GoogleWe listed our flat and started looking for a new home late last summer…unaware we were just weeks away from this really turbulent phase for the housing market. I’m glad we were with Truepennies because - as a local independent - it was clear from the off that they had so much understanding of the area. They didn’t just list our flat, they helped us find our new one, too. Everyone in the Dulwich office is so friendly and helpful and they really listen to you, so they know exactly what you’re looking for. Our sale and purchase had some added layers of complexity and I have to say that it was all resolved amicably, largely thanks to Wallace’s uncanny negotiating skills. I strongly suspect birds in trees have to hold on tight when he walks by! But seriously, Wallace, Connor, Alex and Erika and everyone else behind the scenes make up a great team, and I feel very lucky to have gone through this process with them. Thanks, Truepenny’s.

GoogleTruepenny's in East Dulwich were excellent in every respect. I had two flats to sell and a rental to organise as well. The flats were marketed and went under offer very quickly at above asking prices. They found very good tenants for a short term rent. Sales progression was extremely efficient, with frequent updates. I highly recommend these Estate and letting Agents.

I had an appalling experience with Truepenny’s Property Consultants. Their severe mismanagement has caused me significant financial and emotional distress. I gave proper notice under my tenancy’s break clause, found a replacement tenant who passed references, paid fees, and even signed the contract. But Truepenny’s lost the signed paperwork, apologised for it, and then later denied ever receiving it. Because of their incompetence, the replacement tenant withdrew, leaving me unfairly exposed to rent liability for a property I had lawfully vacated. Despite repeated communication, evidence, and even their own admissions of error, they have refused to take responsibility. Instead, they shifted all the burden onto me, forcing me into legal proceedings. This agency cannot be trusted with important tenancy matters. If you value professionalism, accountability, and proper handling of your documents, avoid Truepenny’s at all costs. Their negligence has not only cost me thousands of pounds but also months of unnecessary stress.

GoogleI was so impressed with Truepennys who have recently sold my house in East Dulwich. They were quick to come round and value my house. They immediately thought of someone who they knew would love my house and the next day Alex came round to view the property ahead of time. He was very enthusiastic about our house and most definitely shared this with the perspective buyers. We got an asking-price offer within hours and didn't have to go on the market. They still followed up with photos and floorplans but we couldn't have been more delighted with the speed and professionalism everyone showed. Once the offer was accepted Wallace was in charge of all the admin to get the deal done. He was always available to check how the chain was going and made a huge difference in getting the completion date we wanted. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Truepennys if you are thinking of selling your house.

We excepted an offer from a buyer at the beginning of our journey, but unfortunately fell through a number of months down the line. By this time there was a downturn and things got difficult. This did not deter Stacey and her team from putting in 100% effort to get another buyer for us. Their hard work has paid off as we have now completed on the sale. So a big thank to everyone at Truepennys for all your hard work.

GoogleWe had a great experience selling our property with Truepenny's. From the initial valuation, marketing and viewings to completion the whole team were friendly, professional and quick to respond to updates. Alex in particular did a stellar job with the viewings at a challenging time in the housing market (early January) and we sold within a week and a half of putting the house on the market. We highly recommend Truepenny's and would use them again in a heartbeat.

GoogleWe’re lucky to have had Chris as our agent, as he excels in standing for landlords and exploiting tenants. I believe he always does a good job in this regard. Firstly, the installation of the hobs was delayed for three months after we moved in, and requests for repairs, including blocked garden door locks, room closets, toilet bowls, and kitchen sinks, were not addressed. Secondly, his harassment caused us significant mental distress and constant pressure, despite my emphasizing that I suffer from mental health issues. Thirdly, we were forced to pay the second half of our rent over a month in advance, only to be evicted the next day after making the payment, which amounted to 15,000 pounds. Lastly, the agency deducted rent without discussing it with us and delayed the refund of the excess for a month after we vacated the property. They also attempted to deduct almost our entire deposit.
Dear 28, We regret to read your review. I have looked into this matter and feel that your review is an unfair representation of events. It is a shame that we cannot upload the inspection report for the public to draw their own conclusions, however it is necessary for me to provide the reader a more balanced account. Regarding the installation of the hob, this was completed much sooner than three months. The repairs were finished within two months of the first report - we needed landlord approval and the model of hob was not in stock at the time of ordering. We did not harass you. There were a growing number of concerns that we tried to contact you about. A mid-term property inspection showed evidence of pets and illegal substances also complaints from neighbours had been received. Despite your denial of having pets, cat food was found in the sink and you have left two reviews for veterinary services. There is also photographic evidence of illegal substances in the living room. These actions not only breach the terms of your tenancy agreement but also the law, thus necessitating a discussion with you. All reported issues were communicated to your landlord, some of which where found to be a result of misuse. Your tenancy agreement, mutually agreed prior to the start of your tenancy, was set for rent to be paid in six monthly installments. Due to the ongoing issues and concerns, the landlord eventually decided to retake possession of the property. Regarding your deposit, all deductions are in line with your tenancy agreement, supported by evidence from a third-party check-out report. Damages that the landlord is claiming for include carpet burns in the living room, additional cleaning requirements, gardening work and missing keys that necessitated a lock change. We tried to resolve this matter directly with you, however since an agreement could not be reached, it has been referred to the Deposit Protection Service’s dispute resolution service.

Great experience selling through Truepennys Lordship Lane! From beginning to end the team worked HARD on this transaction as we had two first time buyers pull out due to economic conditions.
