Open rent is a great way to rent your flat

Open rent is a great way to rent your flat , compared to the prices and services of several letting agencies. After a research I decided to use this platform to save hundred to pounds , and in a single day i received four views and rented the flat at the price I wanted !it is not a classical letting agency so you must organise your views and schedule.But excellent also when i ordered the electric certificates and the landlord insurance .I really recommend it

Not a good choice

Hard to contact and when you somehow get the chance to voice the issues with their website the problems are not getting solved. Just promises. In my opinion there are better alternatives on the market.

OpenRent support SCAM landlords

OpenRent support SCAM landlords. We moved into a property that the advertising landlord was illegally subletting and rather than help, OpenRent then released the funds directly to the landlord so they weren't involved. Disgusting behaviour, this scam landlord still has an active profile on OpenRent.

Customer services is non existant.

Customer services is non existant.I’ve been trying for over a week to amend number of tenants and it’s not been resolved. The support team are non responsive, no one has ever answered when I’ve called. The phone number on the website doesn’t work.The experience has been horrific. Does anyone actually work at open rent?

Good site, needs some tweaks

I have been a landlord for 15 years with both AST and rent a room experience and the website came to my attention as it was frequently recommended on the fb landlord forums, so I thought I'd give it a go for renting a room.I liked that it was easy to use and the messaging service was good. The thing that was wrong was you don't need an EHIC cert for a rent a room (as per spareroom & gov) although you do absolutely need a gas cert. As a single female I did not appreciate being told I wasn't responding to ppl because as a live in LL my concern is my safety. Therefore I do a lot of sifting out with the information available online before inviting people to view.There needs to be some explanation to applicants that they need to understand we need information on how they earn their money to pay their rent, as this request on my ad was ignored by many applicants so those applicants who did this simply didn't get a viewing. Otherwise I could only reasonably keep up with the people who met my criteria.But overall an easy site to use, I still prefer spareroom, (for room rental) but would consider using it again and happy to recommend.

I have been using OpenRent for a number of years and I find the platform highly useful for creating adverts for my property listings. Of more import is the fact that they offer numerous in house additional services that make the business of property less stressful. From tenant referencing to certifications this is a great company offering excellent services.

DONT BECOME A VERIFIED TENANT

Open rent do a hard search which can negatively impact your credit score as mine has just dropped significantly after doing one . It also does not guarantee you will get a place so stick to Rightmove . Ridiculous! Hard searches mess you up !!!!

Open rent is an excellent way of renting your room out without paying crazy amount of money. I originally had called estate agents to get the room listed. I was quoted £800 fee just to put the listing on. I decided to give open rent a go. It was free of charge and for full package £49 which is what I used. I have found a very good tenant through the website and a right candidate as a lodger. Excellent service and saves you a lot of money.

Easy and efficient way to find tenants

Reasonably priced and very straightforward to use, while including reasonable checks to keep things honest. We have used this platform 4 times now to find tenants.Each time we’ve had a clear view of the potential tenants and have been able to ask questions and carry out credit checking etc. in a very straightforward and transparent manner.We also use the rent collection service, which is very efficient and allows us to keep a track of payments received.Overall a very good platform that does what it promises at a reasonable price

I had 44 enquiries within 7 days and 10 of those turned into offers to rent. Brilliant service for hands on landlord

Have been using them for a few years. They are absolutely the best if you are a hands on landlord. They provide all the tools so the process of marketing, viewing, negotiation and tenancy signing is very smooth. And website and the app are well designed and easy to use. This morning I had an issue totally due to my oversight and I emailed them for help. Matthew responded within a few minutes and sorted it out. All for a tiny fraction of the cost charged by the high street estate agent. Highly recommended.

Excellent level of service in terms of number of viewings, communication between the viewers and landlord via the website, easy to compile and speed of getting out the advertisement. One tiny gripe, and its a personal one, is that I used to read the latest text from the bottom of the page, and Openrent's messaging, unlike most SMSs, is from the top. It took me a while to get use to. Unfortunately this time I found the new tenants from other sources, but I would recommend Openrent and their add-on services and will use them again.

Good platform but zero customer service. So unless you need help you are okay. They sent email on my listing to all the tenants that property is let when I enrolled with rentnow option and they knew it was not let. No contact center to talk to.. very bad experience...

I was very sceptical when I signed up…

I was very sceptical when I signed up to use OpenRent because the costs involved left other rental agencies standing. The process was trouble free from start to finish. The helpful guides, reminders, prompts and signposting made for a smooth journey. As a new landlord I had no experience but the prompt responses from queries I raised made it so very simple. You can’t go wrong using OpenRent. They far surpass my expectations.

Amazing support from Openrent

What started off as a bad review has finished off a good story, though it took OpenRent 5 working days to resolve. They were let down by an unprofessional engineer but they stepped in to refund my money and provided engineer details which I've used to make a complaint with Gas Safe. OpenRentbmust act decisively and remove this engineer from their network. He has no respect for customers and no respect for his profession.

Brilliant Tenant Finding Service

I've been renting out property for over thirty years and have used Openrent for the last five years. I find the service extremely easy to use and all my tenants have been fantastic. I like the fact that they do the referencing, inventory, key handover, EICR and Gas Safety checks, which makes it very much easier for Landlords. I have also found every tenant within 8 days. My only criticism is that it is very difficult to get through to anyone on the phone. However, would definitely recommend.
