TrustpilotProperty Services, Central North Division, Foxtons
Despite of choosing another agency to let our property, Nadia Dias Martins was great in keeping in contact throughout our process. She would be a great employee wherever she goes. Foxtons is lucky to have her and I wish her all the best.

TrustpilotDAMP, MOULD, FRAUD, AVOID.
Foxtons have rented me a property with severe mould and damp. I have extensive evidence of this. The property was advertised as newly refurbished. The letting agent did not show us the loft in the viewing, he said we would need a ladder to access it. 1 month after moving in we find out that the loft has a built-in ladder when you pull the hatch. We go into the loft and find there's a literal hole in the house and every single wooden beam is rotten and riddled with black and white mould. Foxtons have offered no alternative accomodation, no refund, no way to end the tenancy, no sympathy, nothing. They offered £200 compensation for our troubles. The rent is £3,250 a month so it is not comparible. The roof also poured down leaking with water, the house is slanted all over as it is suffering from subsidence which means the house is sinking. This has caused us extreme nausea and trip hazards. All foxtons has done is try to protect the Landlord and give us no proper offer of any compensation. We are now taking this up with the ombudsman.Clearly a deliberate attempt to get us to pay rent for a disgusting house and knowingly misrepresent the property.

TrustpilotTerrible service
Terrible service, we viewed a flat that was advertised as a short let and at a price. The flat needed decorating and the communal area needed a clean but we agreed to move forward as it was only for a month,WE completed all the forms and requests that Andrea asked us to, we complied with all his wishes.then 3 days before the lease was to begin, at 16:30 on a Friday Andrea told us the landlord wanted an extra £100 per week for expenses, I have no idea what these expenses could be as there was nothing extra we requested. It is so unprofessional to do this, so we declined and found a property elsewhere with more honest landlords.

TrustpilotFoxtons has been useless
Foxtons has been useless. Currently living in London, have has no heating for two weeks. We have let Foxtons know multiple times, and they have treated this issue with no urgency. We have a property manager with them, who has put minimal effort in to get this sorted. Would not recommend!

Dear Maddie,I am sorry that there has been an issue with the heating at your property. I can see that you reported the problem 6 days ago and the landlord arranged for British Gas to attend the following day but this was not convenient for you.I can also see that they failed to attend a second appointment yesterday, which I can only apologise for on their behalf, but I can see that a new appointment has been booked at a mutually convenient time. I understand that not having heating at this time of year is extremely inconvenient and that British Gas failing to attend has exacerbated this, although this is of course outside of our control.Your Property Manager will continue to liaise with you and the landlord to ensure that a repair is carried out and heating restored.Kind regardsNick

Moved in lately and found the oven not working and a couple of issues about lighting. Our property manager Jenna was so helpful and replied promptly. The electrician and engineer showed up the next day and make everything right. Brilliant!

GoogleOllie Mint at Foxtons was excellent. He went above and beyond to secure our sale and was reliable and helpful. We were also happy with the other agents at Foxtons who helped us when Ollie was away from the office. We did have a very negative experience with the solicitor recommended to us through Foxtons but this did not reflect poorly on the service Foxtons themselves offered us.

We moved out of the apartment over three months ago and left it in perfect condition. The rental agreement stated that our deposit should have been returned within 10 days, yet we are still waiting. Despite repeated follow-ups, nothing has been resolved.

TrustpilotThe worst experience I have had while…
The worst experience I have had while renting in London in the past 8 years. Foxtons rented out an apartment with no working heating and never did anything to resolve the matter. They as well as the landlord were aware of this issue beforehand and failed to mention anything during the enquiry about the flat. The Foxtons property manager told us to think about how much money we would be saving in not running the central heating instead of anything being done to address the issue, and went through the whole winter (one of the coldest reported for London) without any heating!! They also neglected to fix a boiler for over 7 months, running up our electricity bills and after numerous phone calls and messages asking them to have someone come look at it, it finally took place 8 months after the issue was raise. To add to that, the engineer who came to finally fix it informed us we were lucky the boiler didn’t blow. No accountability or explanation from Foxtons as to why this happened or why it took so long to arrange. They have no regard for their tenants who come to them looking for a home, I would implore anyone looking to rent in London to consider seeking another agent as this experience with Foxtons is one that has put myself off for life, and I would hate the thought of anyone else having to go through what I did for the last year.I went through all the proper channels to tried and speak to someone about my issues but it seems the designated property manager, the letting agent and even upper management all the way to a lettings director do not care to help, as they stop replying to messages or emails, dodge calls and never return call back requests. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. From the experience I have had, even one star is too generous.

TrustpilotBe aware of Foxtons !
Be aware of Foxtons !On January 25th, they accepted my offer on behalf of the landlord for flat 93 Langford Court. They had me sign the contract and pay the full amount of £4200 for one month's rent plus a 5-week deposit. After I passed the reference and credit check, they requested an increase of £50 per month in rent, which I accepted. However, despite my compliance, I have yet to receive a signed contract from all parties. Instead, after ignoring my emails, texts, and calls, I received a call from their side on March 8th stating that the landlord accepted a better offer! This situation is unacceptable, and I demand an explanation. Holding onto my money without providing the agreed-upon services is unjust, their actions have caused me stress and wasted my time, Till this moment I haven't received any explanation or at least a total refund of my money!!!!Kind Regards Souheir Mortada

Foxtons went the extra mile for our slumlord landlord who had somehow got his hands on an ex-council flat in a nicer part of London but ran it to the ground never maintaining or fixing anything. Icing on the cake was Foxtons helping the landlord to make a basically fraudulent claim to make a deduction from our deposit. What slumlord/Foxtons didn’t know was that we had anticipated such scumbaggery and had a video of the flat on the day keys were returned. Slumlord/Foxtons forced us to go to arbitration but we won easily. Very sad that our capital city is plagued by these vermin who seem to operate with impunity.

Thank you to the Foxtons group, particularly to Peter Spencer, for their invaluable assistance in finding my first home. As a first-time buyer, Peter guided me through the entire process and alleviated much of the stress associated with it. He took the time to understand my needs and preferences, arranging viewings of multiple properties throughout the day to ensure I found the best fit. Thank you once again for all your help, and I look forward to the possibility of working together again in the future.Sheila

TrustpilotRude agent & pushy sales man
Called to query about a property to buy and I asked for the cost of the service charge. Instead of asking me, the agent asked me 20 questions during the course of 10 minutes and still kept on asking and asking, without the willingness and readiness to share the cost of the service charge in the name of qualifying buyers. I told him I have answered 20 questions and how many more questions do I need to answer before he will be able to qualify me as a buyers and share the service charge number. The question was not answered and more and more questions keep on coming, still in the name of qualifying buyers. Felt really very uncomfortable. I asked to speak with his senior and it was refused. I ask for foxton complain handling process. It was fused to be provided verbally.

Terrible customer service and very poor management.I feel sorry for my landlord because the lack of actions by foxtons means the property is slowly falling apart. We take the effort to report everything as this is someones house and investment but they take 2/3 weeks only to send emails but no one actually comes to fix anything. What's the point of paying for many management then ?

Dear Mr Coleman,I'm sorry to read that you have been unhappy with the service received. I thought it would be useful to clarify that when a property is managed, unless instructed otherwise we will always notify the landlord of any issues they arise and propose a solution (such as sending out a contractor to investigate) but we work under their instruction so this cannot be done without their agreement. Likewise once a contractor has visited and quoted for a repair we again need approval from a landlord as they are the one paying for the work.I apologise if there has been some delays, if you would like to discuss the matter with your property manager's team leader or manager, please do raise these and we will be happy to discuss the issues you experienced in more detail.Kind regardsNick
