TrustpilotGreat living experience and tremendous 24/7 staff
I lived in the Uncle building for almost 2 years as an expat working in London. It was truly a great find and great value for the money after some very difficult housing experiences when I first arrived.Management is very responsive and the 24 hour concierge really works to ensure the residents have all they need. Particularly notable are Eugene and Alfredo who normally work the evening shift. They go above and beyond to support the residents and their guests. The apartment complex has aimed to create a family environment and they definitely succeeded.Even during the COVID crisis, I felt like I was in one of the safest places I could be. If I returned to London would definitely consider staying again.

TrustpilotIf you're looking to rent
If you're looking to rent, look no further than Uncle Acton! Makes renting a dream, everything is so straight forward & having a team in-house to help with any queries is just so fab. I love having a parcel safe place next to the concierge so that you never miss a package, which is SO handy.

TrustpilotExcellent experience
We have been at Uncle New Cross for almost a year now and I can’t recommend it highly enough. The team here (shout out to Caroline, Paco, Vivian & John) make all the difference and really create a friendly community atmosphere. Right from the start, they made life easy and have always done what they can to make everything as stress free as possible. The flat itself is perfect, well located, warm, secure, quiet, fast internet… not to mention the great coffee shop downstairs& park next door. Any issues and the team are right on hand with their expertise and a smile. Having lived here, I would never want to rent anywhere else, or deal with any other landlords! Thank you to Caroline, Paco, Vivian & John for showing how enjoyable renting can be!

TrustpilotFantastic property - just not enough sleep
Fantastic property for short term let in Elephant. Thoughtfully designed. Staff are amazing and treat you as an individual. Special shout out to the concierge - particularly Farid (possibly the nicest man ever) - they’re all great. The back office team are also super friendly and helpful - headed up by Anna - both professional and efficient. Both groups were also supportive when dealing with repeated antisocial behaviour from other residents with parties until 4am unfortunately all too common - the management try their hardest but it takes months to remove any antisocial residents. If I were able to sleep through the night more than 5 nights a week it would be 5 stars.

TrustpilotUNCLE Wembley
Well, where do I start? We used to live in UNCLE Stockwell which was a pleasure. When we moved in to Stockwell we were pleasantly greeted, shown around and looked after by Daniel and Maria. They were so wonderful during the entire 18 months we stayed, when we caught word that they would be the new resident managers of UNCLE Wembley, we had to move! Since moving to Wembley, they have been ace. There are a few parts of the building that aren’t ready just yet but they really do go above and beyond to make everything the best it can be. They’re so friendly, caring and really do always do everything they can to help. The building is beautiful and apartments are flawless! Seriously, keep up the work guys, you’re really appreciated! The whole team at Wembley is exceptional! X

Trustpilot1year and counting at Stockwell
Been living in Uncle Stockwell for nearly a year & am very happy to have just renewed my contract for another year! Last summer I needed a place to move into quite quickly. From viewing the house to referencing and signing the contract took about 24 hours and my mind was immediately at ease knowing I'll have a place to live. Once I moved in things remained extremely smooth and easy for me. I had a modern, easy to take care of (albeit because it's small) flat. Perfect for someone like me who's in and out a lot but likes know everything will remain where it is once I'm back home and just generally having a space that's all mine. What makes the place great though is the staff! Ruth Duncan, Maria, Daniel and the rest of the staff were really helpful from day one. What's great is they make reaching out easy, you never feel like you're bothering anyone and they're happy and ready to help. There were multiple times when I needed help or couldn't get home in time for packages and they went out of their way to leave them in my flat. The team has especially shown its brilliance during COVID-19. They immediately upped their cleaning schedule, changed how parcels were delivered to reduce risk of exposure, added hand cleaning stations, screens etc. And during all this they remained cheerful and friendly which really helped while every thing else in the world seemed very strange!Great place to choose if you're looking to transition into living on your own 🙂

TrustpilotFour fantastic years at Uncle Stockwell
I’ve lived at uncle Stockwell for four years and am so sorry to be leaving. I have been taken care of more than I could have hoped for and the service has gotten better and better since 2016. The latest resident managers Ruth and Duncan Mort have made me feel extremely comfortable and safe, so helpful with any issues with my apartment and I’ll be sorry to say goodbye to them and the Uncle building. I lived in two apartments here and they both feel like a chapter in my life. Thank you Uncle, thank you Ruth and Duncan, Maria, Daniel, Katia and Antonio!

TrustpilotDuring the Covid situation
During the Covid situation, I got locked down outside of the UK and couldn't return to my apartment at Uncle Stockwell. Duncan and Ruth were extremely supportive during this period and went to all extremes to help me out. When I asked if they could send me my belongings, they didn't hesitate and placed all my things nicely into boxes and shipped them to me. (5+ boxes and 50+Kg!)That's something that has was beyond their duty and has made an immense difference for me.I'd definitely come back to Uncle Stockwell once I'm able to, and can't recommend Duncan and Ruth enough.

TrustpilotAs we move to easing out of lockdown
As we move to easing out of lockdown, small steps I know, i thought it was time to say thank you both for all you have done for me and the other residents in Stockwell. In particular Duncan all the things you have so cheerfully sorted out for me and others can’t have ben easy as none of us knew in the beginning what this isolation and lockdown was going to look like, and top of that list for me has been sorting out the beeping of the electric meters - this had been the complete nightmare to live with especially as I do live right next to them and to have them constantly go off - appreciate so much. It does seem ridiculous that EDR don’t have a system that overrides the meters - but thank you for your efforts of trying to sort them.Another area has been the empathy and understanding you have both shown me and I know others throughout, and the laughter. We were all so nervous at the beginning and it did feel like we had two people who cared for us. Because i have been in lockdown, I hear you Duncan as you have been doing your ‘virtual' rounds with potential new people. Always cheerful, polite always so clear and showing them everything so they can see Stockwell. Who knows what will happen with COVID, but I have appreciated your care.

TrustpilotAll of what you need to set your mind at ease...
Honestly, I think everyone has their own experiences when looking for a place to live. There are always the challenges of overpriced locations, cramped spaces, questionable contracts, and last but not least...landlords at the eleventh hour pulling your bid "because they've received a higher offer". If you don't want to read the long version, please scroll down to the bottom and I'll give you a concise checklist. So to disrupt this approach, while also giving you better value for all of the above mentioned challenges would seem impractical, and maybe a bad business model. However, that would be the case if money was your only objective. With that being said, you can see why the most important attribute of UNCLE is their tenants. I was not bribed, or offered anything to write this. I've lived in so many apartment buildings in a number of countries, that there are just some basic necessities you expect to have in a place you call home, chiefly amongst them is a team that manages the property that sees the value in treating the tenant in a decent way....just as a person. Too many places look at renters are just a commodity. UNCLE doesn't do this. The genuine smiles, and quick/timely responses, and above and beyond attitude. To be fair, is shocking. Like what's the catch right? Nothing thus far. With the health concerns going around, to see their team put themselves second...don't know what to say. When the move in dates were all pushed back, THEY took the initiative to reach out, to check what accommodations (temporary or permanent) we had. Time of day for a call? Doesn't matter...they reach out at any hour that you would like. And this goes for the whole team. Even folks in accounting will message you if you have questions! I have to say, Kassy has been beyond helpful. Dan, Maria, Joe, they're all looking out for us with the move in, and offered any help in getting those of us here all settled. But I will give Kassy her due, because I have quite a few questions, and she was patient through the uncertainty and ordeal of getting this whole situation sorted. So all in all, the most important thing, it actually feels like home. And I lived in a Fizzy flat for a year which had me constantly trying to get decent service, decent conversation, and timely feedback to situations that were pretty minor to sort. All the while making me get the sentiment that the monthly rent is all that was of interest. Whereas now. I look forward to walking into the building, walking home. Layout- 9/10. I think the decor, tiling, appliances, space are all amazing. Maybe I'm just a sucker for double/triple glazing on windows. And insanely high water pressure. But those are personal things. Otherwise the lighting is a perfect balance. Amenities- 10/10. I mean you have all you need in your flat, with the settings pre-adjusted to a comfortable level. When restrictions are lifted, there is a middle level connecting garden, a roof terrace, gyms etc...go figure. Quite a bit on offer. Location- 9/10. Central London is easily accessible. But I can lean out the window and get a feel for whether there's a long line at the local Tesco/Holland&Barrett/McDonalds (soon), and buses in due course. Transport- 10/10. For where we are located? You can see a number of buses that reach west London easily, or take you all the way into central London in circa 30ish minutes. Bakerloo line about 7 minutes away, and a walk to Wembley Park gets you the minor cardio you need, just to whisk you into the city rapidly within 15 min. Given the social distancing measures, Metropolitan lines are probably going to be one of the better options with fair amounts of air circulation. So all the best in your search for where you want to rest your head. If you're looking for peace of mind, I'll just say that I've found it for my needs. Maybe it might match yours as well.

My experience at Uncle Stockwell has been invaluable since 2017. I loved every moment in that beautiful environment, clean and modern facilities, the flat was amazing. I felt safe and at home there - all the managers have been a second family for me. Maria and Daniel last year, Ruth, Gabi and Duncan this year, have been absolutely fantastic. They helped me in any circumstances, especially moving out during this covid19 situation. TrustpilotWe lived at Uncle Stockwell for around…
We lived at Uncle Stockwell for around five years and had a wonderful experience. Throughout the years we have had some wonderful building managers and the staff have always been incredibly helpful. We recently purchased a new home halfway through our current contract and managing our old property in Stockwell has been tricky, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. But Ruth has been our main point of contact throughout this process and she has been absolutely fantastic and couldn't do enough to help us out. We can't give enough praise and we have really appreciated all she has done to help us. Thanks Ruth and thanks Uncle for help making the process as smooth as possible given the circumstances. We are sad to leave you behind and will miss our lovely little studio flat on Larkhall Park!

TrustpilotGreat place to live at
I live at UNCLE premises for almost 6 years now. I don't know how management is seeking their employees, but I have never seen such nice people, from some of the old crew that left like Katia and Antonio to the new guys such as Ruth, Duncan, Gabriela, David, Daniel, Maria and others, they are all amazing and I have to give them all the compliments I can. Just now I have renewed my tenancy agreement and Ruth was great throughout the renewal process, helped me a lot and always quick to answer my questions. Without a doubt great place to live at.

The flat was OK, but the service was outstanding. The team was always available and ready to move heaven and earth to ensure my comfort. Even during the winter when it was cold, the team was able to provide an extra heater within seconds! I could share many other examples of the great service I received. Special thanks to Paul & Duncan.

TrustpilotStaff are never on reception
Staff are never on reception, try contacting them via email or phone and be prepared for a long wait. Lifts are out of order more than they work. Cleaning is substandard throughout the building, and the general state around the exterior is frankly an embarrassment.

TrustpilotUncle ARE LGBTQ+ friendly
I’m gobsmacked to see other reviews on here suggesting that Uncle are anything but LGBTQ+ friendly. My partner and I are a gay couple who moved in to New Cross in February of 2017 and we were bowled over by how friendly and helpful the staff are. There was NEVER any issue relating to our sexuality and there NEVER has been. The reason I’ve come to Trustpilot again is someone sticking AIDS ribbons on the lobby doors of Blenheim Tower and a badly written complaint stuck to the door. I don’t know the full story and I have no desire to, but please do not slag off Uncle just because you aren’t happy and have a complaint. Making general statements about the LGBTQ+ community and how they are treated are untrue. I’m a gay man, my partner is a gay man and we have not experienced this at all. Please don’t use your sexuality to make yourself a victim.

I've now lived in UNCLE Elephant & Castle for over a year and I can honestly say that I have no complaints. On the contrary, it's a very safe place and the Aunties and Uncles take care of us really well - as well as address our concerns swiftly.A special thanks goes to Jam, who's a delight and to Paul and Farid, who are fantastic concierges, always with a smile on their faces and always ready to assist. Farid is brilliant! He speaks English, French and Arabic (probably more!) and is a very kind and considerate man.Keep up the great work, guys!

Supermarkets, Gym, Restaurants, Pubs, Bus stations and Bars within 2 to 5 minutes walk and yet it's a very calm road. Hardly any noise during the night. Everywhere you go in MCR it's easy to access and not far to walk.*BUILDING*It's a gem. Not as fancy as the newly built skyscrapers but it has its charm and anything you need: Gym, Yoga/Pilates room, Co-working area and an Art room free to use.*ROOMS*Spacious apartments, ace kitchen and bathroom and all the basic equipment you need.

UNCLE Elephant and Castle is an ideal place in Central London and provides splendid apartments. What I love the most is the excellent customer service provided by the landlords. Hi Tom,At UNCLE one of the rules we live buy is that when we mess up, we fess up. So, let's start by saying sorry. We completely understand the frustrations that residents have experienced with lifts being out of service, and occasional temporary outages of heating and hot water. Please know that when an issue like this crops up, we do everything we can as soon as it's practically possible. When it comes to complex systems like the lifts in our buildings, or the heating supply, we have to use outside contractors - and while we only work with the best, their lead times are out of our control. It is important to point out that any issues with the heating and hot water are sporadic, and when they do arise we do get them fixed as soon as it's possible for us to do so..And we know that these issues with the lifts can be extra challenging when there is an event in the Sky Lounge, but these once-a-month events are popular, and we think it's a great perk that UNCLE residents get access to 10 free tickets each time one of them is run in the building. We should also mention that we're trying to make extra resource available for these events to minimise disruption on residents, and make sure things run as smoothly as possible. We are also not aware of any issues of theft in the property, and any very rare instances of vandalism are always dealt with swiftly. While we never like getting a 1-star review, we are grateful for the feedback and we are listening. As review platforms like this aren't a great form for discussion, we'd love for you to reach out to the team directly so we can learn more about some of your concerns. Thanks so much,The UNCLE Team
Where the same review appears twice we show it once. We leave out reviews that name another agent or another of the brand's offices.
