Very poor property management. Avoid.

Foxtons have been managing my property in South East London for several months. They have provided a very poor experience which they have acknowledged. Incredibly slow responses times, sending invoices for repair works to replace parts from a vendor I had already paid for replacing the exact same part weeks before. Sending bills for works that weren't done. Not showing photos or videos to prove problems exist or to prove works have been completed - which they had agreed they would. Sending very high quotes for working that didn't need doing at all. Keeping me waiting 50 days for a property inspection they promised for 7 Feb - it is still pending. Never being proactive. Always complete silence for days and weeks until I send a note trying to get to the bottom of issues. Belated apologies and then no positive changes. A repeating pattern.

He has always gone the extra mile for me and my family throughout the whole process. Saad is not only a great agent but also a wonderful human being. As a tenant

As a tenant, I would avoid this estate agent if you have any sense of self-respect. Quite poor during renewal negotiations and extremely rude behavior by their renewals letting negotiator even after having years of an unblemished record. We were at a disadvantage due to our personal circumstances, however we have seen first hand how greed (£200 per month) and sales targets are more important than reputation / client relations.They care only about their commission without due regard to the landlord's future earnings or the tenant's well being.Lack of communication, coercion, harassment and arm twisting for negotiating a rent increase leading to us having to pay a rent increase of 20% over our previous rent (with a market currently at 10 percent inflation). Even though this leads to short term gains for the client, it would lead to loss of clients, since we would never trust Foxtons for future rentals and sales / buying. Avoid like the plague.

The customer service that myself and my…

The customer service that myself and my flatmates have received from Foxtons has been ridiculous. We have been living in our flat for 3 weeks now and haven't been able to eat a proper meal due to our cooker being unsafe to use and it not being replaced. Their relationship with the landlord is clearly bad due to nothing being fixed. We lived in our flat for 2 weeks without a smoke alarm due to one not being fitted before the tenancy. Our contract has been breached numerous times and we have received zero compensation or accountability for the amount of stress that the three of us have had to go through. Do not rent with Foxtons.

Illegal activity

Have nothing to do with my tenancy until they take over as estate agent and illegally request £900 rent increase in 7 days on a rent contract that has a rent review clause and less than two week after the landlord sent agents to the property without notice 3 times in one week. Criminal behaviour isn’t cute guys-obviously this will be taken further but I thought I would warn others.Update: because I have a rent review clause and by law the landlord can only have one rent increase a year it was illegal. I have also been harassed by the landlord continuously, including their agents entering my property with master keys while I was showering without permission and sitting on my floor outside the bathroom door. What you have done is illegal and when I pointed it out you put notice on my tenancy instead of apologising. So you are criminals harassing a disabled woman. Don’t try and justify the situation. Further illegal activity didn’t come as a shock to me as the landlord has been supported in illegal activity for some time now.And I have had an illegal visit again today!

Incompetent lettings management

We are tenants who rented our flat via Foxton's in late 2022.Pros: smooth closing. everything is electronic. Rauf, the agent who closed the lease, answered questions promptly.Cons: The lease management department at this Foxton's branch is unfortunately not competent. They hired a vendor to do the cleaning but when we entered the flat, it was utterly filthy. Rauf tried his best to fix this problem, and connected us with the cleaning vendor. But it was obvious when the crew came back a few days later to clean the omissions (ie, most of the flat), that they are not a professional cleaning crew. Not only did they not do a thorough cleaning, they were also extremely unprofessional when we pointed out the omissions that they chose to ignore - saying things like 'we're not cleaning this, you clean it', responding to us in their native language (Romanian) with a tone that was very clearly accusative, etc.It's been over 3 weeks since we moved in, and the flat is yet to undergo actual professional cleaning, not the joke of a cleaning that was done here. Disappointing, especially considering that they charge the landlord nearly £300 for the clean.

Aggressive, cocksure and arrogant

Where to begin with Foxtons?! They are structurally defective. Above all, what has deluded us about this experience of attempting to buy is the arrogant, aggressive, cocksure attitude of the estate agents we’ve had to deal with. They force you into increasing your offer, mislead you about the background to a property, try to speed through a sale, harassing and haranguing you to move at their pace and are utterly incapable of negotiating between the two parties. We’ve been alternately lied to, fobbed off, ignored and hassled. I will never ever even do a viewing on a Foxtons property ever again, far less begin to proceed on a purchase. They are purposefully vague about the history of a property and its condition, even though they know far more than they pretend to. They couldn’t even manage to get our surveyor into the property due to a cockup with keys!. If I could get less than one-star, I most certainly would. Avoid like the plague.

We originally signed our contract with a different agency but when Foxtons bought them out everything was very professionally handled and we saw the benefits of being with a larger agency. Tenacity and good service

I have experienced good service and tenacious attention to making sure that the sale of my property happened. Louis Benmax and Nick Wiley were on the ball and looked at different solutions to deliver the result. Whilst I was little disappointed with the price achieved, I also recognise that it isn't a seller's market and things change quickly. Most importantly, the sale happened which was key.

Avoid the New Homes office.

Avoid the New Homes office.Had an estate agent called Chekira Carty who oversaw an attempted house purchase. Main driver of the problem was something to do with her commission structure where she was rewarded for early completion - it meant that she lied throughout the process to speed things up. Personal highlight was when I was sent the wrong contract by the vendor's solicitor; her solution was that I should sign it and send it back, and the details could be changed after.
