Great Sales Pitch, Very Poor Execution

Chose to go with Brown & Merry after a great buying experience years ago. Unfortunately appears times have changed! The initial consultation regarding the sale of our property was excellent, but unfortunately the experience declined significantly after we signed the contract.

I gave them my number.. Big Mistake.

I asked for an evaluation.. this was fine.. no problems.. but I chose a different agent and now 4 months later they still regularly phone me up, once even saying "hello , this is your estate agent".. errr NO... they are abusing the fact that I gave them my number and now I cannot get rid of them.. Wish I had never done so. I am now apart of their ' any phone call is work' policy. B&M are owned by connels and the BBC has a page about their dubious sales tactics. They have a tv show about it also.

Be careful with this agency…the agents are asking for part of deposit to “check your references “and they will tell you that you don’t pass and you will lose the money .They don’t provide you with information about the rejection which I find normal to have because you pay for them.Agent name that I deal is Eliot…very kind but also very sharp when you ask about explanations

An extremely poor service. It’s impossible to get a call back or update. The manager Matt is incredibly unprofessional and rude. I would never recommend them to buy or sell through. I recall after months of waiting around and the chain falling through getting an email letting me know if I didn’t like the way things were then they’d be happy to sell our property to someone else. The only way to speak with Matt is to make an appointment in his diary and physically go into the branch. Thankfully our seller reached out on Facebook to talk as even she couldn’t believe the lack of respect or service. Daisy is a real credit to this branch, she’s lovely, willing to help and will call to just check in even if there was no update to reassure us. Daisy is the only reason I held on with buying our new home so it’ll be a great loss for that branch whilst she is on maternity.

Then Lydia, i found her really pro active and great to deal with and that's coming from a self confessed control freak, so i have a tendency to micro manage the process but wasn't necessary. Absolute mess of a company

Absolute mess of a company ! Tried to view a house - they said they didn’t have the keys and would phone back when they had them . Never phoned back and although we repeatedly asked for an update was told nothing . House was then sold without any communication with us . When I eventually spoke to the branch manager he was very rude and abrupt and continually talked over me . Think twice about selling your house with them as this seller could have possibly had a higher offer !!

I used Mick as my mortgage broker for the purchase of my first property. I was pretty ignorant of what the process involves but he explained it all well and clearly and showed a real passion for his job. I just received call from them regarding my property that is on the market, the "young adult" that called me told me my photos are terrible and the marketing is really bad. when asked why, there of course, wasn't much of an answer. I just find this totally brazen and un-cooth to put down small independent agencies with no substance behind your claims that "your marketing is better" when it quite frankly, is definitely not.
