We had a fantastic experience with Michael Darby and James Gough from Martin & Co. Our property-buying process was extremely long and stressful (through no fault of the estate agent) and we couldn't have had better customer service from Michael and James. They were so empathetic and supportive, and we never had to chase them. I would highly recommend James and his team at Martin & Co Crystal Palace. Throughout the process of buying my property, James was nothing but helpful, friendly and knowledgeable, doing whatever possible to assist both the vendor and me. Post completion he continued to keep in touch which was much appreciated, making me feel very welcome to the neighbourhood! A few years later when I decided to rent out my property, it was a no brainer to contact James and team to appoint them as managing agents. I was delighted at how quickly they found my tenants, and very impressed with their support and guidance throughout the process. During the tenancy I couldn't ask for more in terms of their efficient management and communication. After moving back in, when it came to putting my house back on the market to sell, there was no doubt in my mind which agents I would appoint. Despite the turbulent times within the housing market they found a number of suitable buyers, and were once more thoroughly supportive and proactive during the process which completed smoothly. I can wholeheartedly recommend Martin & Co Crystal Palace. We had our flat on the market for four months with another agent, re-listed with Martin & Co and had an offer within ten days. From our first engagement with James, they were professional and very knowledgeable which gave us confidence. The viewing process was very good - they use a web portal to show booked viewings and Michael (who did our viewings) wrote up feedback usually within a couple of hours which we really valued. The actual conveyancing/legal process is where they 100% earned their (very reasonable) fee. The conveyancing process is so opaque and we got little information from solicitors; James was always the one I'd go to and have a clear view of the sale status within hours as he'd engage with agents/solicitors throughout the chain. Our solicitor even commented that James is a "first class agent" and that he can't say that about many people, and this credibility definitely helps the process. I think James was instrumental in getting our sale over the line, and I felt he was a partner to us throughout.

Extremely happy with Martin and Co. I had a terrible, inexperienced Letting Agent the year before managing my property and tenant and the amount of stress it caused was truly unexplainable. Martin and Co swiftly took the contract and their experience certainly showed. They manage extremely well so that Landlords get what they pay for. They also understand the humanity of putting the needs of the tenant first. Would highly recommend in the Thornton Heath area for an easy life, as the area is not an easy Borough at all. I recently used Martin & Co in Crystal Palace to sell a property. My first contact was with Michael, who is very personable and has excellent communication skills. He provided a realistic appraisal of the value the property and advised the correct asking price to attract interest quickly. Unlike many other estate agents, he provided a no nonsense approach and was transparent with the commission fees. He demonstrated expert negotiation skills with potential buyers and he was highly motivated to achieve the best sale price for the property. I was kept fully appraised of feedback from the viewings. Once the offer was accepted, James took over to progress the sale. The buyer had quite a few demands and James kept calm negotiating with both the buyer and solicitors using his expert legal insight. So if you are looking to sell a property in Crystal Palace and surrounding areas, then I would recommend you look no further than Martin & Co.

Michael called first thing in the morning and arranged a viewing the same day in the afternoon. By the evening the Flat was ours. I instructed Martin & Co to act as managing agents for my property in Crystal Palace, and then to act as estate agents on the sale in March. I have been really impressed with the standard of service James and his team consistently delivered. They have utterly shown up the other (supposedly more upmarket) management agents that my girlfriend uses by, among many other things, demonstrating fantastic initiative, using their experience to preempt issues, being incredibly responsive, always providing insightful advice on what to do during some challenging issues and otherwise generally building tremendous trust with me and with the tenant that they have already foreseen and addressed any issues that may arise. I have been equally impressed by James's service as an estate agent, particularly as it only took one viewing to sell the flat and a mere 8 weeks for the transaction to go through, very much to his credit and due in no small part to his assistance with queries and generally prodding the buyers along. Would not hesitate to recommend and indeed I have, as we have now replaced the agents on the other property with Martin & Co! A pleasure to work with.

I can’t speak highly enough of James, Michael and the team. Fantastic service over 2019 when looking at possibly renting, and then eventually selling my flat. Lots of help with potential landlord responsibilities if I had gone down that route, and some useful contacts supplied for electrical testing and similar. James kept a tab on the conveyancing and even helped obtain some documents that my sellers solicitors were being slow about. M&Co Crystal Palace offer a really friendly, personal approach and I would highly recommend, and happily use them again.
