GoogleMy tenancy has recently ended and I've found Oliver's Town to be unresponsive and difficult to work with. It's taken over a month to get our deposit back with myself and my housemates having to chase multiple times.
At the beginning of my tenancy it took a long time to arrange the paperwork, as we were not informed that our previous contact had left the company - meaning that my emails went unanswered.

Let us clarify, there has been a misunderstanding with regards to the scope of services we were engaged to provide by your Landlord. Unfortunately, the property you have tenanted was Not Managed by Olivers Town. Therefore, it was the right procedure for you to sort the repairs directly with the landlord, this is how it's done for non-managed properties.
Please note, we derive no benefit, or pleasure from holding on to a deposit and stringently advise owners that this is tenants money and needs to be considered as such. In this instance, we had contacted the owner 3 days prior to the commencement of the notice period and over the next month had contacted the owner no less than 11 times to seek approval to release of your deposit. Unfortunately, the owner took almost one month to authorise the release. Our accounts manager then needed to have approve from all the tenant and confirmation of bank details. This took a further 4 days and the deposit was released on the 5th day.
We are really sorry we could not have facilitated for your deposit to be released sooner.
However, we hope you can appreciate that without our intervention your deposit would have taken longer to release.
We hope this explanation provides the true context to this unfortunate situation and changes your view of Olivers Town.

GoogleI wouldn't even give them one star. Rodney wouldn't even get up out of his chair to greet me & my partner on entry. Then he tried to 'up sell' on the way to the property before we even got there. He answered the phone and ignored us while we looked around when he should of been giving us his full attention. We walked out of the property and said no because it didn't look anything like the pictures, a tenant was also asleep on the sofa. He tried to fear monger us into taking it, saying we were running out of time and to just 'take something'. Totally unprofessional and he's only interested in big commissions. I'm going to stick with open rent for far better service and no 'ridiculous added fees' openrent.co.uk

We have checked our records though, and you are not registered as a client. We register all clients who book viewings. Further, there is no diary entry for Rodney, or any of our staff, that tallies with the viewing you mention. We would also never show a property while a tenant was asleep on the couch, or for that matter, in any of the rooms. We do find it interesting that you have chosen to include the web address for an alternative agency.
