Moved to property

Moved to property, was lied to about the owner wanting me to be his tenant by one staff member, property was not cleaned (filthy) not unfurnished, over 50 visible acre raw plug holes in walls, broken windows, broken taps, mould in bathrooms, a nightmare under the shower tray, everything was terrible, I asked if there was anyway I could not take the flat - foxy is said no in a contract - basically no rights as tenant,Spent 2 weeks cleaning and putting right, foxtons gave some spill about brilliant landlord - complete nonsense, been charged full rent, paid 5k + to get a flat & had to clean someone else’s dirty toilets, kitchens etc etc, remove rubbish - complete nightmare, the inventory by Storm inventories was a complete lie - made the flat out to be clean which made me liable for the mess - I sent over all the photos and now the inventory is getting amended - what a joke, don’t rent of Foxtons because you are not guaranteed as promised a professional cleaned place, the staff tell lies about how they property manage, they take your money and leave you in the dirt… literally… I’m hearing similar stories and seeing similar reviews, plus same experiences with their contractors who are unprofessional. After seeking further information I was within my rights to not move in, but Foxtons had categorically told me I had to, check your tenancy and don’t take the place if it is not 100% correct.

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful. As a landlord I've been ignored so many times I don't know what they are earning their "management fee" for. They pay your rent three days later than received so they sit on your money. My calls and emails are ignored. They got my contract wrong and patronised me for 3 months when I tried to tell them. I'm sure that they are failing to fulfill the sale of goods and services act. I think I'm going to start legal action to be honest.

Excellent Moving Out Experience

Hidaya has been an absolute star, assisting our moving our process. Despite of her being new within the organisation, she has been efficient, helpful and highly professional. She really made the whole process stress-free.

Awful customer service

I've been trying to amend my tenancy agreement for 4 months now and customer service is just awful. They either don't reply to my emails or tell me I'll be contacted by their team but then it never happens. They are really quick when they are trying to let you a property, but once you get one, they will ignore you and won't help at all.

Colossal waste of time, completely unprofessional

Foxtons will act like a beacon of professionalism when you first get in touch, arranging multiple viewings in your price range, and offering to transport you around various properties, but when you actually get round to said viewings, you quickly realise what a sloppy, unprofessional and uncourteous service you're dealing with. The first big bugbear for me was the fact the estate agent kept answering calls during our viewings, and spent a vast portion of the viewing times talking to other clients, which we found incredibly impolite and lacking in professionalism. To the point that he would suddenly stop talking to us mid-conversation to attend to his calls, no apology given. Yes, I get that estate agents are busy people but this behaviour left us feeling like a bit ridiculous and like we were a complete non-priority. This was our viewing time, which we'd taken time out of our work schedules for, so I would have expected a more attentive and respectful service. Then there was the issue of trying to place an offer on a flat, which was provisionally accepted...only for us to be completely ghosted by the landlord a few days later. The day after the landlord agreed to our offer, we still hadn't heard anything back from Foxtons, and chased it up, only to be told that the landlord "wasn't answering their calls or emails". We contacted them the next day and were told the exact same spiel. It then got to four days later and we still heard nothing. We told Foxtons that we could read the writing on the wall, and would appreciate some firm confirmation that we need not waste any more time holding out for the landlord. Their response was basically "yeah, I wouldn't bother if I were you" along with an attempt to foist a different, rubbish and overpriced flat no one else onto us. We then found a couple of other flats we liked the look of and asked to arrange viewings for one. Foxtons arranged a viewing for us, only to cancel on the morning of the viewing, at very short notice. They told us that property had already been let out for a couple of hundred pounds more than originally advertised. This transpired to be a lie as we saw the property still being advertised for another few days, but at 1k more than the original price! They also went completely silent about the two other flats they had allegedly arranged to show us and basically ended up ghosting us. Not sure what the hell Foxtons were playing at there, but we didn't appreciate their dishonesty and appalling lack of professionalism. In short, don't waste your time with Foxtons unless your stinking rich because they couldn't care less otherwise.

Saad was extremely helpful throughout the process. As first time buyers he explained the process and guided us through til the end. His communication was amazing always available if we had a question and most of all he helped us complete the purhase by going the extra mile.

Aga Witowska is quite simply the best property manager I've had over the last two decades: thoughtful, efficient, pragmatic and very well-informed. In turn this gives me the confidence that both my property and my tenants are being well looked after.

Thank you Emi Mustafa

I really appreciate the efforts, the professionalism, the persistence from Emi. Conversations with Emi started early and it feels nice. He was never pushy. He shared his market reading. When the job kicked off he was really into it. Despite a challenging market he wasn't giving up (a lot of agents do). The communication from him had always been straightforward, short and concise, logical. Unlike many agents who simply relay the price or market pressure, Emi acted like a real trade man who has his own professional judgement and understanding based on trade knowledge and experiences. I didn't end up the deal with Emi, which was a shame, as lots of factors play a role in such a deal. But I respect agents like Emi, and would like to rate him for his help. Strongly recommend.

Marco Cardin in the Stratford office was the agent for my property purchase. It was a pretty long, drawn out process due to Covid and associated complications but Marco was always readily available and offered great support to get the transaction over the line, all the way from the viewing/negotiation stage through to the detail required for exchange and completion. Thank you Marco!PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

Inept, corrupt and deceitful

Inept, corrupt and deceitful - do NOT use this agency. We have truly had one of the worst experiences of our entire life with this agency, arranging a short term let with them. They charged us an (illegal) £500 administration fee, left us without electricity for 3 days without any alternate accommodation. Advertised our short term let as with all the amenities (water, electricity, internet) and towels, bedding etc - the flat had no internet, water pressure or electricity. They had one old towel and a fitted bed sheet. Its been absolutely so atrocious and unpleasant! They charged us a huge amount of money upfront, and then have not paid a dollar in compensation.

Made us rush there for a different property

Requested to view a specific property was told to wait as there are already many lined up. Sure thing, but agent also asked a thousand questions as to why we want that specific property. Answered all and even wrote in an email the 3 main features we need.Same evening agent calls back to let us know we "got lucky" and there is an opening the very next day mid-afternoon. It's quite last minute to us with work but we move around/cancel some meetings and rush to the appointment. We get there just on time, agent is very relaxed and took over 10m just to get the keys and his car. A bit strange as we thought the viewings are strictly timetabled but fine.We get in his car and he starts chatting and asking more questions many of which are repeated from before. At one point I ask if this is the optimal way to the flat as we are headed a weird way and he casually notes "oh we are not viewing that flat as there is an offer for it already". We freak out and but he insists he'll show us something "just as good if not better". We are still super shocked and angry but thought at this point what could we lose.He proceeds to show us another flat that is not only not the same price but doesn't even have 2/3 key things we repeatedly asked for and even wrote down. We literally repeated these in the car and yet he proceeded to waste our time with something not matching. After this he still had the audacity to ask "what we think" and wanted to show us more places that are "even better". Mind you we were already 20m past the "open slot". Thankfully this flat was close to the tube so at this point we just walked away but that still wouldn't stop him from repeatedly calling us the day after.I know the job of these agents is to sell, but this way of creating a false sense of urgency to then completely wate our time should be straight up criminal. After this experience we definitely won't even consider any flat marketed by Foxtons since who knows if they'd actually show us the same place.

Never use their service

I rented my apartment via the agency that’s been acquired with time by Foxtons. At the end of my tenancy when deposit had to be released Foxtons made their own assumptions that never been discussed with landlord and hold my deposit for 20 days (10 of it unprotected). They’ve been using my money to gain profit when I was battling with them for my deposit to be returned in full. Very poor service. And unreliable company. Not recommend. Will complain.

My estate agent Shamila was amazing!! She really helped and knew what I wanted. I have had a lot experience with different estate agents but her customer service was 11/10. She went above and beyond to get what I need and was available anytime I had questions or doubts. Would definitely recommend her or the company anytime!

Taylor Stevenson #1 estate agent!!!

We are so so so thankful for Taylor during a very stressful flat buying process. He gracefully mediated between an impatient and unreasonable seller and our solicitor who was basically just very bad at her job. He was always very responsive to emails and calls and was transparent about the situation which was sometimes confusing to us as first time buyers. The level of care made us feel like we were the only people he was dealing with although he must have had so much on, and without him the deal would have surely fallen through. I would 10000% recommend him and Foxtons anyone asking. Whatever this man is on, he needs a raise! Cheers Taylor :-)

Avoid

My experience with Foxtons has been nothing short of disappointing, particularly when it comes to addressing maintenance issues in the property they manage. The breaking point came when a door in my rented property became dysfunctional, and Foxtons showed no urgency or willingness to resolve the issue.Despite reporting the broken door promptly, Foxtons failed to take any meaningful action. It's baffling how a seemingly simple problem could be so grossly mishandled. Their lack of responsiveness and negligence in attending to basic maintenance concerns is simply unacceptable. What's even more frustrating is the complete lack of communication from their end. It's as if they hoped the problem would magically disappear if they ignored it for long enough. Well, surprise, surprise, it didn't. Instead, I was left to deal with the inconvenience and discomfort of living with a malfunctioning door, all while Foxtons turned a blind eye to the issue. To make matters worse, attempts to follow up and escalate the matter were met with indifference and excuses. It's abundantly clear that Foxtons prioritizes profit over the well-being and satisfaction of their tenants. Their lack of accountability and failure to fulfill their responsibilities as property managers is utterly appalling. In conclusion, if you're considering renting a property managed by Foxtons, I strongly urge you to think twice. Don't subject yourself to the frustration and inconvenience of dealing with a company that couldn't care less about the state of their properties or the satisfaction of their tenants. Look elsewhere for a more competent and reliable estate agent.
