GoogleJames and the team sold our house earlier this year and we can't recommend them enough. They were extremely professional throughout the whole process and took a really proactive approach in helping to move the sale along.

GoogleExemplary service by James, Annabel, Michael and all the team at Martin & Co. I had been recommended Martin & Co by a local solicitor who specialised in conveyancing, and the recommendation was worth its weight in gold. I asked for the team’s advice on renting my flat and they gave me very sensible, sound advice re: prices and a reasonable rate for managing the flat in my stead. They also organised and did all the arduous paperwork very efficiently, as well as getting electricians and plumbers in when some initial issues were found with my plumbing and electrics. They did a fantastic job advertising the flat and found a lovely couple to be tenants very quickly. I would recommend Martin & Co to everyone local to the Crystal Palace area, and will be using Martin & Co again when I eventually decide to sell the property!

He has been very helpful and professional throughout the whole process and I cannot recommend him and is team highly enough - definitely not your average estate agent!

GoogleI have used Martin and Co twice now, to find a tenant for my flat and to organise the tenancy. They were recommended by the owner of a nearby flat. They have been extremely responsive and helpful every step of the way. They have twice found me good tenants, held the keys, organised viewings, organised the deposit at each end of the tenancy, as well as organising a plumber and electrician to go in - who then invoiced me directly [so no hidden charges]. The first tenancy ended after 6 months, so have been offered a large discount on the finders fee for my second tenant. I will definitely use them again, particularly due to the ease of contact and swift response to all my emails, phone calls and texts, as well as the resonableness and fairness of their fees

GoogleMartin & Co are a breath of fresh air compared to any other estate agencies we’ve dealt with previously. We bought our first home through James from Martin & Co, he did an excellent job at helping us get the sale pushed through when there were delays with the seller’s solicitors. On top of that the whole team are lovely, they actually listen to you, call you back and stick to what they say! I highly recommend.

GoogleI highly recommend Martin & Co Crystal Palace. Professional, unfailingly helpful and fantastic value for money. James has great legal knowledge and was able to give us some very useful advice plus he was excellent at chasing solicitors to get our sale through as quickly as possible. He is also a really nice guy, less pushy/aggressive than other estate agents I’ve worked with! We were considering managing our own sale via an online agent but I’m so glad we went with James, he really did make things easier at a very stressful time.

GoogleBest estate agent we've ever dealt with. Great local knowledge and found a buyer for our house within the week, at a good price, despite it being a slow time of year and there being two other properties for sale in the same road. Subsequently they helped us all the way through the sale, helping us deal with what was at times a difficult process! Michael and James in particular always went the extra mile. Couldn't recommend highly enough, a real pleasure to deal with.

GoogleI had a very negative experience renting with Martin & Co Crystal Palace. Not only were maintenance issues ignored at the property I was renting for 18 months but I found one staff member in particular to be duplicitous and bullying. Martin & Co may pull out all the stops if you are buying a property with them but if you are renting then you may receive the same shoddy treatment. I eventually quit the property in question after a 10% rent hike was implemented when the same thing had happened 12 months previously. I would not recommend Martin & Co for tenants in the private rented sector.
Dear Google User240, We are very sorry that you had this experience. In relation to maintenance issues, all matters are reported to landlords in a timely manner. Unfortunately we cannot make landlords carry out repairs and upgrades, even when we think they would be appropriate. Similarly, it is for landlords to determine rent levels, although we do offer guidance, we follow instructions on rent levels. If a member of the team behaved in a manner less professional than we require, and you should expect to receive, we can only apologise. Please do raise this with the team, we have a complaints procedure in place and will consider any comments you wish to raise, so that we can ensure all of our customers are treated properly. We do feel that we give tenants, landlords, buyers and sellers the best service we can, if we fell short for you, then that is not good enough and we once again apologise.

GoogleWe found our first flat through Martin & Co and from the first moment James, Annabel and their team were excellent. Whenever we had any issue they were the first to help and responded very quickly each time. After our contract expired and we had to move they did their best to help us find a flat we were looking for so we just had to move a block away. GoogleMy property was a multi-let and Martin and Co at Crystal Palace handled the lettings very profesionally, they were always very polite and willing to work together on any issues that arose in connection with the property, with both myself or with the tennants. I always felt I could call up and talk about any concerns regarding the property with them, at any given moment and without fail they were allways very warm welcoming and helpful, they made the whole process so easy for me. I also intructed them to handle the sale of this property, and was delighted with the way they managed to arrange the viewings with the tenants and all the little extras that they did to help, which I could not do as I do not live in the UK, this was way above what was expected and I shall be forever greatful to them. They certainly made both the lettings and the sale process go as smoothly as one could wish for.

GoogleWe have just found a lovely 2-bedroom flat at the edge of the Upper Norwood Triangle. During my househunting-process the biggest frustration was the arrogance of 80% of the approx. 15 letting agencies in this area. Most of them treat you as if you are not a potentional client and you must be happy that they listen to you more than ten seconds. An attitude that I did not found with the people who work at Martin&Co at Church road. The whole process of: viewing, informing, adminstration, interaction in person and by e-mail etc. went fluently. I can imagine that the position of letting agents is not so easy. According to me it should be in the middle between the (potential) tenant and landlord; they should represent the interests of both parties. They contact you with any issues, provide quotes, are utterly reasonable with suggestions of what actually needs doing and manage properties to an excellent standard. They have gone above and beyond on numerous occasions with difficult situations involving other tenants in the same block and never fail to keep you informed as a landlord. I couldn’t hope for a better management team!!!

They have obtained really great tenants for my property at the agreed rent and have dealt with any issues that have come up without any hassle required from me. GoogleOnly great things to say about this place. I have dealt with a number of estate agents, as a renter, seller and buyer, and hands down these folks are the best. No gimmicks, no sales pitch - straightforward and easy going. I rent my property full service with them from overseas and I have NEVER had an issue. They find good solid tenants and are no drama.
