Thank you Polly!! My flat purchase wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for Polly. She made a tricky transaction happen and I have no doubt that it would have fallen through if it wasn't for her work. She was super efficient, on top of all …

Be warned - Lauristons use their data protection policy to protect self indulged, incompetent landlords from being challenged after they illegally enter / try to enter your property. We had a stranger trying to enter our flat last week, fiddling with keys, trying to turn the lock, to which I confronted him to ask what he was doing, turns out he was a contractor sent by our landlord without our permission (Illegal last time I checked) This was also very concerning given we have a baby in the flat and also our customers dogs “we run a dog day care buisness” so if a stranger opens our front door our customers dogs could run out into the street and get lost or worse, run over. Being very concerned we naturally asked Lauristons for our landlords email address so we could educate him on the matter, the law, so not to experience a repeat, but Lauristons flat out refused. What was really concerning, the man who tried to enter our flat without permission, turns out was sent by our landlord not Lauristons property management (though Lauristons happily handed over the keys with no consent from myself or my partner???) THE BIG TAKE HOME HERE FOLKS, if you are renting through Lauristons and a landlord enters, tries to enter and / or sends someone who doesn’t have your permission to enter your home, you can not do a thing about it other than to report it to the police in which I ended up doing. Lauristons clearly have one simple agenda here, to keep the landlord at all costs even at the detriment of the tenant who’s personal space has been violated by the landlord - anyone reading this who knows anything about buisness knows that’s a scummy buisness move.!!NegativeProfessionalism

Definitely one of the best estate agent we dealt with in our search of a property. Polly was a delight to work with, very professional, nothing is too much to ask, very responsive. It’s a shame we didn’t end up buying from her but we will definitely get in touch with her for a future sale and will not hesitate to recommend to friends. Thank you !

I dealt with the assistant sales manager James Wheatley. My experience with James was very positive. He was polite, friendly, informative and very flexible when needed. He worked very hard to negotiate on a property I was trying to buy. Even out of normal office working hours were not an issue to speak with James either by call or text. Very useful for me who didn’t work 9-5 Monday to Friday.

Lauristons property management have been very poor and at times downright unethical in their dealings. When one of their tenants left abruptly without providing notice Lauristons lied to my partner to get her to cover the rent for this person when she didn’t have to. On their advice my partner was significantly out of pocket based on poor advice. They also lied at the end of the tenancy, stating that my partner would have to leave her home of over 3 years because the landlord was renovating the property. This turned out to be untrue and instead they wanted to raise the rent and get new tenants in without giving my partner the choice to stay on with the increase in rent. They have handled the entire tenancy unethically and have caused untold damage to her mental health in the process. I would avoid Lauristons at all cost if possible.

Polly supported the purchase of our daughter’s first home, as expats we weren’t there to assist in the same way we would have like to. Polly stepped up to being not only the practical support but the emotional support that one needs when buying a first home. Her work was over and beyond, thank you very very much.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Michael and Myah at Lauristons for all your help in selling our property. What we really appreciated was the fact that you constantly kept us up to date on what was happening, enabled a steady stream of prospective buyers to see the house and in the closing stages basically made it all happen. Thank you.

Great agency, I found them to be the right balance between a large enough agency, able to drive in a lot of viewings and ensure a good offer, and a small enough agency with a local feel, that treated us with deference and promptitude, not like just another number on their stats. We had several buy/sell transactions with them, Chuk Agudosi our sales manager was fantastic, offered very helpful and realistic advice, very prompt responses and went beyond his duties to help us with various queries we had. We fully recommend them.

I’ve had great experiences both buying and selling with Lauristons. The agents are always professional and helpful. When buying, they understood what we were looking for and only showed us properties that fit our criteria and budget. When selling they went above and beyond to get us a good sale. Myah and Polly stayed in regular contact so we always knew what was happening. Would highly recommend to anyone in the Wimbledon area.

I think that all the statements made here about Lauristons being the worse agency in London are a bit too harsh. There are some really dodgy agents out there! That said, they're not good. The letting agents are unprofessional, and the level of support by the admin team is quite poor. My partner just vacated one of the properties managed by Lauristons, and the horror stories we had experienced could fill a good TrustPilot short story. My advice to future sharers / renters, is that if you have an option to avoid Lauristons - do that - but it's not as bad as the slum landlords you hear about daily

Jaimie · 31 July 2018

Hi Jaimie, its very difficult to respond to reviews that are not made by our customers and where there is no detail aside from the soundbites. Perhaps if your partner could give us a call at our Wimbledon office, we can better understand what the issues were and try and address them.

As as open community based club the Old Wimbledonian Warriors RFC relies very much on interacting with families and business in the local area. Over the last five years we have enjoyed fantastic support from Lauristons our main sponsor. What makes the relationship we have with Lauristons special is they very much share our key core values. Since we started just nine years ago we have grown in membership to over a thousand, five hundred of whom are children who play rugby every Sunday. This number is made up of boys and girls ranging from under 5's all the way to under 18's. To keep an enterprise like this running we have in place a committee of 10 and over 70 coaches all of whom are volunteers. As you can imagine this take a lot of time, effort and money to organise, and this is where Lauristons have contributed considerably. I would also mention the highlight of the year for many of the children is the May tour to the international mini rugby festival at Chichester and over the last few years Lauristons have contributed greatly to the expenses incurred. We are delighted to have Lauristons as our sponsor and we all hope our relationship stretches many years to come. Kind regards, Willie William Burke Sponsorship & Fundraising Old Wimbledonian Warriors RFC

Never again! It's all about the sale with these guys not the tenant. Upon signing our contract myself and my wife were promised a semi furnished flat in good condition with a fully secured garden as we have a dog. We were given the keys, entered flat, oh dear how very disappointing, my wife and I were met with a flat crammed with huge amounts of trash "supposedly" left by the former tenets, a heavily leaking kitchen tap, a garden fence with a hole in it for our precious dog to escape from, a mound of rubbish dumped in the centre of the garden from Lauristons cleaners where the flat was being cleaned prior to us moving in but conveniently they hadn't taken the rubbish away with them, a disgustingly stained smelly mattress on a bed we were told must stay, and not to mention the most concerning thing, under cupboard kitchen light fittings with there protective plastic coverings missing. It was so poor that myself and my wife had to move out and rent our previous flat for a week at the cost of £300 while Lauristons got there act together, but even that seemed all too much for them. •27 days to fix the leaking tap •Under cupboard light fittings fixed only after I threatened to take legal action •Mound of garden rubbish and disgusting mattress finally taken away after weeks of countless emails and phones calls It took one month to get our flat into the conditions it should have been in from day one as Lauristons simply didn't seem concerned, not to mention we asked for our £300 back that we were forced to pay for our back up accommodation which essentially meant we were now to our expense renting two properties at the same time, and guess what, Lauristons blame the landlord and the landlord is unreachable 👏🏻 great strategy for passing the buck at the expense of the tenant. The one star I gave in this review was for Georgina, extremely helpful, very professional, and actually cared, this lady honestly needs to be promoted.

Alphabet · 31 July 2017

Agent replied

Dear John, Apologies if you felt that the service standards were not up to your expectations and you felt there were unnecessary delays. It is of course in both ours and our landlords best interest to ensure that all starts to a tenancy are delivered to the tenants expectation and the excitement of moving into your new home is delivered. Having investigated your complaint it appears that there was a small hole in the rear garden fence unknown to both Lauristons and the landlord. This minor maintenance defect was not highlighted to us before the tenancy started however we apologise for this nonetheless. As part of our pre-tenancy preparation we insure all properties have an inventory and a professional clean prior to the start of the tenancy which you mention in your email. In having this comprehensive clean done it was necessary to remove some old items and rubbish which was correctly bagged up and moved into the front/side of the property for appropriate collection, which happened shortly after the tenancy started. We apologise if items of furnishing were not in the condition you thought when you viewed the property and as part of Lauristons offer process, items you wish to be purchased or removed should be cited in your offer paperwork, which in reference to the mattress I cannot see being a condition of your offer. That being said according to the third party independent Inventory clerk, the mattress does have some marks however has not been deemed as being in poor condition or unfit for purpose. The bed and the mattress are not new but again if new items of furnishings were an important part of your move then a formal request as part of your offer could have possibly resolved this. Tenants safety is of course paramount so when you did raise a concern in regards to the under the stairs cupboard light fitting missing its plastic cover, property management did instruct a qualified electrician who deemed the plastic cover missing from the light to not be causing a hazard. Thank you for your feedback on Georgina, I have made her aware that you were pleased with professionalism and apologies once again for some of the issues you have experienced.
