After being let down by more Estate Agents than I care to name, I walked into the Mann Lettings branch in Margate and was warmly greeted by Emma. Emma set me up with virtual tours and viewings within 12 hours of that first meeting, and Brad oversaw my viewings the very next day. All the staff are friendly, professional and cannot do enough for you. They understood my priorities right away, none of the usual deluge of emails of properties that are unsuitable, and their help and support saw me go from viewing to moving day in just 7 days! Lewisham branch were appalling. I offered on a house to buy but my offer was not put forward for three days despite being told that it had to be put forward to the vendors on the day it came in. I phoned several times and was repeatedly told that they were 'just about to put it to the vendors', but it was clear they were waiting for another offer from a buyer that was represented by a different agent (Kyle). I was in a proceedable position and came forward with a serious offer. Kyle was rude and unpleasant. Would avoid at all costs.

Deeply Disappointing Experience, Strood Mann Sales and Letting Agents

Our experience with Mann Sales and Letting Agents Strood has been deeply disappointing. As someone with experience in leadership, I can confidently say that the issues my family faced clearly stem from leadership, as the agency has failed to take accountability for their poor service. The signs were there from the very first calls and continued all the way through. Appointment punctuality and coordination were major issues from the beginning. Scheduled viewings were consistently delayed, leaving us in uncomfortable situations and forcing us to personally show prospective buyers around our property. This lack of punctuality and disregard for our concerns was unacceptable. This not only inconvenienced us but also left us feeling uncomfortable and vulnerable. Moreover, prospective buyers also expressed dissatisfaction with their poor experience e.g left waiting outside properties, unclear instructions and poor communication. Transparency regarding the terms of the sole agency contract was also lacking. Critical details, such as the length of the agreement, were not adequately discussed, leaving us feeling misled and questioning the integrity of the process. Furthermore, the advertising of our property on Rightmove and other platforms was subpar. We were left to request enhancements and updates, reflecting poorly on the agency's commitment to effective marketing. Despite our attempts to address these issues, the agency has refused to take responsibility and has closed ranks. Even after following the 'official' complaints process, they have refused to allow us to alter the length of the contract or even to move to a multi-agency agreement, which is a basic and straightforward solution that can easily be done and has been advised by other professionals in the industry. I strongly caution against entrusting your property sale to Mann Sales and Letting Agents Strood. Should you decide to proceed with them, heed this advice: never concede to a sole agency contract, demand meticulous attention to the advertising of your property, and scrutinise every detail of the contract, particularly its duration. I firmly advocate for a contract length of no more than 4 weeks or 28 days. Furthermore, be resolute in avoiding coercion into utilising their in-house financial services. Despite our repeated insistence on retaining our trusted brokers, Mann Co persistently pressured us until we were compelled to inquire whether our decision to use our own brokers would pose a problem, emphasising the importance of asserting your preferences firmly. Overall, our experience has been disappointing, and we hope our feedback prompts Mann Sales and Letting Agents to reassess their practices, processes, and procedures and strive for improvement in the future. Now, we find ourselves left to wait out the length of the contract as they refuse to alter it. As a family with two young children, aged 2 and 4, it's evident that our needs have been consistently overlooked and disregarded throughout this entire ordeal.

Was meant to view a property today only to find out its let agreed and no call to let me know and then when I call I find out they actually booked me into view a more expensive property. Good luck if you get susan sanderson to 'sort' out whatever needs doing. She takes about a month to write a letter and when she does, puts wrong details and asking her again to put right details, she ignores you. The landlord already confirmed to release a deposit, she wants to ask again and took over a month to ask even though it's already confirmed, still waiting. Plus was told to pay £150 to remove two items from property, was eventually charged £60 after getting family involved. Complete and utter waste of time and stress. Lazy incompetent company. Will never ever use again.

I had the absolute pleasure of dealing with both Tom and Joe at Mann during a rental search in Margate. How refreshing it is to deal with kind, fair, sensible, and very hardworking people during a rental process (and they massively stand out from the Thanet competition from my experience). They both really did go well beyond anything I have experienced previously and offer a concierge level of service. During a process of relocating from the North they were really accommodating and able to arrange video viewings and were so kind and flexible with our move in times due to our long journey down. Even after the move in (and without even being managing agents for this property) they have both been so helpful and responsive. I would highly recommend MANN for renting through and also for landlords. Thank you again Joe and Tom!

Fareham branch hide property issues to get you into a contract

I recently viewed a property in fareham from the Locks Heath branch based on some nice photos advertised online. When I got to the property I was advised I would have to submit an offer form quickly as the previous viewer wanted to rent the property. Due to this and the current market, I very quickly viewed the property, didn’t see any clear or obvious issues, so submitted an offer form and was successful. When I moved into the property 2 weeks later, the paint was falling off the walls, there was thick black mould behind the kitchen sink, the toilet was broken, the boiler was broken (took 12 days to fix) , and a very clear and obvious damp problem throughout which had been hidden when I viewed the property. When the toilet was fixed, some tiles were broken and this showed thick black mould behind the toilet too. I have repeatedly requested I be allowed to wind back the tenancy agreement only to basically be told to piss off because I’ve signed a 12 month tenancy. Do not use Mann, they don’t give a damn about you.

Worst estate agent (£1200 not refunded)

Worst estate agent, whole company is full of scam (its mortgage advice, solicitor panel). They have taken advance payment of £399 for solicitor search and £798 for mortgage for my potential buy. Later the seller pulled from process and I have asked for refund, but they are not refunding my money. This is worst company in the UK to deal with property, mortgage, solicitor panel.

A flat with wheelchair access.

I used Mann Lettings when I was looking for a flat to rent in the Margate area. I use a wheelchair so I needed a flat with access. With the help of Andy from the Margate office I found a place! Then Sue Sanders from the management team helped with the contracts and all the other problems with moving house. The whole experience has been easy and the team from Mann have made it easy and hassle free. On a scale of 1 to 5 I'd give the a 6 !
