Property Manager - Tony Chan - Excellent

Tony Chan is the property manager managing the rental of my flat. This year, we had a water pipe burst on the floor above causing damage to my flat. Tony Chan worked very hard every step of the way managing and organising the communications and repairs with the management company, contractors , tenants and myself. We consider ourselves very lucky to have such an excellent property manager in Tony Chan. He is also quick to respond to any queries and is super helpful.Thank you Tony Chan for your continued management and support. We highly recommend Foxtons because of Tony Chan.

Thank you Emily and Ashleigh

My sister and I needed help with a leak in our flat yesterday and the service that we received from Foxtons was great. In particular, we want to mention Emily Dickson and Ashleigh Fisher who went above and beyond yesterday to help us. Emily and Ashleigh both took our issue very seriously and didn’t hesitate to get the problem solved as quickly as possible. Their communication was great, with regular updates throughout the day and we really felt that they wanted to get our problem fixed as quickly as possible. Most impressively, our usual property manager was busy yesterday and so Emily and Ashleigh stepped in to help. We felt that even though they hadn’t seen our property before/ dealt with us, they built up a rapport quickly and were very professional in solving the matter efficiently. Thank you Emily and Ashleigh!

Bought a flat with sitting tenants

Bought a flat with sitting tenants, agent was Foxtons. Agent was also handling tenancy agreement for previous owner. I made it clear that I did not want to work with Foxtons but would rent direct. Tenants were threatened with missing payments being flagged (threat to credit rating) if they didn't continue to pay rent to Foxtons. Despite Foxtons a) having no contract with me and b) not even having my bank details (what were they planning to do with the rent). The way out of this, it turned out, was to opt out of things I had not opted in to. It would not have been difficult to handle this professionally from early on in the process, lots of opportunities missed.

Beatrice Mackay North and West Foxtons - Outstanding

I have been renting my flat out through Foxtons for a year.As we were moving miles away from London it made sense to pay £180 per month for the services of a dedicated property manager.Beatrice Mackay was assigned to us and our property. She is everything you could hope for to look after your largest investment. She is instantly likeable and gains one’s trust virtually immediately, she is extremely clever and often comes up with a better solution than what you may have asked for, she takes pride in her work and this is apparent in all her communications, she is totally reliable and gives insightful advice. Sadly I doubt we shall have her working with us indefinitely for if anyone is headed for promotion it is Beatrice Mackay. So thank you Foxtons and thank you Beatrice.

One star is far too high

Utter scumbags. My partner and I originally rented a house from them, and the estate agent mentioned that the landlord was looking to sell the place at some point. We said that would be perfect, as my grandfather had sadly passed away earlier this year, and had left me some money, that we were sorting via HMRC. I said we would definitely be interested in buying down the line, so the estate agent suggested putting a ‘break clause’ in our 18 month contract, whereby the house could be sold after 6 months.Right from the get-go they messed us around, giving us the wrong time to collect our keys, claiming that they had never told us this time (we had it in writing), and then neglecting to send us the required keys for the conservatory, which we eventually had to get via a private locksmith.Within the first week of moving in, when we hadn’t even unpacked, Foxtons booked multiple viewings with us in the house. And then informed us that the house had been bought, by people who had viewed it before we even moved in, and we would have to move out after six months. They suggested we make a counteroffer, but refused to tell us what the bid was. We were forced to bid over market value, which they accepted, and I said we would complete the purchase after six months, once we had sorted my grandfather’s inheritance (this while we were still trying to arrange his funeral!).They refused this offer, insisting we complete the purchase now, and we were forced to scramble to assemble the funds at extremely short notice, with help from my family (who, again, were still grieving the sudden loss of a family member). When we finally managed to complete the purchase, Foxtons had the absolute gall to charge the landlord a ‘pro-rata commissions liability’ for ending the tenancy early - a sale that *they* had pushed for. He proceeded to attempt to deduct that from our deposit, which our solicitor confirmed within 30 seconds is completely unlawful. And was also in violation of the sales contract, which stipulated that the full deposit be returned to us immediately upon completion.Foxtons suggested we take this up with the deposit scheme, rather than just giving us back the money that they legally owed us.Three months later, we have finally received the full amount back, as the deposit scheme found, of course, that they had absolutely no legal right to withhold our money like this.I’m very glad that I will never have to deal with this nasty, disgusting, exploitative company ever again.

Thorough, efficient and effective

I have been working with Foxtons for many years looking after my rental flat in Clapham. For the last few years, Ashleigh Fisher has been the property manager. I find her to be very thorough, efficient and effective in all aspects of the management of the flat. She is also well liked and respected by my tenants, which is very important to me. Ashleigh is always very timely with her responses to questions from me and never drops the ball in following through on things that need to be done. She also is very charming, good with people and has a lovely personality and a great sense of humour.

Writing to express my appreciation of Tony Chan from the property management APAC team

I would like to thank Tony Chan from the property management APAC team for the excellent service he has provided for my apartment in London. Tony is highly responsive and always follow through on issues till it is satisfactorily resolved. Earlier this year, I had a series of issues relating to leakages in the bathroom in my apartment in London which affected the units below. This requires extensive investigations and rectification works. Tony was super helpful, by taking ownership and coordinated with various parties to eventually get the issues resolved, while keeping me updated on a timely basis. He is one of the best property managers that I've encountered so far, and I'm fortunate to have him manage my property in London. Thank you, Tony.

I would I like to thank Foxtons and especially Beatrice Mackay. Beatrice was negotiating a dispute between myself and my landlord, she was very persistent and did an amazing job at seeing this problem from both points of view.I want to make a point here that even though the dispute did not get solved and I still wanted to thank Beatrice. She had a tough job with a very unreasonable landlord but stuck the course anyway and conducted herself very professionally.

Three words - don’t do it

We listed our house with foxtons and the service has been abysmal. There’s been next to no effort or movement with trying to sell the house, no communications with any options etc. You get an account online which shows upcoming viewings - almost all viewings ‘booked’ haven’t actually happened and they don’t contact us to confirm it either. You expect a lot from an estate agent with their level of commission - dont bother.

Professional & Positive

We are very pleased with the outcome of the sale of our property and the service provided by Nick Wiley and Louis Benmax of Foxtons Pimlico. Louis secured a buyer within 6 days of the property going on the market. Nick was excellent from our first email contact (overseas sellers) and both of them kept us fully informed throughout the process and when necessary, they did not hesitate to follow up with the managing agents and solicitors. Nick and Louis were pretty good in managing the tricky balance between buyer’s and seller’s expectations and priorities. Thank you Nick and Louis. Much appreciated.VS

A Valued Consultant at Foxtons

I had been contacting Foxtons several times and after being passed from pillar to post Letting Support put me through to the Consultant of WorkstoBook, Sonam Rana. Mr Rana was a breath of fresh air ! He explained how the system works, listened patiently to all the issues I needed to discuss, answered most and made a note of the rest. He said he would check those and email a reply by the end of the day. This he did and provided me with all the information I needed. Sonam Rana is a brilliant Contractor Relationship Management, Foxtons

I have just completed on the sale of my flat and Catherine Lunn could not have been more efficient and helpful and experienced. She kept in touch regularly with both sides and also how the legal side of things was progressing. I felt I could always phone her if I was concerned or otherwise. I can highly recommend Catherine and Foxtons with both the sale process and also with the prior letting service before this sale. Gayle

If you are a renter, please do not use Foxtons. They are a scammy horrible company that only serves the interests of the landlord. They rented us an overpriced disgusting dump by using old out-of-date photos in the rental ad, and locked us into an abusively restrictive contract that made it impossible to leave the horrible dump that ruined my mental health. Do yourself a favour and stay away from these money hungry scammers.

I feel that the experience was negative

I put my flat up for sale with my Foxtons, I was going to go with another agent but they were very pushy and said how they managed to sell better than anyone so I went with them. I was under the impression my flat would go straight up but after I signed the contract it took them 2 weeks to take photos and put them up, in the meantime they put up a video of the flat from a mid-term inspection where it looked absolutely disgusting. I had never seen this video and I don't see why it would be allowed to be put up without my permission, I asked for it to be removed, they didn't and it took them nearly the 2 weeks to remove it. The photos they took were adequate but not particularly great, I was pretty disappointed. I felt that the price was extremely over inflated (like all their prices) but respected they knew better than me, but when every single person gave feedback that it was way overpriced and no one showed any interest I became quite embarrassed. I found it very hard to contact my sales agent and just gave up most times after leaving numerous messages. I heard from my agent 10 times more before I signed with them than I did during my contract. When I gave notice 28 days before the end after having no interest, I was reminded how they are the number one and warned that going to another agent would not solve the issue. Their commission is so much more than everyone else but I feel my experience with their sales agent was extremely poor and I can't believe I had no interest in my nice flat. I feel I made a mistake going with them and would caution anyone thinking of them. Also I rented my flat with them for nearly 2 decades and my last tenant emailed them notice which they said they did not receive until the next day so they extended the end date to one day beyond the end of the month, they then charged me a management fee of £9 for the one day (and she paid £1 something rent for that one day). I will never rent with them again due to the complete lack of transparency with regards to money. (As for the excuse that the housing market is quiet I put my other property up for sale at the same time and it sold within 2 weeks, but then again the photos were really good and the price was reasonable).

The renting process was an joy

I contacted Foxton over the phone, and after sharing my requirements with them, they provided such an abundance of excellent properties. They provided detailed information and captivating interior videos which helped me a great deal. My agent Vivian is very passionate and professional, and I want to thank her again as the house I ultimately chose was from one of those Vivian had recommended to me. The entire renting process was an absolute joy and I believe they deserve a five-star review.

Property Manager- Tony Chan

Foxtons performance is reflected by the Property Manager. Our Property Manager is Tony Chan. He does an excellent job. For example, in the past year he has assisted correcting a water leak and having the contractor at the property quickly also recommended suppliers for furniture etc. He has done this while also looking after our finances by recommending reliable, acceptable priced suppliers. Since 2010 we have probably had 6-8 Property Managers and Tony is by far the best. In addition, I have to believe that our tenants have appreciated Tony's diligence and immediate response to their enquiries. Tony is a consumate profesional, who represents Foxtons extremely well. We do not ever want to change our Property Manager.

The Hybrid Auction process was excellent!

The Hybrid Auction process was the most stress free property sale process I’ve ever experienced, in no small part down to the Foxtons team I realise. Joe Darnell was an absolute Power House! I couldn’t recommend him or this way of selling more highly. It was as fast as they’d promised and because the agents worked so hard they seemed to take the stress away. I knew I could trust them to get me the best price and fast. Living in London for 15 years, Foxtons have a reputation for being pushy. I witnessed this first hand and if pushy means getting on with it then - good on them!!

Taj is simply SUPERB

Taj is simply SUPERB. I cannot praise him highly enough. An absolutely first class agent who delivered on his promise. He said he could achieve an offer at a particular price - much higher than all the other agents had suggested - and he did just that. I have never met a more self assured and confident professional in his field. Would be more than delighted to recommend him and to anyone who wants an agent they can trust to actually deliver in place of empty promised. Foxtons are in a class of their own. They are worth every penny.
