We were looking for a 2 bed property to rent in Wimbledon, and had to move within 4 weeks. We visited most of the estate agents in Wimbledon on Saturday. Due to exceptional demand in September and October all of the estate agents advised that the market was challenging, with lots of tenants but few properties. Jean-Claude at Lauristons advised he had a property he was seeing on Monday that he thought would be ideal for us. We viewed it on Monday afternoon and will move in by the end of November. Working with Lauristons has been easy, both Daniella and Jean-Claude were very professional and empathetic. We recently completed a purchase on a flat sold by Lauristons. We had the misfortune of hiring the world's worst lawyers - Swift (avoid, avoid!) - who refused to communicate with us, and dragged their feet to the point of inertia. Throughout, Lauristons - and particularly Myah Tomlin - remained communicative, reassuring, proactive in chasing both our ridiculous lawyers and the sellers' (who seemed perfectly competent, I hasten to add), and was generally a desperately needed point of contact in the most frustrating experience of my life. I initially put my house on the market 2 years ago with a different estate agent and struggled to even get any viewings. I was told by my estate agent that the problem was the market. As a result, I took it off. In September last year, I decided to try again. Polly from Lauristons was recommended to me by a friend. I wasn't expecting anything to happen quickly given my previous experiences. However, when I met Polly I realised quite soon that she was very experienced and very knowledgeable. It took 4 weeks from my house going on the market to getting an offer I was happy with. Without a shadow of a doubt this was because of Polly. I can't say the experience was straightforward - there were quite a few minor setbacks throughout the process but I do think having an experienced and capable estate agent made the difference.

Someone in this agency facilitated problematic subletting, and has caused myself and others a great deal of unnecessary stress in doing so. My landlords tried to rent their house to two tenants through Lauristons. Someone in Lauristons took advantage of them, and let the property to two people who run a separate property letting company. Those people then let the property to me and 4 others. Our landlords were out of the country for a while, and were completely unaware this was happening. The second company converted the living room into two separate bedrooms by erecting a wall in the centre, which breached the original tenancy agreement. One of the rooms created by this was windowless. For a while, a two bedroom house became home to 5 people, with one toilet. This ruined my expectations, and there were many more unpleasant incidents that followed on from this. Our real landlords realised what was going on when Lauristons failed to reply to them sufficiently. Thankfully when they found out, the landlords were kind to us, allowing us to stay. They told me that Lauristons were threatening them over the whole thing, despite completely deceiving them. Overall, London is plagued by subletting and property scams, as there are many selfish individuals who want to make quick money by exploiting others. I would never use Lauristons for this reason. However, there are a lot of good reviews here, and overall they seem reputable on the surface. It was therefore perhaps the actions of one employee that instigated this whole situation. Though, it is likely this person is still within their organisation, so I would avoid it like the plague.NegativeProfessionalism

I chose Lauristons estate agents in Wimbledon to value our property for sale because of their good reviews, I decided to sign with them after meeting our agent Andy (Andrew Fildes). Andy was really friendly, knowledgable and as honest as he could be in relation to how he would work to sell our property. He even told us about hidden costs that other agents forgot to highlight in their sales pitch. Everything went at our pace and there was great communication between us during the whole process. Even went things went a bit wrong, (on our side) Andy was always available to talk, he always put things right and always put our needs above everything else. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Lauristons again and I would recommend to others also, especially Andy. 5 stars for him!!

Lauristons in Wimbledon provided a brilliant service during the sale of our house at a very difficult time. We moved house during a very uncertain period and Lauristons did everything they could to ensure things ran smoothly. I know they worked as a team as we dealt with a few people there but I wanted to give a special mention of Myah at the Wimbledon office who was exceptional with her customer care, time keeping/booking and just keeping on top of things in general.
