Welcome to an independently-run, independently-minded estate and lettings agency. Ascend was founded on the belief that estate agents could do a lot better. We’d been working in the industry for a long time and were frustrated that most agencies were just so ordinary. Like their houses, these places were in need of a new lick of paint. Bit of rising damp in the basement too. So we decided to build our own home. This new home wasn’t made of sticks or straw. It was founded on a deep-rooted, decade-long knowledge of Manchester, from the very bricks and mortar of the city centre to its outer reaches. By a team of savvy individuals who loved the city and loved helping people invest, move and live in it. A team of quick thinkers and good listeners who did that rare thing: treat customers like people instead of transactions. Because they knew great service wasn’t just about experience and expertise. GoogleWhen we first approached Ascend, the services provided by the sales team was amazing. We thought your company would be different from others. But when we left the services was just disappointing. We hired a professional cleaner to clean the apartment, which was recommended by Ascend. They later charged us for a dusting and mopping, which was the same price as the full professional cleaning. I was not aware of the 3 months notice for TDS so we were disputing via email for 6 months and the property manager was barely responding to us. It was not 6 months later the agent asked us to dispute our case with TDS. All the agent could argue with us was that we had to pay. The claims on the check-out report does not even match what was written in the check-in report. When we raised the dispute to her manager, the manager said there's nothing that the manager can do and forwarded my email back to the property agent. We then asked to speak to the landlord to wave the charges because there were no evidence, the agent simply replied saying that it was already deducted... extremely disappointing. This is one of the worst agents I have encountered, never had to dispute with my other agents. Disappointed that the company took advantage of us students once more. At the end of the day it's not about the £200. It is to justify what is right and what is wrong. Oh well.. at least we tried to fight back. Anyways I definitely don't recommend Ascend. Also, I don't recommend people getting the apartment cleaned as well because you are going to be charged again. Have seen the similar feedback from others as well. Update*** It's been five weeks since we agreed to the deduction to our deposit. Last Friday after several chases, we finally received our deposit back. Now the only problem is that 1/3 of it is missing :) I find it suspicious how they returned part of our deposit in two different kind of transactions.. feel like I'm being scammed by these guys. Chased for the remaining amount. Hopefully will get the deposit back soon... what a service :D

GooglePoor Management. Natalie and the estate agents has failed to provide the adequate service. I would avoid them at all costs. They don't ever answer the phone, and don't manage your property. They are money grabbing thieves

Ms De Bartolo We are extremely sorry to learn of your unhappiness with the service you have received so far, we usually take great pride in the high standards we set for all our tenants. I assure you that we are equally frustrated with how long this repair has taken, I hope you can appreciate however that leaks are very complex issues, especially where the origin is found to be outside of your apartment meaning our team must co-ordinate with Block Management and their contractors. Your property manager is diligently chasing progress on your behalf and I will get him to provide you with a full update on this. We also apologise if you have experienced any slower than usual response times, but we humbly ask for your continued patience and understanding as we, not unlike any other business, are unavoidably impacted by the ongoing pandemic.

GoogleEwan was fantastic. So honest & helpful as well as prompt at getting back to queries. This is pretty much the opposite of interactions I’ve had previously with estate agents in Manchester so it was a refreshing change.

GoogleNever rent anything from them. No repairs done ever. Abusive contract conditions. Will try to charge you for anything they can find when you vacate the property including things like "general dust" , "silicon around bath". When tenancy ends will try any means to not return deposit.

Google1 star is even generous completely useless agency!! Had a nightmare from the very beginning as a landlord do not trust them and never sort out any issues and never reply to emails or calls. Can never get hold of anyone on the phone always goes to voicemail. Would never use them or recommend them.
Whilst we appreciate and take onboard your comments about our service, upon investigation we don’t completely agree with them. That being said we agree there are few are things could have done better and for that we apologise. Whilst every effort possible is made to ensure the property is well cared for through regular inspections, we cannot dictate to a tenant the way they live. Tenancy law states that a tenant should be allowed quiet enjoyment of the property. It is also not possible to serve notice on the tenant during a fixed term agreement for anything other than rent arrears. We understand that due to steps taken by Ascend the property is in a much better condition and you are happy with the situation and service. We are also glad that things have improved following the allocation of a new Portfolio Manager.

We were potiantial buyer very keen on having a viewing and possibly making an offer but got cancelled on FOUR times, each time they came up with a different excuse and they cancelled a viewing 10minutes prior to it taking place. By the way, Aarons attitude is awful. So unprofessional. Avoid at all costs
We’re very sorry you feel this way. Unfortunately, viewing tenanted properties can prove difficult if the tenant refuses to let us gain access - this is out of our control. Whilst we understand your frustrations, our team did go out of their way to assist you. Our branch manager re-worked his diary on a number of occasions to get you access into the property which hopefully demonstrated the lengths we were prepared to go to in order to get you in for a viewing. Unfortunately there are just some situations which are out of our control and we have to deal with these to the best of our ability. GoogleCompletely useless. Nobody picks up the phone for queries and I've send at least 4 requests for viewings over the past 2 weeks. I've literally not had one response. If you're a landlord and you want your property let quickly... Avoid these jokers at all costs. I rang mid December and they said they didn't have any viewing slots until January! They have clearly taken on far too much work than they are able to deal with and they don't have the skilled staff or organisation/direction from management to whip them into shape. Every property that I see with the Ascend logo... I just avoid now due to their dreadful customer engagement. Ascend? More like "Decend" !

GoogleMade moving into my first flat so easy and enjoyable. The best service!! I was super nervous but couldn’t be happier in my new flat, the process was smooth and the agents at Ascend found such a good deal to suit my requirements. Super helpful, told me everything I needed to know and replied to my questions so quick not like other estate agents, couldn’t have been more helpful! GoogleJust secured a place to rent, really nice easy agents to work with. Online application form a bit strange to start but makes sense once done. Rob was great at the viewing, showing me and my girlfriend around.
