He contacted us before meeting, and gave us useful information about the properties when there. He was non-pressurising and helped us to feel able to ask the questions we needed to. He was also friendly and assured us he would help us with our onward search. We were grateful for the experience.

GoogleI registered with Ludlow Thompson on a cold Saturday in December having been let down by numerous agents/agencies who just did not seem to listen to my requirements - either that or they completed misunderstood what a 1 bed room flat at market rate in East Dulwich meant. Having left my details and requirements with the guys at LT I was sent 3 perfect properties, all of which I could have taken. The 1 flat that really took my fancy had just come on to the market, and after displaying interest I was taken back to the office to lay down a deposit and get the ball rolling. From there all happened quickly, efficiently and with constant communication from Tom and his team. An absolute joy to deal with and above all the best result - my new dream flat. A huge thank you to Tom and his team.

Daniel was super responsive (by email too, which is often a weak point of letting agents!), and kept me up to date throughout. He seemed knowledgable about the rental property I was viewing - again, surprisingly rare. (No paperwork has been signed yet so I can't speak to the admin.)

Surasak was wonderful, the complete opposite of the estate agent stereotype. Instead, he was a joy to deal with: charming, knowledgeable, reassuring and utterly trustworthy. When our solicitor went off the rails and ran away while we were completing, Surasak was our rock, unwaveringly supportive, refusing to tar us with the same brush. I would seek out his advice again in an eye blink. It’s lovely running into him around our new neighbourhood.

I had the best experience with Ludlow Thomson, and particularly with Christopher Lockwood. He was extremely nice, patient and professional. He answered all our enquiries, he provided a lot of information and he made sure we felt comfortable during the whole process. My wife and I had our renting process conducted by this company.Before signing the contract we asked the Lettings Negotiator if we could have a dog in the future. Their reply was that it would be ok under arrangement. Based on this information we rented the flat. 4 months after that we are having to move because the landlord will not accept any kind of pets. On top of that, we are having to bear the process and all the costs of changing the contract to other tenants without any help from the agency. If you have the chance of negotiating with any other agency than this one I strongly advise you to do that.

Permission for a pet was not agreed when your contract started, therefore authorisation would of had to of been granted at a later date. I know you aren’t presented with much choice in choosing your Managing Agent especially somewhere as competitive as London but I would avoid Ludlow at all costs! Very pushy in the initial sale but when it comes to them managing, its awful. Very slow response times to the point that you feel ignored, unhelpful and unknowledgeable Property Managers - like dealing with children it felt like at times. Unfriendly and position themselves on the side of the Landlord by default. Have caused the utmost stress when trying to arrange the return of a deposit i would say try to avoid these cowboys if you can or you will regret it.

Avoid ludlowthompson at all costs. They have zero regard for tenants, are thoroughly unprofessional and will try and pull every trick in the book to ensure you don't get your deposit back. We paid for and arranged a full professional end of tenancy clean when moving out of our flat (and provided receipts), only to find that they had deducted over £200 in cleaning charges (well over the market rate in itself) without telling us and having previously assured us that this wouldn't be necessary. We have now had to open a formal dispute to try and get this back. You can expect poor communication, a tendency to ignore emails or requests that might be inconvenient for them, and a clear desire to extract every penny they can from tenants.
