Wing was great, he happily re-arranged to an earlier time at short notice to enable the viewing to go ahead. He followed up with an email with lots of useful information very promptly afterwards.

During our tenancy, Nicola help us a lot. Although the landlord is tough and hard to communicate, Nicola is really helpful and patient to resolve all the problem we faced. We really appreciate for her kindly help.
Hi Miley, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We will forward you’re kinds words to Nicola. Matt Goodwin

For the same reasons as kareena gave, as a renter, avoid at all costs. They have a complete lack of moral competency and they are more than happy to charge full rent when rooms within our property were inhabitable. Once again, avoid at all costs and go for another agency to avoid all the hassle when something out of your control goes wrong.
Alex - we do not manage your property. I think you know that this is the case because you pay your rent not to Goodwin Fish but to your landlord. I have spoken to ML and they have advised that they offered you a gesture of good will which you rejected. I am afraid that we do not have any authority over this matter.

Wing Yan was exceptionally helpful when taking us round flat viewings yesterday, he answered all our questions and was very thorough, he had obviously researched the flats beforehand.

Amy & the team at Deansgate Goodwin Fish have been amazing. Amy couldn’t have been more helpful and proactive in moving things along during our sale process and providing regular and informative updates. Would highly recommend, the best estate agents in town!!

They look the part with their deansgate address but they operate more like a dodgey student letting company from the 90s. I've read reviews here and seen my experience was not the only one, they tried to take a good chunk of my deposit, luckily there is a deposit scheme that protects tenants. They were also really incompetent when it came to fixing any problems in the apartment, including the main radiator in the living room over winter with a new born baby in the property. I would not recommend anyone to let through them
Anne Marie, I am very sorry to hear that you are unhappy. For clarity, your landlord was not happy with the way you returned the property to her. For this reason it was your landlord who claimed against your deposit. As you correctly say, the DPS adjudicated and awarded your deposit to be divided between your landlord and yourself. We, at Goodwin Fish, pride ourselves on our fair and professional approach to these matters and you were fully informed of how best to return the property at the end of the tenancy. As there was a disagreement between your landlord and yourself; I am happy that the matter was resolved correctly within the current deposit protection rules. Should you wish to discuss this matter further please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Matthew

0/5. A shame we haven’t been able to receive the same service as detailed in other reviews. Unprofessional throughout, ignores urgent work orders or emails and requires chasing every time. Rude and unprofessional responses and staff have made our final renting experience in Manchester awful! We have a flat in Castlefield and have had insufficient heating for the entire tenancy and this was only looked into to following a chaser email (after original work order was ignored for a week). 3 weeks later, we still have no heating (end of October) and both of us have been quite ill as we’re working from home all the time. In fairness, the landlord is very cheap however Goodwin Fish has done nothing to help our situation or move things along, despite the loft style apartment now being very cold in the winter months. A wealth of other problems occurred in the first few months of the tenancy and this has been probably the worst tenancy despite the nice looking flat overall and a healthy rental payment. Be careful and if you notice any initial problems, don’t ignore them and pull out while you can! Wish we had done the same.
Hi Jon and Maya Very sorry to hear both of your reviews. I have looked into your concerns about the heating in your property. I can see that you informed Goodwin Fish on the 8th October highlighting your concerns that the panel radiators in your modern city centre apartment may not be sufficient during the winter months. I can also see that a heating engineer attended your property and your landlord has agreed to supply and fit three new panel radiators. I can also see that you have been continuously updated on the progress with emails sent to you on the 13th, 16th and 19th of this month. For clarity, I can see that your landlord has agreed to complement the panel radiators you currently have and is just deciding which he would like to buy. I have to be honest, I am therefore rather confused as to how Goodwin Fish could have assisted you further, particularly in the current Covid -19 climate. However, please feel free to contact me directly should you have any more concerns.

Update following response to the review: now claims they’ve continuously updated us however these “updates” were provided after we continually chased them and even then the updates didn’t give us any further indication as to what was going on and whether they would be trying to progress it. Their problem reporting system notes that heating is an urgent issue but letting agent states they weren’t aware of urgency because I didn’t state it in the work order. Letting agent appears confused at what more they can do and refers to the covid-19 crisis even though the pandemic has absolutely no bearing on our situation but seems it’s just a way to try and shift responsibility or make an excuse for their own incompetence/laziness. It’s been 3 weeks and we still have insufficient heating rendering the property very cold. We’re paying a monthly rent amount of £1,100 and having to tell them of the legal responsibilities relating to heating. New email responses provide no confirmation or urgency, simply trying to look at technicalities before sorting out any issues stating that our issue isn’t urgent because we “do have heating it is just insufficient” (in this case the one heater in the whole property barely emits heat at all). 0/5. Extremely helpful and on the ball. I would recommend Alessandro and the rest of the Goodwin Fish team to anyone moving house. Very friendly service. They made sure the flat was looking it's best for photos and very quick to respond to any questions. If only the rest of the people I dealt with in my move were as good as them, I would have had a quicker less stressful move.
