GoogleLandlords beware! This estate agent outright lies about carrying out reference checks on tenants. They ‘sold’ a couple to us that were bad eggs (not big business people that they asserted but in fact unemployed and on universal credit with multiple court judgments against them) - we spent nearly a year getting these tenants out, all the meanwhile they washed their hands of responsibility and didn’t help us despite ‘pushing the tenants through’ - do not be fooled by their ‘professional’ demeanor- better off going with another agents who does not outright lie for a measly couple of thousand pounds commission. We have regretted appointing winkworths palmers green, other agents in the area are shocked by their complete lack of protocol - no reference report was ever even provided . If you do decide to go with these total muppets, make sure you demand the reference report before letting anyone into your home- no wiggle room for these agents. we suggest you steer clear of them for your own sake. Do not risk your property with this agent.

Dear Zara,
This review is untrue and, as a result, extremely misleading. It is unfair to my business, to my staff - who deserve better - and to my landlord clients who know we provide a thorough and professional service (see the other reviews here). I would appreciate it if you would delete the review or at least amend it to include the full facts, which are as follows: you knew the tenant did not have previous references because he had not been a tenant before and was selling a property. His solicitor confirmed this and provided a completion statement as proof. You also knew the tenant could not provide proof of income because he was self-employed. We sent you his bank statements. You also knew his credit score was low. We sent it to you. At our request, the tenant agreed to pay you 12 months' rent in advance. As this was a tenancy for a fixed 12-months period this satisfied the affordability issue. You confirmed your willingness to go ahead based on all the above information and the 12 months advance rent which we collected and paid over to you. You even signed an addendum to our standard terms of business confirming that you had seen the tenant's credit report and bank statements. When the 12 months contract period was up, new COVID-19 rules (which, as I am sure you appreciate, were beyond our control) gave extended tenancy rights of 6 months. At this point - I can only presume to save our standard contract renewal fee - you officially discharged us and said you would take over responsibility for amending the contract going forward. We assisted you throughout the tenancy on multiple occasions including completing all necessary forms, obtaining statutory declarations to ensure the full refund of the tenants security deposit to you, I fail to see what more we could have done for you. We complied with your every instruction and acted professionally throughout.
