I rented a property through haart lettings Clapham Common for a year in 2021/2022. They provided a great service with regards to move-in processes and procedures, meaning everything was clear, and they also gave very helpful support at the end of the tenancy when unfortunately we had a dispute with our landlord. They are also responsive and happy to provide references afterwards too (thank you to Natalie), which seems key these days for securing new rental properties especially as a student!

VERY POOR SERVICE & DIFFICULT TO CONTACT

My daughter and son-in-law vacated their rental property in Lincoln on May 23rd, 1 month ago, at the end of their 1 year tenancy.She emailed Haart Lincoln on 1st June, as the managing Agent on behalf of the Landlord, asking for the return of the £750 rental deposit, which is protected under the terms of the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS), and should be returned to the tenant within 10 days of the tenant's request for return.Haart replied 5 days later, saying that they were chasing the landlord for authorisation to release the deposit.On 14th June (13 days after my daughter's request) there was still no further reply or update from Haart about the deposit, so she chased again by email.On 22nd June (now 21 days after my daughter's request), I intervened on her behalf, and sent another chasing email about the deposit, addressing it to India Taylor (the person allegedly dealing with the request) and Craig Giles (the Branch Manager, and whom you will note also responds to reviews on this site).Today, 23rd June, I have attempted to contact Craig Giles on 01522 515244 on two occasions, and after a minute or so of ringing the call was disconnected.I then tried 01522 217126, and it was diverted and answered by Harry at "Head Office" who explained that neither Craig Giles nor India Taylor were available because the branch lines were "busy".He promised to pass a message on to them for an urgent callback, but sadly no call or email response was received.I think that this level of very poor service, lack of timely communication, difficulty of contact, and complete disregard for the return of the tenancy deposit is disgraceful and deplorable.In the absence of a swift conclusion to this matter, it seems inevitable that we shall have to open a formal "dispute" via the TDS to obtain the rightful return of the deposit, and also launch a formal complaint to Haart which may end up at the Property Ombudsman.I would have expected much better from Haart, which is a well established national agent.UPDATE 20/7/2023: I note the unsatisfactory response from the agent to my above comments, and now almost 1 month on from that (and 2 months since my daughter's departure from the property at the end of the tenancy) we are STILL WAITING for the return of the £750 deposit, which has been withheld for no valid reason. It is outrageous and scandalous, and reflects badly upon both the landlord and the agent. We have had to instigate a due process via TDS whereby the deposit must be returned within 1 month of the formal request issued by TDS. It is unfair that tenants must go through this tortuous process to force landlords and agents to return the deposit. Shame on Haart for enabling unscrupulous landlords to hold on to deposits without any justification - Haart's reputation is much diminished in my view and all potential tenants must take note of this unsavoury experience and be prepared to fight to get back what is rightfully yours at the end of the tenancy! You have been warned ... Just ensure that you have your deposit legally protected or insured, otherwise you will lose it!

Good Experience with Haart Estates Walderslade

We recently viewed a property through Haart Estates of Walderslade. Although we did not buy the property I have to say that the friendly attitude and service from the staff was first class, much better than experienced with other agents. Our initial contact with Jonathan Bone (Senior sales consultant) was very well handled. We subsequently viewed the property and met Rafe Baker (sales consultant) It has to be said that Rafe was very professional and polite , his personal presentation and attitude were exemplary. Rafe said he would keep us up to date on the offer we made, and actually did that with a level of efficiency & commitment that I have not experienced before (from other agents). We did not proceed with the property but look forward to potentially dealing with Haart Walderslade again.

Massive thank you to Trennaie T

Massive thank you to Trannaie T, who works at Haart Estate, she was amazingly great from the initial stage of being allocated as my move manager. She communicated with me on a daily basis by keeping me abreast with the motion of things. Given the deadline by the builder, Trennaie informed all parties of the deadline, and stressed the importance of meeting the date stipulated. Treannaie stayed on top of things and would advise me on the progression of the sale from the initial stage through to completion from the 21/05 to 30/06. Trennaie worked really hard and did such an amazing job to aid the completion on my new home which took under 5 weeks. She maintained consistency and effectively would communicated with every parties involved in the chain and if there was any obstacle, she would communicate this on my behalf to both solicitors and buyer to find a solution. Trennaie remained calm throughout and was very reassuring when I was stress. She maintained humility and gave quick responses to emails updating me every step of the way. Well done Trennaie, keep working hard. I appreciate your hard work.

Prior to getting in touch with Haart, my partner and I spent four months trying (and failing) to find a flat to rent. It was an absolute nightmare, as we couldn't find a letting agency who could work with our unique situation and needs. However, when we were put in touch with Mai at Haart, that all changed. I have had the pleasure of working with Haart Clapham for a number of years now. They, and their partner company manage the leasing of two - Zone 2 properties for me at present. Their rates are competitive and they have always found me good quality, professional, long term tenants. I have never experienced a void period under their care and guidance. More recently, Jennie has been proactive and efficient in overseeing renewal tenancy negotiations for me with my current tenants, negotiating a significant increase in rental payments in line with the current housing market. Jennie has always been very responsive to my emails and in taking my calls and getting back to me promptly. Absolutely would not recommend

Initially on viewing a property for sale with Amrick we were told we had 5 minutes as there were a lot of others attending. He hardly knew anything about the property and the whole viewing was very rushed. We still put an offer in which was accepted so had a second viewing. This time he was 15 minutes late with no call and didn't answer when I tried to contact him so we were stood waiting not knowing if he was going to turn up or not. Again he had not found out any answers to our first questions. We didn't hear from him throughout the 7 month process and if I did contact him he always said speak to the solicitors. The one time he did call was to find out when we were at with things. The property is still for sale on Right Move despite me asking numerous times for it to be removed. Towards the end of the process I couldn't get hold of him at all and emails were returned as being undelivered. I finally found out via the sellers solicitor that Haart, Wolverhampton were no longer doing sales so then it took days to call around other Haart locations to find out who had taken over the sale, but no one knew. This caused a lot of time and stress which could have been avoided. Communication was horrendous and no one got back to me. Amrick was always asking me to leave a review and when I said I would rather wait until the process had finished he replied "oh so that's how it's going to be is it". I've no idea where he has gone or what happened so to Haart sales, but it's for the best.

I’m trapped in a contract with them…

I’m trapped in a contract with them letting my property and I feel like I have a parasite I can’t get rid of. 6% rent collection fee is actually 7.5%. You get charged for extra stuff you don’t want and if you try to call them you hit a brick wall. High staff turnover, just receive emails telling you they are charging you for extra things you don’t want and can do yourself. I only wanted rent collection, not the extra money making schemes. Yearly reports and £25 for sending a document I have already served.

I would like to express my disappointment with the situation regarding the cancellation of our reference by your agency. After Nicola decided to cancel our reference, I was informed that I wouldn't be eligible for a refund of my deposit. The most frustrating part is that she's now disputing this, claiming that we failed the referencing process, despite initially stating that she was cancelling the reference herself. When I pointed out that if she believed we failed referencing, she should refund my money, she became rude and refused, stating she would never give me my money back.
