GoogleAbsolutely awful company now. The staff would rather argue than admit they have made a mistake. They don't return deposits within the stated time by law and you constantly have to chase. I was with them for 8 years and never had a problem until I was moving on. Happy to take your money but no customer service at all. Dissapointing really when they are a local estate agent. I always try to use local business but avoid these like the plague

GoogleHowland Jones exceeded our expectations by miles. The entire team was friendly, reliable and kept us updated throughout the entire move and we would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to move house. We were updated every week with the situation and they actively kept all solicitors on track throughout the move. GoogleI cannot fault Howland Jones service. Firstly, they have handled the rental of my property for over 8 years and have always been responsive and helpful with any issues that have arisen over the years. The team are very knowledgeable and always give landlords regular updates with valuable information. More recently I instructed them to deal with the sale and I can highly recommend their services. From the initial valuation and marketing to the regular contact in the later stages of the sale process they have been highly professional. They have made something which can be highly stressful much less so. GoogleAs a landlord once you terminate a contract with HJ within right, they become VERY rude and unresponsive, suddenly they are too busy. Not all landlords accept poor quick fix work done to their property. HJ send unqualified contractors to do poor and unnecessary repairs. It's all good when they are racking in money however when they owe you, they are the worst ever. Don't be fooled by 5 stars.NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism

We are proud of our 5 star reviews and have worked hard to achieve this from our clients. We are very disappointed to read your review, particularly as a) this is not our recollection of events and b) there has been no communication from you prior to this review to discuss and resolve any issues. We understand it can be frustrating when your preferences change from agreeing to a 12 month tenancy to wanting a 6 month tenancy so you can sell your property, but some months into the tenancy, this is not something the agent can change for you. The majority of repairs have been carried out by your own contractors but we are not aware of any issues with the works our contractors completed for you. If you would like to discuss the above further, we will be very happy to see if we can come to a mutually acceptable outcome, being mindful of the restraints set within the Tenant and Landlord Act 1985.

GoogleWe used Howland Jones to sell our house in Measham and were very happy with the whole team and the service we received. Having used other local agents previously I can say that there is a definite difference between HJ and others espevially with regard to communication. We recieved weekly updates during the initial period and also throughout the sales process so we always knew exactly what was happening when. Despite selling at a time when prices were under pressure we acheived just under our asking price after HJ supported the negotiations. Very happy with the service and would definaltey recommend.

GoogleHowland Estates I highly reccommend. We purchased a house through Jon & Rebecca, their help and guidance was much needed and appreciated with it being the biggest purchase of our lives. Even on the sale of our own property Howland Jones would take the call, make the call and go above & beyond what was expected of an estates agent adding a personal touch when at times we were stressed and worried, a phone call to jon sorted it all out. Still to the day over a year after purchase of the property they keep in touch with updates on the area, property value and more than that making sure we are happy with our home. We hope to continue a personal and professional relationship with Howland Jones.

GoogleSold my late fathers house through this agent. We had to get extensive work done due to poor building and the whole thing has taken 18 months. They found us great workmen and managed it for us as we live 100 miles away. GoogleTerrible experience recently dealing with this agent. Slow at replying to every query and issue that I had whilst I was renting a property from them. Delayed repaying my deposit and made deductions even when the house was in a better state when I moved out than when I moved in. I've spoken to several people who've had similar experiences and have struggled to get their deposit back. I certainly won't be using them again or recommending to anyone!

Dear Cassie. Whenever we can capture feedback on our services, we take full advantage of the opportunity to review, learn from the findings and implement change for the better. We can absolutely understand that you felt dissatisfied with the handling of repairs issues , namely that we did not always ensure you were kept informed as to the progress. We have reviewed the notes for each repair, and can see that in some cases there were delays for a number of reasons including contractors obtaining parts, and with securing permissions from the landlord. There were also delays on occasions with arranging for access to the property for contractor visits, when we were waiting for you to provide suitable dates and times. From this review we have identified the need for our Repairs team to make sure that any delays are notified to the tenants as promptly as possible. We are also investigating with our software provider the possibility of tenants being able to log in to our system to access the live repair notes (in a similar way to tracking a parcel with a courier, for example). You also talk in your review about your deposit being delayed. We agreed the items and costs with you following the closing inspection, which we then agreed with the landlord and processed to the DPS eleven (working) days after the closing date. We are disappointed that you feel we delayed this process, as we work very hard to be swift in these matters. It is clear that your expectations in terms of the time this process had taken, were not realistic, and in response to this finding we are now updating our guidance notes to tenants concerning deposits. We offer our sincere apologies for any distress you may have experienced relating to the repairs issues during your tenancy with us. We would also like to thank you for bringing this to our attention. We strive to continuously improve our service to tenants and your feedback has been very much taken on board.

GoogleHowland Jones found my new tenants within a couple of weeks (they seem very nice, though early days) The staff are always friendly, efficient and professional. In particular, they respond promptly to any queries from me and I believe they do the same with prospective tenants. Following up queries promptly without being pushy is very important, which they do well
