Please consider using a different estate agency. We had an awful experience with Oliver's Town. We were prevented from accessing part of our property for a significant amount of time. They were non-responsive throughout our tenancy. They unlawfully held onto our deposit without reason for two months, then created reasons. We had to pursue action with a resolution service who then awarded us our entire deposit. Boo!

Mina at Oliver's Town was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly, had a good sense of what we were looking for, and really advocated for us with the landlord. She was also amazingly efficient getting the paperwork rolling. My husband and I could not be happier with our experience.

Absolutely appalling service

Absolutely appalling service. The estate agent, Rodney, showed me round the WRONG property. He was patronising and rude in the extreme, and completely wasted my time. Moreover, he had faffed us around before this viewing, as he did not arrange it appropriately with the tenants and had to cancel with us at the last minute. He frequently lectured and bullied me in conversation, and was highly inappropriate and belligerent in his behaviour. DO NOT use this agent - if they are comfortable employing frankly idiotic, inept dinosaurs, you can guarantee that they will not be employing people who can act appropriately to help tenants and landlords. Will be advising others not to use this company.

We posted our keys through the letterbox so they could do viewing the next day, and even though another customer told Olivers they saw them on the doormat that same evening Oliver Town management refused to accept any responsibility and even tried to deny they had our flat on their books, despite it being on their website and having viewings booked in. The staff members dealing with our sale were professional, but incredibly unprofessional and frankly disgraceful behaviour from the management of this branch, to the point were they tried to make the individual staff members financially responsible for changing our locks.

Really bad customer service on the phone and in general. We booked a viewing from Wednesday for a Saturday. When I emailed about the address I got no response so I called the agency. The person who answered was extremely rude and abrupt. When I told him which property it concerns he said we can't view it as we haven't booked the viewing. He then transferred me to another person, again not the one we booked the viewing with. She said she'll try to get us in the property to see it if she manages to contact the landlord for keys. When I asked how come this hasn't been done given we had booked the viewing from 3 days before she said the person we booked with wasn't in work and she can't apologise on his behalf. Extremely disappointed with the service. For people who work on targets they certainly do their best to put people off signing with them.

Looking for a flat to rent in Camden and Kentish Town is challenging in itself with so much on offer but such differing states and standards. As soon as we approached Oliver’s, they really listened to our needs and Ersin Mehmet really worked to find suitable viewings. Although we found something via an alternative medium, Ersin still followed to ensure we were sorted out and I will definitely be approaching them when our lease expires. Oliver’s Town stand out above the majority of the agents in this area. A breath of fresh air!

I cannot fault Stephen and Linda on the sales/ marketing side. They were excellent. I had loads of viewings, and they were very good at following up with potential buyers and giving me feedback. Once I had received an offer, the situation changed. The tricky situation I found myself in was exacerbated by Stephen's discourteous behaviour to both me and my solicitor, and I felt totally unsupported. However, at the end of the day they did deliver, so I suppose it was worth it.

We have been using Olivers to let our Kentish Town properties since 2012 and found them to be helpful and attentive both towards us and our tenants. They took lovely pictures and provided more information than any other agent, including a drawing of the property together with accurate measurements. So far, nothing is ever too much trouble. We have another property to let at the moment and would not think of going elsewhere. As far as finding it difficult to view a property, we as Landlord may be responsible for that. Our out-going tenants may be too stressed with work commitments and moving to co-operate, not out of malice but their being too overwhelmed with the situation. You would not want to view a place in disorder now, would you? My advice to those who are eager to see a particular property is to leave your details with the agents. It is in everyone's best interest to keep in touch when the property is ready to be viewed in a calm and relaxed atmosphere. The best results for us is to find the right tenant. In one of our properties, the tenant and his family have been with us for four years. We have never raised their rent. How often do you come across that? Olivers would provide us an up-to-date evaluation of the property each year, but respected our wish to renew the rent at the same price. In another property, short term tenants found by Olivers were all suitable. There again, Olivers understood what kind of tenants we were looking for, so they avoided pushing for someone that might not be right for us. Céline La Frenière
