GoogleIt is no surprise that all of the positive reviews are regarding housing purchases and not from rental tenants. Utterly useless. You will spend more time chasing the staff (to find out information or ask them to do what they have committed to doing) than they spend doing the job they are paid to do. A stressful and frustrating experience.

GoogleI had such a pleasurable experience letting my apartment from Hannah Bick. From start to finish she was super helpful and kept us in the loop at all times which was very reassuring and took a lot of the stress away, which is very hard to come by in London! Highly recommend! I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Hannah personally!

Daniel made the process of booking and attending a property viewing very easy. Having to answer Covid-19 related questions before the viewing set my mind at ease.I also really like that Ludlow Thompson employees have their headshot in their email signature, this made it easy for me to recognise Daniel when attending my viewing. As a young woman attending viewings alone I really appreciated knowing who I was meeting for the viewing.

GoogleEstate agents are rarely praised, and during our process finding and buying a property we met many who underlined why this is so often the case. Alice Deyermond at Ludlow Thompson however was very different. From start to finish she was refreshingly friendly, helpful, honest, and quick to respond both on email and phone. Would have been five stars if it weren’t for some unnecessary pressure early on in the buying process, to exchange before we were ready. If you’re selling then I would recommend Alice as a fantastic representative of your property, and if you’re buying then she’s a delight to work with.

I liked the more subtle approach to sales - invited a number of viewings in one time block, not pushy just offering the right detail, attentive to queries on both sides and truly worth the reassurance for getting nice tenants. Hannah was very helpful in guiding us through a remote rental when we were not even in the country. She helpfully fended any questions and put our mind at ease when we were stressing about practicalities. I had a very pleasant experience with the Ludlowthompson. Very happy with the amount of details Ashley Ward was able to offer not only on the property he showed me, but also on the market as a whole. He was very polite, patient and helpful in explaining the benefits of leasehold vs freehold and why some people prefer one vs another. Will definitely work with Ludlowthompson again.

Anyone else tired of the London renting Mafia? Well you’re not alone people!Yes, that’s right, I’ve spent two years paying a small fortune to live in a mouldy hole. Paid exorbitant fees for ludlowthompson shamefully unprofessional services. Been left without hot water on several occasions. The entire flat almost burnt down due to contractors’ incompetence (who, of course, did not hesitate to blame the damaged carpet on tenants, despite no one being home at the time).When it finally came the time to move out (never sign a 2-year tenancy agreement folks, I’m telling you). I thought I finally did not have to put up with ludlowthompson's incompetence anymore; but Boy was I wrong!The cleaning firm recommended by LT thought it was appropriate and fair to steal several our belongings that were still in the flat and leave the remaining piled up in bin bags outside, along with rotten food and cigarette buds. Lovely, isn’t it?So, I email LT. I chased, not once but twice. Rest assured, they are “looking into the matter in full”. -Of course, they are. They always do.A week later they came back stating that we had given the cleaners permission to dispose of our belongings - and steal some of them too, I assume. Because living in London is so cheap that we can all afford to just dispose of expensive workwear, can’t we?Of course, they will offer no compensation. Of course, they will side with Homecare.Shame on you ludlowthompson!

Which it did.I had issues with the estate agents I dealt with before Ludlow Thompson, and is it SO nice to deal with people who are professional and good at what they do. But buying my flat through Alice at Ludlow Thompson in East Dulwich was nothing but easy. Our agent Michael went beyond the call of duty to reassure us during the buying process, and we found our dream home through him. We also had a lot of help from Georgina, and as this was our first purchase we really appreciated all the advice. Couldn't be happier with the service, and will definitely seek their advice in the future if we decide to sell.

We recently made an offer on a rental property marketed by LudlowThompson, our experience has left us with a matter of days to secure another rental property before being made homeless.There are two things that any prospective tenants should be fully aware of:- Agency fees. Ludlow state on their website that they charge an admin fee of up to 1.5 weeks rent, or £420 including VAT should that amount be higher. We wern't informed of this and were automatically invoiced the maximum fees (£720). When we questioned this, we negotiated the fee down to £420. If ever dealing with ludlow or similar agencies, realize the fees are negotiable and that you should offer the lowest amount.- Reserving a property: Taken verbatim from Ludlow's website"Acceptance of your Reservation Fee does not imply a tenancy which will only be created when the tenancy agreement has been signed by all parties. Please note that your offer is subject to Landlord Approval and in accordance with the Estate Agents Act 1979 the marketing of the property will continue whilst your application is processed and until the tenancy agreement has been signed. There is an administration charge of £1,000 payable should you cancel."What this effectively means is, whilst you are submitting a non-refundable deposit of £1k, ludlow are free to market the property in search of a better offer, in what we found to be quite an underhand manner. Nobody was available from their referencing department to discuss the quality of the references we had provided, or to advise on the progress of the referencing process. During this time, we weren't free to make an offer on another property, because we would have obviously lost that other deposit.Thankfully it seems consumer power is making gains here with sites like openrent and other options to rent direct from the landlord. You will always risk getting played by these big organisations. Oliver
