UPDATEFollowing my post below, I was contacted by Sonia a director at Dexter’s Kingston. It was in fact their board not the Surbiton branch that had been in place for so long. Sonia listened to my issue, apologised and assured me it would be dealt with immediately. Which it was. The board was removed today. I only wish I had contacted the Kingston office first as it would have saved me a lot of time. In light of the way Sonia dealt with the issue at hand, I have reviewed my initial rating appropriately and would like to thank her for her prompt attention. I contacted the Surbiton rental team on 25th June 2021. I received an automated response letting me know that one of the team would be in contact shortly. The reason for my contact was a request that they remove their LET Estate Agent sign from a neighbouring property to mine. The LET sign has been up for well over a year. (In fact if you search for the address on Google street view the sign is there and streetview was last updated in 2019). It has now been 4 weeks since my contact and the sign is still there and I have received no response at all from Dexter’s.Surely they use some sort of reminder system instructing their sign contractors to remove SOLD or LET signs from a property after 14 days? If they don’t maybe they should.

Used Dexter’s Putney branch to rent a property. Lettings department is disorganised, chaotic and defensive when questioned/challenged. When it came to us moving out we were given barely any notice for viewings, putting pressure on us to accept viewings without 24 hours notice. Additionally agents knew nothing about the property and were asking us during viewings whether the property was furnished etc, very unprofessional.Property management (not based in Putney) is even worse. Our property manager was constantly changing/leaving with no communication from Dexter’s. To get issues resolved took forever and we even had a number of Maintenance issues never resolved. Getting deposit back took months, blamed & charged for things that were already there and listed in original inventory. Only positive is once deposit amount was agreed it came back quickly.

DO NOT USE DEXTERS MUSWELL HILLas management agents they leave a lot to be desired, my apartment was flooded due to poor workmanship on their side, plumbers working for Dexters caused a water tank to explode ABOVE MY FLAT and unfortunately my apartment was severely flooded and this was Last year 2020 the worst ever christmas ever spent thanks to Dexters who haven’t shown any interest in repairs to my apartment, so far is a battle between Dexters and the insurers - neither is looking to seriously pay for damages caused- DO NOT USED DEXTERS MANAGEMENT AGENTS they are expensive and a money grabbing company that delivers nout !!!!

I’ve been trying to rent one property they kept posting on their website and on right move since March 2021, first time in March I’ve been ignored like I was a ghost so I just gave up, I saw the same property online few days ago and I want to highlight that it was just few days ago the release on the website and I applied straight away for a viewing with no response, so I proceeded to call the branch asking to apply for the property even without viewing it , as I know was what I was looking for, they punctually repeated me for at least 3 calls that the department of letting a weren’t on office and they couldn’t accept any offer because they were sales, the last time was on Saturday evening and I asked the agent to specifically check if the property was available and he said yes and to call on Monday to put down the offer. Which I did after also send an email with the offer, but the property obviously was already rented.Do you even look at your emails or at your website enquires before accepting any offer? I specifically said I would have paid 3 months in advance and move in about 7 days and being ignored over an offer like this when the agent already knows I can provide any documents they needs is just frustrating.If you can’t do your work properly don’t.By the way, the property is still on on the website, I’m even wondering if is a ghost property they use just to attract people

Dexters West Hampstead sales branch is tucked away in a corner street and is quite easy to miss.But it houses really great agents.I was assigned Chris Neal by the managers who at first appeared a little shaky but quickly matured and picked up pace.He delivered far more than I expected. He took the initiative to spearhead issues and resolve problems as they occurred.Sales deal would easily have faltered had he not stitched together all the moving pieces.Greatly appreciate his candor.

Dexter's was on our shortlist of 3 local agents for the sale of our house in Chiswick. Our first impressions of them were largely good overall, but the family eventually agreed unanimously on an alternative agent with favourable terms and who gave a better presentation.Out of politeness, I called Dexter's to inform them of our decision and offer feedback.Unfortunately, this is where the professionalism ended, and I immediately wished I hadn't bothered to make the call.Maybe they were having a bad day, but instead of accepting our decision in a graceful manner, I was subjected to a high pressured and over-aggressive challenge, questioning our ability to make a reasoned decision, not just from the first team member I spoke to, but then passed on to the 'Director' who handled our valuation for another hard sell, and finally some insulting language (including the F word!) levelled against the agent we had chosen.Generally I don't believe in burning bridges, but in this case Dexter's definitely lit the blue touchpaper.Edit: Following the initial feedback below, I received a call from an area manager to apologise unreservedly and explain that this was definitely not the kind of response that I shoud have received from them.
