An honest establishment with conscientious staff. Horton and Garton was one of the last estate agents we visited in our house hunt, but was the only one that was willing to talk about their offer in relation to other agents' without holding back. In a way, they were the only agent in our experience that did not think for us, but gave us enough information and allowed us to make our own decisions. Aggie (Agatha Tukendorf) helped us through the entire process and was very responsive to our queries.

A rare find in the baffling world of London estate agents. The small team at Horton & Garton are professional, focused, efficient and have extensive local knowledge and contacts. Our vendor happened to be elderly and struggling with the complexities of her move. The care that was extended to her was exemplary, and went far and away beyond the normal role expected of a London agent. Horton & Garton may not be the biggest estate agents on the block, but they are certainly one of the best. If you register with Phil Coombes you will be beautifully looked after.

Disclaimer: I'm usually wary of Estate agents and I know they're not really working for me (as I'm renting) Despite the above my experience H&G (specifically Aggie and Ashley) has been really good. They seem to be decent people and honest. Probably this comes from being a still relatively small/independent business. They've been nice and generally helpful and patient even when bombarded with a lot of stupid questions (stupid from the perspective of a professional estate agent). They also seem to work very hard, so they deserve my 5-stars. Kudos for their good job. Although I'm not planning/hoping to move anytime soon I can only hope my future experiences with Estate Agents will be as pleasant as with Horton and Garton. Keep up the good work. Aldo

It's been a pleasure dealing with Horton and Garton. Throughout the whole process I felt I had a team working to get my flat rented. They were honest when they felt unsure about potential tenants, answered all my questions with speed, facts and truths and contacted me regularly by email and phone. Now rented and managed by myself they still continue to be available to my every whim. If anything I was the one that was difficult to reach, not them!! Highly recommend.

Moving into a new place can be a stressful experience, but with Horton and Garton it felt like a breeze. I met with Agatha who showed me the place, and she was absolutely delightful! Her positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm played a big part in our choice of the place, as my girlfriend and I believe that the people associated with a place are a good indicator of the quality of living in it. This agency was very patient and helpful to us in gathering and completing paperwork. When I visited the office I met Ashley, who was very nice and welcoming. In fact, everybody there seemed to be enjoying themselves at work. The whole process was over quicker than expected and they thoroughly catered for our needs. 5 stars, very well deserved. After contacting several agencies we went forward with H&G to sell our flat as they sounded professional, knowledgeable, and honest. It was the best decision we could have taken. After a few weeks we had a secure buyer and a few weeks latter the flat was sold. Aneta, Martin and John always kept us updated and even helped the solicitors sourcing some information. Selling can be stressful, but H&G professionalism and honesty made all the process very smooth. I would strongly recommend their services.

Since we hired Horton and Garton to let our first flat in Hammersmith, we have continued using them for the sale and letting of two flats. John, Martin, Ara and the rest of the H&G team have been a refreshing experience in dealing with estate agents. From the time we met John the first time he came about as a nice, straightforward and friendly chap and neighbour of Hammersmith. We could later rly the same sentiments to the rest of team at H&G. H&G strong local knowledge of the market, their professional approach - far from the pushy attitude of other estate agents - and the trust that they transmit will make them very successful. I had dealings with the lettings department. We were looking for a house to rent in the W6 area. From beginning to end I found them totally unprofessional. The woman who showed us around a house had very little knowledge of the house, couldn’t communicate and it felt like we were taking up her time. We wanted to make an offer and talk about it, but she had to rush off to another viewing. We put a offer in on the property after the weekend and had to contact them constantly to find out what was going on - and then we found out we had lost out to a mystery offer we weren’t told about. I can’t comment on the sales dept, but if you deal with the female “lettings agent“ we did, I wish you much luck. Do yourself a favour and save yourself unnecessary hassle, stay away.

I thought once you had signed up with an estate agent they just sat back and waited for an offer to come in. Not these guys! From the very first meeting and until after completion, I received sound guidance and advice encompassing asking price, showing the property to its best advantage and what to accept. And not only that, once an offer had been accepted, they kept the buyer informed and patient and keen to complete whilst I went through a protracted 5 month conveyancing process with my purchase! I really don't think the big chain estate agents would have given this level of service. Well done Horton & Garton : you are the B E S T !!!

For us Horton and Garton were an oasis in a shark infested sea of estate agents. We were searching for 1 bed flat in W6 and we had become despondent with all other local companies who had little time for us and our limited budget and told us we couldn’t afford to stay in this area. Michael from Horton and Garton was so pleasant, attentive and accommodating that we are thoroughly grateful to him for all his help in finding us our lovely new flat. A Professional, friendly Estate Agents who will go above and beyond to help! My husband and I bought our home with John Horton over 9 years ago. When we finally moved back to Australia in 2010, we went back to John for help! He rented and managed the flat for us over several years before Horton and Garton sold it for us last year without any issues. If asked to list the least trusted business groups on earth, estate agents would be up there with loan sharks, politicians and second hand car dealers. But my experience with Horton and Garton has made me rethink the conventional wisdom. At every stage in selling our house the company has shown a high level of professionalism and integrity. They appointed Martin to look after our sale from valuation to exchange of contracts. He did an excellent job. The company’s local knowledge meant that the property was valued accurately. They presented the property to the buyers clearly, no over inflated claims. And most important, they were able to call on a large group of genuine buyers almost immediately the house went on the market. Within ten days the house had been sold. Perhaps most impressive, they did not stop looking after our interests once the buyer had been found. They have helped us move the sale to exchange by acting as a genuine honest broker during the entire process. Thank you Horton and Garton.
