Dear Anais, We are immensely disappointed by your negative comments as we do not advertise on Spare Room and as such can only assume that you have spoken with another agent or with the Landlord directly rather than one of our staff members. Our agency lives and dies by the way that we handle enquiries and I can assure you that my staff would never greet a new enquiry with a sigh as a significant proportion of their wages are made up from the commission made by letting properties, new enquiries are therefore treated as a priority. We take GDPR very seriously and I can assure you that we are fully compliant and have stringent measures in place to keep all personal details both private and secure. However, we have a duty of care to our Vendors, our Landlords and to our staff to establish the true identity of anyone that makes an enquiry regarding a property and will ask a series of questions to establish this identity, and to determine the requirements and suitability of all applicants. As mentioned, we assume you have spoken to another Agent or Landlord directly so I would really appreciate the opportunity to discuss your review further but without contact details for you, that will be impossible. I am sorry to read your comments, but accept the circumstance that has led to such a review. We make every effort to attend viewings in a timely and professional manner, however when there are current tenants living in the property, we are reliant on their agreement to allow access. In this case, the viewing was arranged well in advance with confirmation from the current tenant that the viewing was OK. On returning to the office after the bank holiday Friday, we found an email from the current tenant that access was no longer convenient and as your booking was the very first appointment of the day we were unable to contact you in advance of the time of your appointment as our offices opened at the same time. It is regrettable that we could not inform you in advance and also that this was the second occasion that we were unable to show the property to you. Please keep in mind that although we make every effort to avoid this scenario, we are reliant on a third party allowing access (the tenant). Showing a property is the first step in agreeing a tenancy and is integral to our business so it’s equally frustrating for us when this happens. We’d love to prove to you that we are neither untrustworthy nor unprofessional so please do allow us that opportunity and get back in touch.
