ALTIDO thank you for replying to my recent review. It presents as being all too easy, via an electronic reply, to place problems into the customer's corner. As for "you guys" being what you identify as a colloquialism - I beg to differ. The term is used as a friendly expression in an informal situation - We were your customers you were the service provider i.e., a business relationship. Yes we had the towels left stuffed into the handle of the front door of the flat however why in the first place did we need to ask for them and if you only have one set of keys how did you get into the building to leave the towels! Yes I did contact you about various concerns on the very day we arrived i.e.,, broken wine glasses, missing cutlery etc., and asked why there was not an inventory in the accommodation as I did not want some kind of recall from you about broken and missing items. I was also very concerned about how hot it was in the accommodation and asked how I could open the windows - the reply was they did not know but they could possibly get a fan or fans to cool the place down - by the way the fan/s never arrived and we eventually found out how to open the windows. I rang your office the day before leaving -no reply all day. The next morning someone rang me saying they had missed my call - I said I wanted to know what time we had to vacate the accommodation she said she would get back to me - this did not happen. Do you really want to me dig even more up! Because believe me there is plenty more. I would of preferred you to have put your hands up and just said; so sorry we will try our very very best next time - but hey ho suppose this will not happen. Still stick to my review title GET A GRIP.PS It took exactly 10 mins in a black cab from your office to Middle Meadow Walk!Reading the bad reviews of the accommodations and ALTIDO I feel totally justified in writing this bad review. Like others, poor and no contact from ALTIDO once in Edinburgh. East Marker Street Office could not find the keys to our apartment - they also couldn't find our booking at first. All very flippant especially when they called us "you guys" really can't bare this expression! I have also put to PlumGuide the things that were wrong with the apartment on Simpson Loan - just like others - dishwasher not working, food waste disposal jamming, freezer iced up, door intercom not working properly and having to go downstairs to open the main door! Only one set of keys for two couples. Lots of other very annoying things, not what should be when paying over £200 per day! Upon leaving, although no clear instructions, we took the keys back to ALTIDO and was offered by this office to leave our luggage at a charge of £10 per case! They said that Waverley Station would charge us an arm and a leg - i.e., a lot more than they charged. Big mistake! Little did they know that we lived in Edinburgh for 20+ years and no, it would not take 20 minutes in a taxi from Market Street to Simpson Loan. Big mistake ALTIDO! Will not be seeing you or using this company (is it a company or a franchise?) again.

We are proud to have so many positive reviews and provide a great experience to so many guests. When you arrived at our office in Edinburgh, we, regrettably, did not have the keys on site and informed you that someone will meet you and we offered to cover the taxi as well. Unfortunately we do not have an additional set of keys for the property.You`ve requested additional towels that were delivered. We are afraid that we do not have any other communication and we only understand from your review that you are not satisfied. To investigate your feedback further we organized an inspection of the propertyand discovered that everything is working perfectly fine. We sincerely apologize if you felt that our comments were too colloquail, we do try and keep a friendly atmosphere. To clarify the baggage fee is £5 per bag and is always stated as such, if you feel unhappy or make us ware of any issues, we won`t charge you. Regarding the length of taxi journey, generally speaking it takes 10-15 minutes dependant on traffic, however at the time George IV bridge was closed due to a fire, which would have added on considerably more time to the journey.We would like to once again apologize for any inconvenience, your review makes us better. STILL WAITING FOR MY PROMISED REFUND!!Me and my wife booked to stay at your hotel in Edinburgh Haymarket. We were very dissapointed with the service and hotel. We arrived at the hotel and got in to the main door fine using the online key button. We were emailed to say our room number was 26 and also had a code for this room. We approached the front door of 26 and pressed the unlock button on the app. This did not open door 26... I then decided to input the code which worked. When we entered the room there was lots of items and wet towels in the room and someone was clearly staying in there. We immediately left room 26 and tried the unlock button on the app again and realised this was opening door number 25. We then went in to room 25 which was clean and ready. We thought we should call the helpline and let them know what happened. They seemed very confused and also said we should leave room 25 and go to room 24 (our 3rd room change now). Room 24 was a very small room which is not what we intillay paid for. Also the room was not cleaned properly and had items from old occupiers in the fridge and the toiletries in the bathroom were not restocked. A few minutes later we bumped in to the people staying in room 26 (our room) on the corriodor and they said they were meant to stay in room 24 but when they arrived the room was not clean so they called the helpline who gave them our room instead!! We were very annoyed about this as it was a much nicer and larger room. We voiced our frustration with your helpline again who said they would look In to it and call back in 15 minutes. We waited for a call and this was actually 2 hours later. By this point we had a food reservation and left the hotel. We were offered a 25% discount on the room which we were frankly offended with. We felt a full refund was deserved due to the lack of security in the hotel (we managed to get in to 3 different rooms), the general cleanliness of our room (wasn't cleaned properly, items in fridge from old occupier, no restocked toiletries). The dissapointing small pokey room which was not meant to be ours as we were meant to be in room 26 which is much nicer and what we paid for. Also, a lady did call us later on in the evening and said they could offer a full refund but we would need to leave the hotel. This was a ridiculous ultimatum as we drove 8 hours from Somerset and would not have found another room at 8pm in the evening. We are most angry at the cleanliness issues as we are still very much in Covid times and cleanliness should be of the most importance to you and your staff. Furthermore, I asked for a manager to call me today around 11am, the lady on the phone said she would make this happen. It is now nearly 2pm and no phone call. I would like a reply to this email as soon as possible and to let us know what you propose you can do. This was a hotel for our wedding anniversary. We spent more on a hotel room than usual and feel really let down by the whole experience.

Stayed at the George Street property and have been really quite disappointed by quality and service. For balance, the location is fabulous and very handy for everything! Appreciate Altido manage a number of properties but this one is really poor. Broken items, barely any plates/cups etc in cupboards, cupboards stuffed with dirty laundry and a general air of neglect. No instruction manual left so no idea how wifi, heating etc worked. Customer service tried to be helpful but had no idea of each individual property and so couldn’t help much. Electricity doesn’t work in the communal stair area and is therefore incredibly dangerous when leaving the property! Stairs are really steep with no stair rail etc so not great for elderly/you g kids (appreciate this unlikely to be found in an old property but some warning would be useful!)

140 ROSE ST,EDINBURGH, a charming flat?,the only thing charming will be vacating it.Everyone involved in the rental of this property should hang their heads in shame.Praise where praise is due;the location is perfect. There endeth the positivity.You pick the keys up from a locked box outside front door to apartment block.You open the door and are immediately met by the smell of decay.The stairwell up to flat have not been painted or brushed down in yonks.I highly suspect ther is dna from the 1960's accumulating on the stairwell treads.Anyone with a cursory knowledge of architecture will jnow that floors should be flat.Not in this abode.Its a skateboarders paradise.The bathroom is highlight of flat as it's inoffensive.The kitchen /dining room is grim with stains on wall,dust everywhere, 20yr old cheese in oven.Oh the bedrooms. 2nd bedroom has a almost totally broken wardrobe,a bed that's barely alive and a mattress that is like sleeping on uncooked pasta shells.Bedroom 2 is larger but looks out on scaffolding,had stains all over sheets and you could feel bed slats through mattress.Utility room has a nice fridge,a hoover that has the sucking power of a 90yr old with no teeth,a filthy mop and a shelf full of broken detritus of previous owners.I truly feel sorry for anyone who has committed to renting this hovel.Even worse there are a herd of clumsy elephants living in flat above.
