GoogleI had a very bad experience with these so-called property consultants with a lack of honesty and transparency from the start. The estate agent didn’t have a clue what he was talking about when he showed me around a property I was interested in and I found his and another agent's phone and email etiquette absent and at times rude and condescending. I decided to put forward an offer on the property as I liked it regardless, but I received mixed messages from these agents on my offer, each telling me different things about what the vendor wanted and making me question their ability and join-up as a business. I was then told my offer had been accepted and sent a memorandum of sale but then SILENCE. I had to repeatedly call them, they promised calls back which I never received and my emails went unanswered. I eventually had to find out from their lettings agent of all people that the seller had withdrawn. In my case, it seemed there was no trust or usual business-client relationship between Truepenny’s and the seller and no care from Truepenny’s as to how they treat buyers. Their incompetence caused stress and a difficult financial situation with my mortgage advisor and solicitor. I never received a call or email from Truepenny's following up on what was an absolutely shambolic experience. Having now read other reviews on here, I suspect they might have been lying about my offer being accepted all along.

I am disappointed and sorry to read about your negative experience with Truepenny’s, not one we want any of our clients to go through.
I have looked into this matter with Connor and the sales team, it seems we were caught in the middle between yourself and the vendor. Who initially instructed us to sell on their behalf and then changed their mind and decided to sell through auction.
Due to the vendor’s telephone absenteeism, we came across as non-communicative. The vendor informed Truepenny’s of their change of mind, three days after memoranda of sale were issued - we contacted you immediately after being informed.
Having an offer accepted and then later rescinded by the vendor is extremely frustrating. It has happened to me personally, is infuriating! I can completely empathise with your exasperation and anger - Having agreements dissolve is also frustrating for agents, it’s the last thing we want to have happen.
We have tried to contact you on a couple of occasions to go through the chain of events in more detail, still happy to do so if you have a minute to discuss?
Again, on behalf of Truepenny’s, I apologise for your poor experience through ourselves.

I viewed a flat for sale through Truepenny’s back in January. The first question I had for the agent showing me around was why the seemingly reasonably priced property was still on the market. I asked if the commercial units in the vicinity had any bearing on that fact it hadn’t sold and if there would be any issue in getting a mortgage on the property? The agent said it was nothing to do with that, just a slow market at the moment and then lied through their teeth, assuring me “there would be absolutely no issue in getting a mortgage”. Fast forward a few months, mortgage repeatedly rejected by the more lenient high street lenders. I email the ‘sales progressor’ to update him, letting him know another mortgage application has been rejected and the following morning I find the flat is back on the market! Not so much of quick check with me that I wanted to pull out of the purchase. The flat is now on the market again, with no warning to anyone that you can’t get a mortgage on it. And I’m £1000 worse off because of Truepenny’s blatant lies.

They found me a lovely tenant, offered me very useful advice as a first time landlord and the whole experience was both efficient and speedy.
