I completely agree with my husband’s review about Eddison White (Merton branch), our experience was deeply disappointing. After paying the holding deposit and completing all the steps, we were suddenly told that we failed the reference and would lose the deposit. Once the payment was made, the tone of communication changed completely, no empathy, no explanation, and no transparency. This situation affected our whole family. Even our 13-year-old daughter was so excited about the new house, she was already looking at schools in the area and planning her new routine. Having to tell her that the house wasn’t going to happen, and seeing her confusion, was heartbreaking. We were counting on that deposit to secure another property, and this has caused us unnecessary stress and frustration. I truly hope the agency reflects on how they handle situations like this, because behind every application, there’s a real family with dreams and plans.

Our experience with Eddison White was honestly heartbreaking. I was part of the application with my parents, and we were all really excited about the new house. We did everything right, paid the holding deposit and sent all the required documents through The Letting Hub as soon as possible. Then, without a clear explanation, we were told that we didn’t pass the reference and that the deposit wouldn’t be refunded. I was devastated. That same day, I had to go to work, and the first thing my manager asked was, “Did the house go through?” When I said no, I just burst into tears, I couldn’t stop crying. My manager ended up sending me home because I wasn’t able to focus or work at all. We were also counting on that money to pay the holding deposit for another property, so this situation caused not only emotional stress but also financial pressure on our family. It’s not just about the money, it’s about being treated with fairness, honesty, and empathy. I hope others think twice before going through this agency, because what happened to us should never happen to anyone else.

I used Eddison White while looking to rent a flat in my area. Every other real estate agent had told me that it would be impossible to find a decent flat in the area within my budget, but the agents at EW made it happen in no time! I rented through Eddison White a few years ago and the process was smooth (belated kudos to Emma), but as a first-time buyer I’m shocked at how much the service has declined. The agent was belittling on the initial call, dismissing our criteria and questioning whether we could afford to buy. At the viewing, things got worse: the agency told me they’d emailed earlier in the week to push the time back (without confirming our availability), yet the agent arrived 10 minutes late and gave a completely different excuse for the delay. The current tenant was still in the property and the agent spent most of the time talking with them instead of showing us around, so we couldn’t properly view the whole place. When we said we weren’t interested, he spoke almost exclusively to my partner and ignored me. He also promised to send more listings that afternoon, which never arrived. If your first impression is lateness, mixed-up communication, and unprofessional conduct, it’s not a good foundation for buying a home. We’ve decided not to use this agency.

I recently had a very disappointing experience with Edisson White, specifically with an agent named Emma. I was asked to come down to their office with my documents to confirm a property I was supposed to rent for the second time, for the same property. However, before I even had the chance to submit my documents the next day, I received an email stating that the property had been given to another person. This was incredibly frustrating, as I had been assured that the property was available for me. What made the situation even worse was the attitude of the agent, Emma. She was rude over the phone and showed no concern for the stress this caused me. I had already declined another property, which I was ready to pay the deposit for, based on the assumption that I had secured this one. Now, I am back to square one, having lost both opportunities. It is clear that Edisson White does not value their clients. The lack of communication and professionalism I experienced was unacceptable. I would not recommend their services to anyone looking for a reliable and respectful property agent.
