We are plumbing and heating contractors that have worked with Houseman for the last couple of years. We have worked with Emma and Raphael from Houseman for 8 years and in that time we have found them extremely responsive, acting responsibly on behalf of the tenants and the landlords be it moving in, moving out or issues that occur during the tenancy. They have very good relations with the contractors they use and can always be relied upon to take a pragmatic view around any issues that crop up. Trust is a word that sometimes gets forgotten in this area, but not here.

Earlier this year I sold a property as a POA on behalf of a third party. I had been using the same agents for approx. 18 years and found them wanting when I required some positive action. It was suggested by the concierge that I tried Madley. Later I met with Lloyd Withey, a senior staff member, and the whole experience became easy and the majority of the work was taken from my shoulders. I have responsibility for some further properties in the east end of London and will use Madley via Lloyd for both lettings and sales in the future.

Ode to Lloyd There once was an estate agent called Lloyd With whom one could never be annoyed His work was exceptional Though the whole process detestable He went above and beyond, we love you Lloyd Seriously: We had an absolute nightmare of a buying process but Lloyd was there to whip both sets of solicitors into shape. I think we’d still be stuck homeless and waiting on someone who’d put us to the bottom of the pile 3 months down the line if it wasn’t for him. Give the man a medal or a promotion because it is quite honestly the least he deserves. One hell of a good egg.

We bought a property and Lloyd was our estate agent. We had a difficult sale (no fault with Madley / Lloyd) and he was very reassuring throughout the stress and we could tell it was a priority for him too. Lloyd was constantly giving us updates, chasing everyone who was being incompetent (almost everyone else involved) and especially towards the end helped us get into the property as soon as possible, as I had been sleeping on sofas for a month at this point. Would definitely recommend Madley, but especially Lloyd.

I rented via them for an year. Dealing with Tonte Bo Douglas was very upsetting, he must work on his communication skills. Look, in 21st century customers expect PROMPT REPLIES and TRANSPARENCY above all. Truly deserves 1 star. I wrote to MD Jamie when I hit a road block getting a reply out of Tonte, it was matter regarding the deposit. Must say dealing with Jamie, Matt on another hand was an absolute pleasure. 5 starts. A company that refuses to take accountability, doesn't play fair when it comes to negotiations between the landlord and the tenant, refuses written proof and has no idea about customer service and/or how to communicate. My advise will be to NOT deal with them - this company is toxic and you will regret it. This company circulates memos that tells them the sales staff are better than the 'spikey haired c***s at Fo*****' What else can you expect? DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM I see others have shared a review about Tonte Douglas at the company - I have had similar, if not worse, experience with him. I escalated to Jamie, the head of the company, who hasn't responded. Matt, to my surprise, has completely ignored certain salient points in my email, and has completely come back on the defensive. My advice - do not deal with a company that pretends to be about the customer, but really is not.
