I feel that the experience was negative

I put my flat up for sale with my Foxtons, I was going to go with another agent but they were very pushy and said how they managed to sell better than anyone so I went with them. I was under the impression my flat would go straight up but after I signed the contract it took them 2 weeks to take photos and put them up, in the meantime they put up a video of the flat from a mid-term inspection where it looked absolutely disgusting. I had never seen this video and I don't see why it would be allowed to be put up without my permission, I asked for it to be removed, they didn't and it took them nearly the 2 weeks to remove it. The photos they took were adequate but not particularly great, I was pretty disappointed. I felt that the price was extremely over inflated (like all their prices) but respected they knew better than me, but when every single person gave feedback that it was way overpriced and no one showed any interest I became quite embarrassed. I found it very hard to contact my sales agent and just gave up most times after leaving numerous messages. I heard from my agent 10 times more before I signed with them than I did during my contract. When I gave notice 28 days before the end after having no interest, I was reminded how they are the number one and warned that going to another agent would not solve the issue. Their commission is so much more than everyone else but I feel my experience with their sales agent was extremely poor and I can't believe I had no interest in my nice flat. I feel I made a mistake going with them and would caution anyone thinking of them. Also I rented my flat with them for nearly 2 decades and my last tenant emailed them notice which they said they did not receive until the next day so they extended the end date to one day beyond the end of the month, they then charged me a management fee of £9 for the one day (and she paid £1 something rent for that one day). I will never rent with them again due to the complete lack of transparency with regards to money. (As for the excuse that the housing market is quiet I put my other property up for sale at the same time and it sold within 2 weeks, but then again the photos were really good and the price was reasonable).

Do not rent through Foxtons

If you are a renter, please do not use Foxtons. They are a scammy horrible company that only serves the interests of the landlord. They rented us an overpriced disgusting dump by using old out-of-date photos in the rental ad, and locked us into an abusively restrictive contract that made it impossible to leave the horrible dump that ruined my mental health. Do yourself a favour and stay away from these money hungry scammers.

Imogen has been helping us find our new home and she has been beyond fantastic. Not only is she knowledgeable and professional, she is also compassionate and understanding. No ask is too big and despite us being constantly late to appointments she is waiting for us with a smile. Extremely poor experience with Foxtons. We were left without proper cooking facilities for 25 days, which had a major impact on our daily life and forced us to spend extra money on food. A functioning cooker is a basic part of any home, yet this was not handled with the urgency it deserved.

Our experience has been extremely disappointing and unacceptable, particularly with Zak. He was very responsive until we signed the contract and made the payment, but afterwards all of our calls, messages, and emails were ignored for weeks, even for simple matters. I would strongly advise against using them; their service is the worst I have ever experienced.

I had spoke with one agent (I dont remember his name) from Foxton Wimbledon office and he was very demanding that we compromise our choices in order to find something appropriate by our taste. I was a bit upset as I liked what they offer but he was very pushy we compromise rent or location. Did not want to show us what we asked for. Saying it was not convenient for us.. I hang up. After that I did an enquiry for one of the properties I liked and Martin ( Foxton Wimbledon office) was the one that follow up. He had very professional approach. Listen to our demands and manage to fulfil all of them for good value of property, location and budged. Our agent was Martin from Foxton Wimbledon. He was very understanding of what we were looking for. He had many options to offer based on what we asked. Always kept in touch and making sure everything goes smoothly. I highly recommend him. If your looking into properties I recommend you ask for him. Thank you!!

I had contact with Martin from Foxtons Wimbledon, and he was simply amazing. Super reactive, he understood perfectly what I was looking for and suggested properties that met my criteria. I've recently started renting from Foxtons. They are both the letting agent and the managing agent. I have never paid so much for such a bad service. None of the extractor fans work, my heating doesnt work, the curtain rods are bent and now one has fallen off & luckily no one got hurt because they have taken so long to resolve the issues. As a landlord (don't hate me!) paying for a managed service, they tried to charge me £90 + vat to fix a meter door with two cable ties. This is typical, and I have to chase them repeatedly for everything. My tenants and I deserve better.

Having issues moving in to another property (through another Lettings Agency) I went to Foxtons for help in finding a new propert to let and I was contacted by Omar El-Sebai. In a tough market with a low supply of properties at the time, Omar was able to help me find the perfect flat to let with an immediate move-in date of less than a week which saved me a lot of money on hotels. Omar is one of the best lettings agents I have been in contact with. He is professional, customer service oriented (cares about the tenant) and listens to what the tenant wants/is looking for. I have been struggling to find a property to rent for the past 3 months despite tens of viewings and offers, but Zak completely turned this around with his unremarkable knowledge around the rental market and the properties he was in charge of. Not only was he was quick to respond to our enquiries, viewing requests, and offer status, he also gave us extremely helpful advice in regards to how to stay competitive in the market. My experience was positive and Foxtons were professional in handling the viewings, the sales negotiation and finally the exchange/completion. My agent was Sofia Whiter who I highly recommend.
