TrustpilotGreat experience with Foxton lettings.
Great experience with Foxton lettings.I have had a great experience with Foxton lettings organising the tenancy of a 1 bed flat in Stevenage. Mohammed and Matt were helpful and attentive throughout, even putting up with my unnecessary level of detail with tenancy agreement! Their portal is easy to use and have so far had absolutely no issues (easy to access documents/sign etc.).

TrustpilotLook for Anne Battumur if you are buying in Chelsea
We were purchasing a new rental property from Foxton, Anne was very professional and knowledgeable. She knows the property inside out as well as the area. She also organised the viewings very well, every property she brought us to was really nice.Throughout the process she was really patience and responsible, I dont think we would complete the transaction without her liaising with all the parties.

TrustpilotExcellent Property Manager
Aga Witkowska has been our property manager for about two years. She is friendly, very efficient, professional and responds promptly to queries from tenants and landlord. She keeps us fully informed and endeavours to resolve difficult issues with tenants and contractors. She also monitors the cost of repairs, which is a bonus for landlords. Aga goes the extra mile. Thank you Aga.

Trustpilotdeposit
When they need to rent properly they are super quick, when they need to return the deposit it takes ages.Update: After I provide details they left comments below.I had to reach them 3 times and asked for a deposit, you must tell them that you want your deposit back and take action because they will not do anything. I can see on my Foxtons account that the deposit is paid to me on 15.11.2022 ( still did not reach my bank account), so not 14.11.2022 as you Foxton guys say.

TrustpilotAvoid Foxtons completely
Foxtons were the worst agency I have dealt with within my nine years renting in London. They lied to us continuously, never got anything fixed, and reached out to renew the tenancy with a massive price increase on the rent, to which the landlord had never agreed and in fact had no interest in renewing, leaving us with only 18 days to find somewhere to live after agreeing to stay in the properly and pay the increased rent amount. They will go weeks without answering you at a time, leave you in a house with major issues, and give you poor advice. We moved in under false promises of getting three specific things fixed within one month of the move in date and it turns out the landlord had never heard of these three things and never would have agreed to this clause. Renting through Foxtons felt like taking on another full time job in the amount we had to chase, argue, and beg for things to get sorted.

TrustpilotSeamless
Excellent experience from day 1! Seamus was incredible, he really listened to our requirements and found us a property suited to our needs. Even after the offer was accepted, he's helped us through the entire paperwork and has been incredible to work with. Highly recommend Foxtons, and would give a big shout out to Seamus for making a very complicated process seem easy.

TrustpilotScam
Scam. Won’t return my deposit. First it was the condition of the flat, well I have video of it when I left of how pristine it was so now they changed it to, “never paid august rent,” which I have then proof they rented out the flat for AUGUST. No remarks from them then. Then they try to pin a council tax on me, which I had to show I was a full time student so i was exempt - I got exempt from them. Now, crickets. they are horrible horrible agents and money grabbers. No reason but made up ones for not returning my deposit.

TrustpilotOne star is too much for Foxtons
One star is too much for Foxtons. They deserve less than zero. Their service is ridiculous. We rented a flat with a broken boiler, a big mouldy wall, and a leaking ceiling from Foxtons. We have had these problems for more than 8 months. They don't care about our problems. Stay away from Foxtons.Edit: Foxton asked me for more details. All details are in our account on the Foxtons page with lots of photos and videos from the house. I spend my time the last 8 months explaining myself to the Foxtons. I don't want to spend anymore. How you can rent a house with a leaking roof and mouldy walls? Is it your usual working style?

TrustpilotRude and Indifferent, avoid at all cost!!
Renting for 15 years in London and Foxtons is the most disorganised and rude agency I’ve ever encountered.- They failed to deliver the property clean as per our contract. We got the keys and walked in an unacceptably dirty flat which we had to clean ourselves.- the property manager [ Carolina Faistino] responds every 3 weeks elusively to the serious health and safety issues raised. - they have emailed us an outstanding bill of a different tennant alongside attachments identifying them and their bank details! They didn’t even care to apologise for this.- we are asked to report issues to a webapp called my Foxtons - these issues are never addressed and when we speak to agents they are never aware of them.Their only contribution is to collect rent and charge fees and they honestly make renting a lot worse as an experience. Such negligence and indifference is shocking, avoid at all cost!

TrustpilotLandlords beware
I bought a flat through these guys, in June, tenant in-situ, it’s almost September, I don’t even know the name of the tenant, let alone receive the rent that I’m owed.Echoing many of the other reviews, they are massively reluctant to put anything into writing. Escalated to The Property Ombudsman now.Hi Sophie,I’ve gone about as far as I can with Foxtons complaints procedure, I’ve received your inadequate final response letter. Being unsatisfied, I have escalated to the Ombudsman. I hope they will levy an appropriate penalty on Foxtons commensurate with the distress experienced and time I’ve had to waste on this saga.Following up with yourself will only lead to longer lead time and more time wasted. Have zero faith in your complaints resolution process, and will advise anyone else embarking on a deal with yourselves to be wary of the same.Best,S

We recently purchased our house through foxton. Oshea and Giles were extremely helpful throughout, and made the stress of finding and new home, and moving much easier. Both were always easily contactable and the use of WhatsApp made things a lot easier, rather than waiting on hold or for a call back. Thank you both for helping us move into our dream home!

TrustpilotGood luck getting anything done
Moving to a new place should be a joyful experience, foxtons took all the joy out of it.After I found a place I liked, a place which I placed an offer on for more than the asking price, my offer was accepted. In the past my experience renting was smooth sailing once an offer is accepted, with foxtons it took 3 weeks to get them to let go of constant requests for more and more and more, it became more work than my job to finish their process! from proof of IDs for my family who are not paying any rent on the property! something I never done before! that included back and forth documents that I had to produce such as changing a utility bill to wife's name only to get a proof of address for no apparent reason, to getting her to go and produce official documents to replace her expired documents that we never needed, to multiple proof of IDs for me, to proof of address (even though my address is going to be where you rent me!), to work refrences and getting my colleagues to actually take time from their demanding scheduele to answer questions about me, to needless weekend early morning calls about utilities that I don't want! to the payment which I asked to be delayed few hours until I finish work and get home, but the property manager insisted I leave work, take an hour and a half trip home only to make the payment (phone payments have a limit of £2000 and you need a pin device with your online banking to process a payment larger than that) in the middle of a busy scheduele on a Friday! and the irony is that I'm not even moving before next year! I'm not sure if this is the same process for everyone or if I was singled out! This whole process was so stressful, all to rent a place that I'll pay thousands of pounds on for two years at least, now I'm worried about what will happen when I actually need help with anything while renting, I hope someone reads this and sends me a confirmation that I won't be bothered anymore by the people I'll be paying. I don't expect them to understand that the customer is always right, I just hope that they understand the customer wants them to stop bothering him!

We can assure you that you definitely weren't singled out, and we apologise if the process seemed complex, this is of course not how we want our prospective tenants to feel. We look forwards to welcoming you to your tenancy when it begins in January. Thank you, Sophie

TrustpilotReisse Morrison is a chancer and a liar
It's coming up to a year that I've been renting a flat in Colindale, and recently I started receiving emails from their "Renewals Negotiator" by the name of Reisse Morrison, at first he wanted to know how long I want to renew for, and then he tried his luck at raising the rent using all sorts of scammy tactics and lies. I told him if my rent goes up, I go out of the flat, I'll look elsewhere as I'm not happy to stay in a flat where my rent goes up every 12 months and me being a good tenant that pays on time isn't taken into account.I then met and spoke with landlady directly and she said she never asked for a rent increase, it was purely Foxtons' initiative, we agreed to renew the lease at same rate. But this Reisse character kept chancing it with new offers of a rent hike, albeit slightly less than the £125 hike he tried on me at first. He even tried scare tactics on the phone, telling me if he doesn't get my approval that very day the property will go on the market. All of this was not in line with what the landlady instructed them. I felt that this was a very dodgy tactic as whether I agree to rent hike or I decide to leave, they win, as they'll get more fees if I agree to the hike and they'll get more fees if I leave as they'll make extra fees for finding new tenant. Not really acting in the landlord's interests are they? Good tenants are hard to come by, and if the new tenant turns out to be a bad payer or trashes the place then the landlord loses out and has to pay more to Foxtons for that privilege.I do wonder if they have internal incentives to have high tenant churn rate so they can make extra fees bringing in new tenants, and fleece as much money out of the landlord as they can.
Vladimir · 18 October 2022
Agent replied · 10 June 2024
Hi Vladimir, Having looked into this with our renewals team we understand that your review isn't a fully accurate account as to what happened. The landlady instructed us to manage her property, which means communication would always go through us as your relationship is with us, and not the landlady directly. Our renewals team didn't try and increase the rent unnecessarily, the rent increase is in line with the current rental market. If a tenant doesn't wish to stay in the property, naturally the landlady will put the property back on the market, and we would always work in our landlord's best interest. Thank you, Sophie

TrustpilotAvoid - dishonest sales tactics risk wasting your time and money
I would strongly discourage anyone from selling with Foxtons. I have gone to market twice with Foxtons. Do not be drawn in by the higher marketing price they pitch - they are unlikely to achieve it and instead will waste time before recommending a price adjustment. My own experience epitomised the underhanded, dishonest, and deceitful tactics associated with the worst sales practices. In my instance a misrepresented, falsified cash offer resulted in a contrived sale that ultimately collapsed costing both parties time and money as a result. I understand from previous investigations that there is a documented track record of the same and a culture of deceit across the Foxton Group. You only have to look at their historical share price - big talk, launch large but when it comes down to it, fail to deliver.

TrustpilotLIED about professional clean + unhelpful on move-in process
Foxtons was the letting negotiator for my new flat in London who were responsible for the professional clean of my flat before move in. Not only did Foxtons lie about having my new flat professionally cleaned, but they were unhelpful in issuing a recall for a new clean on my flat. I ended up having to clean up the previous tenants mess myself as I could not bear living in the mess for any longer. Foxtons uses a service called Ions to have their flats cleaned and even the worked at Ions are completely unprofessional. DO NOT let with them. While they seemed professional when i was looking for a flat they were completely unhelpful when it came to actually moving-into the flat.
