to get hold of them it’s impossible or it the I call you back but never do. I see they aren’t getting as many houses to let most likely due to there poor attitude across the board. Now waiting for my deposit back but nobody is calling back. Would add more but I be here all day typing about this shocking place. Stay wellClear

Northwood York is the worst agent in the world. I paid for the all the cleaning before checking out. They posted me a letter with the time of checking out which is 4:00 pm. The agent came at 3:00 pm and she was very unhappy at first when coming to the property. I don't know why. I was about to bring packed rubbish out at that time. I thought there was one hour ahead out checking out. She was mad at this and even asked me for the informing letter (are you professional with your work?). Then I showed her the letter and told her that she should come to the property at 4:00 pm, so don't be unhappy! This was sorted out. But she asked for more payment on the cleaning (just money, money and money). I have all the proofs about what I said here. I retain the right to pursue legal actions.

I haven't actually moved in yet, but so far have had no issues with this letting agent, and am due to move into a property in a few weeks.Dealing through Email has been a massive help, and having only one point of contact makes things easier as well.I have to give 4 stars as the deposit and application fees are a bit higher, but the deposit comes back and it wouldn't be free to apply for anywhere.Many, many thanks to Jadine Walbrook so far.

Rude, incompetent & incredibly unprofessional. Attempting to increase the rent by nearly 20% then when an agreement is reached, attempt to revoke and change the terms (estoppel). All staff members will speak to you like you’re dirt, with no regard for the stress that comes with potentially having to move out of your home. Avoid at all costs. God help this unscrupulous company when the Rent Reform Bill passes into law. I can’t see it ending well for them.

GoogleHad a fantastic experience dealing with this estate agent. Thanks to their staff 'Sadie Betteridge' who negotiated my offer with the vendor and actually delivered the deal for me. Her communication through out the different stages of the viewing process, negotiating process, legal process and to completion was the best I have ever seen as a property investor. I will strongly recommend her and the agent to anyone willing to buy or sell property, due to their fantastic customers service.

Rogue Letting Agent - Northwood CrawleyAvoid this agent at all costs. Crawley, Northwood purport to be a first rate letting agent, but the truth is, they are no more than a pseudo non-professional outfit, who have little genuine experience of managing property, customer services, or even the ability to comprehend their own written polices, instead, they are entirely focused on making as much money as they can from the vulnerable tenant and landlord. The best part of being locked into a contract that allowed them to take in excess of 29% of the rent each month for more than 18 moths of a 3 year contract, was to terminate it. Avoid their guaranteed rent scheme as its an utter rip off, the office staff are rude, unqualified and frequently incompetent. The franchise director, Peter Green is obsessed with money and will frequently dispute the smallest amount that is owed to a landlord, which on one occasion resulted in a row with his own lettings manager over an unpaid, legitimate £20 invoice. When I complained about the intolerable rudeness of his office manager, he chose to do nothing about it and there are plenty of other reviews on the WWW documenting the obtuse rudeness of Gemma Armstrong, who subsequently was promoted to Director - how inappropriate, disgraceful and shocking, and what a clever executive decision, Peter Green ? These individuals know so little about letting property, maintenance and running a professional company, let alone decent customer service, it beggars belief that they are still in business. The handover of my property was utterly disgraceful, mismanaged and unprofessional, and even though the damaged caused by the outgoing tenant, who damaged 50% of the window blinds, cracked a bath panel, left two lights hanging from the ceiling, damaged a garden ornament, scratched a kitchen worktop, left kitchen plinths damaged, and scratched the window in a door, cracked a garden storage box, and left the garden in an awful state, and removed items from the property, and caused damaged to rendered walls having installed equipment without permission, Northwood Crawley condoned all of this, as, unequivocally this is damage, and yet Megan Scannell had the audacity to call it all wear and tear - she clearly needs help to understand Northwood’s own printed policy, as all her listings contradict the published document on ‘Wear and Tear’, so very typical of Crawley Northwood, and this is further evidence that these very inexperienced people don’t have much clue, if anything, about what they are doing. They all frequently contradict each other too and they have no sense of continuity or ability to communicate. Typically, its all rather like Chinese whispers !The email I received following the hand-back, some 8 days after their tenant moved out, having assured me that my property would be handed back within three days, took them 8. Some 48 hours later, following their bogus investigation into the items of damage listed, I was sent an email containing a badly written list of cut and pasted paragraphs that made no logical sense, and I chose not to reply, and if I understood the drawl, £10.20 was offered as a settlement. I suggest they keep it and use it for staff training, as Peter Green clearly spends little on this, as demonstrated by the poorly informed staff he employs. So desperate are they for 5 star reviews, they will pay £10 for every 5 star review submitted, so maybe the £10 I have allowed them to keep, as its worth far more than £10 not to have no further communication with them. They could use it either for purchasing another review, or use it for the desperate staff training they all so urgently require. Northwood, Crawley have to be the most spurious and worst letting agent for miles, so don’t be taken in by the false impression they give. I would avoid on all honesty. Told me I had been accepted then days later came back saying they wanted nearly £150 as a holding fee to apply (to see if I would be accepted?) and would not get that back if not if it was my fault.Immediately came to read reviews on the company after that.Sounds like they had another tenant and were just trying to make a few quid. I imagine would have lots of ways on their terms and conditions not to repay that, especially reading these reviews the they do everything not to return deposits etc they aren’t gonna return a holding fee. After reading these reviews would not have sent it anyway. Total waste of time.

GoogleNorthwood were a fantastic choice when it came to selling our home! Sadie, Olivia and Leanne really went above and beyond to help and support us every step of the way. Starting all the way at the beginning when receiving a valuation to the final completion day, the girls were fully dedicated throughout the whole process. Communication was fantastic and they really did make us feel that we had a helping hand throughout!

NORTHWOOD PORTSMOUTH is by far this is the most horrible letting agent I have ever experienced. After viewing an apartment, Indicated my interest in the apartment only for them to request for every little tiny details about me and my partner (if possible they would have asked for my birth certificate) to send to the landlord for him/her to pick, and that took them another 5 days (after reaching out to them a lot of times) to get back to me that my application wasn’t successful.That being said, spoke to one of the staff on the phone about my concerns on 22/8/2024 and the lady was so rude. WORST LETTING AGENT EVER!!
