After two months of searching for a property to rent in North London, and having seen over 10 properties and been disappointed many times by the agencies, finally, we met Cristopher Charles estates agents, specially to Jamie Davies who after listening to our requirements found a home for us. Once he found a property that fit our needs, we were able to rent it out in a short period of time thanks in part to the hard work and excellent job of Jamie Davies. We found our experience of working with Jamie Davies of Christopher Charles Estate Agent to be totally professional and most importantly honest and forthright. As first-time buyers previously missing out on properties to cash buyers, we had gone through the motions of dozens of viewings and offers. After falling for the flat right away, Elle was so quick to present and submit our offer form that it helped show the sellers how keen we were. Poor service, very disorganised and poor communication

Dexters Clapham - Poor service, very disorganised and poor communication. My housemates and I were coming to the end of our tenancy and had booked a moving van to move our belongings out of the flat. The afternoon that the moving van arrived, we came home only to discover that a member of dexters locked the other deadbolt of the door to our flat of which we didn’t have a key (we never received the key and attempted to contact them several times prior regarding this but they didn’t respond so we did not have the additional key for the other deadbolt lock during the duration of our tenancy). A member of the team had entered our flat to show a prospective tenant the flat and that’s when they locked the deadbolt lock. Naturally we attempted to make contact with a member at the office so they could unlock it for us. According to the website and their office, Clapham Dexters closes for the day at 20:00. We tried several times to contact them with no luck and we even tried to go to their office to seek help but there was no one there!!!! It was around 17:30-18:00 when we got home to find the deadbolt locked this so to discover that there was no one in the office during the indicated office hours when we tried to seek help... We were very upset!After multiple attempts, we finally got in touch with someone who said that they could get someone to come and unlock our flat door in 2 HOURS. At this point, the moving van had already arrived and we were getting charged by the hour while we were waiting for someone from dexters to unlock our door. We did indeed end up waiting 2 hours. The dexters representative we finally got a hold of on the phone told us that we’d be able to get compensation for time we were charged for the moving van while we waited for dexters to sort the problem, but when we reached out about this, they ignored us completely and it took us reaching out to several people and sending several emails before someone replied to our query, which was a week + later. When someone finally responded, they refused to take any responsibility, let alone arrange compensation for their error. Our biggest issue was not that the deadbolt was locked but it was the fact that there was no one in the office during the hours of business it should be open according to the website/office so that someone could assist us and sort out the problem that THEY caused!!!!! It is also appalling that it took 2+ hours for them to sort out the problem thus costing us money out of our own pockets!!!!!!!! Special shout out to Dunica Sinclair who used the cop out excuse that the person who locked the door was a “trainee”. This isn’t an excuse as to why it took someone 2+ hours to come and help us. Perhaps she needs to ensure that she trains her team properly and that she ensures that she has staff working at the office during all business hours of each day as indicated. Your customer service skills needs some work. You too Edward Jenner - you took DAYS to reply to our queries but you would happily send us emails telling us you’ve arranged for someone to view the flat as our tenancy comes to an end. Also, there was a change of date to our end of tenancy which we confirmed with our landlord weeks prior to end of tenancy. We sent this information to dexters, but it took multiple emails from us to them regarding this and weeks for them to amend the date. They ignored the communication from us but kept sending us emails without the date amended. They can’t even organise the process of the end of tenancy properly! We also had to constantly make contact post end of tenancy so we could get our deposit back… it took another whole month before they released this to us. If we didn’t make contact on multiple occasions, we probably still wouldn’t have our deposit back. They’re quick to take your money but treat you like trash when you’re leaving. I know of several other people who had a similar experience with this real estate agency. Never will I deal with Dexters again! Proceed with caution…

We just sold our home with Dexters Tooting and they were incredible from start to finish. I was wary about estate agents generally but Dexters quashed all my doubts immediately. They offered us a very competitive valuation and a great rate and they were so quick to set up photos and organise viewings. I purchased a property with Dexters Westbourne Grove recently and the general experience was a nightmare for both myself and the agents. I worked with Charlie who was FANTASTIC - he actually managed to save the sale at one point through amazing negotiation skills. Worst experience with the agency

Worst experience with the agency, I decided to move out the apartment earlier because living conditions were unbearable. As such early tenancy move outs require a penalty, I was told by an agent a sum and that it is a fixed amount regardless if they will find a new tenant or I will, the total sum stays the same.Come to find out 2 months later that this in fact was not true and I could’ve saved almost 2K if I found a tenant myself. Agent was denying ever saying those terms to me to the point it was easier to pay the sum than start the negotiations with big agency. Would not recommend to use them or be very careful with every communication and have it crystal clear via emails.
