Great experience with Dexters

We have recently used Dexters to find out next home and have had an offer agreed. Alice was our main point of contact and she showed us a few lovely places and helped us find the perfect home for us. We have had some bad experiences over the last couple of years with other agents and found Alice's honest and informative style a breath of fresh air.

Dexter's has been a pleasure to work with in the current renting market. The property is lovely, well maintained (special thanks to Jessica Beau Wright for always being on top of things) and all around the experience has been hassle free, unlike many other estate agents I've had before.Nice one!

Let down by poor communication within the company

Unfortunately we were let down by this letting agent yesterday. We had a 6pm viewing for a house in Hayes, I drove 1h in rush hour traffic to visit the property and on arriving I was met by the agent who informed me that the locks had been changed that day and his key did not work, so we could not access the property.He was very apologetic and I understand he was also frustrated as he himself had spent 45 minutes travelling to the property.He did offer to rearrange a viewing but I was so disappointed in the lack of organisation (how can it be that locks are changed and the letting agent/property managers are not informed?) and frustrated at the waste of my time and petrol (2 hours round trip) that I will not be using this company going forwards.I would have left 1 star but the letting agent was truly apologetic and did remain professional in the situation.

A huge ‘Than you’ to Paris Marshall Senior Property Manager at Dexters for his speedy response, kindness, attentiveness and professionalism. Paris arranged for the Khinda Building Works Ltd to attend our premises to conduct some repairs. I was very impressed with the contractor’s skills to resolve three different repairs within such a short time. The communication was smooth and the contractor was very punctual. 10/10 for effort at business winning 0/10 for performance!…

We were badgered by Dexter’s for years so decided last summer to instruct them on a letting. They over promised on the rent they could achieve so we missed the window to secure tenants before the autumn. We also then instructed them to sell as we were receiving no rent . They failed to produce a single credible offer on either basis. We instructed Goldschmidts who found a buyer and at a strong price within a matter of weeks. I’m prompted to write today as we received probably the third cold call from Dexters as the old property is now for rent via the new owners . We told Dexters on at least 2 previous occasions that we had sold the property so I wish they could be more efficient/ professional in all they do.

Really smooth process to rent a flat thanks to Sarah. Did an online viewing through WhatsApp (while I was on holidays) and then was able to visit the flat in person with her the next week. She was super helpful, really nice and answered all of my questions. Would recommend her to anyone !

I had my inspection today with Monika and I honestly just wanted to give some feedback… I have only had her as my property manager for a matter of months but cannot fault her work rate, effort or dedication! She is a true asset to Dexter’s, was fabulous to finally meet her and I really hope she sticks around as she is so quick at providing solutions! Clearly someone who really cares about her job and the people she is working for/with… feel very supported and well looked after!

I decided to use Dexters after another agent was unable to sell my property and received an offer via Dexters ( a few weeks later). The team was friendly and process of putting it on market and viewings was easy. I have used this estate agent incompetent stafffor…

I have used this estate agent for letting my property for nearly 4 years. For the first three years, I couldn’t fault them, but the staff have Changed hands and I would not recommend them. The majority of staff are incompetent they make so many mistakes and their Fees are high. I did complain to the director and it was a waste of my time. My last tenancy agreement they failed to put in a break clause and I’m now unable to break free of them unless I give them vast amounts of money. Although I have to ride this out, I will not be using them again in the future. I do not recommend them.

Nikki, Mary-Ann & Myra are absolute HEROES!

I've lived in London for 9 years, and since renting from different agencies, it's been a mixed bag. Dexters has been without a doubt the best by far when it comes to their property management team (SE London team). Myra originally secured the property for us, and throughout our 3 years she was an absolute angel, addressing property maintenance issues quickly whilst communicating perfectly, always on the other end of the phone.I was introduced during our final year to Nikki and Mary-Ann, and the level of care and attention they gave our end of tenancy was second to none. Having worked in lettings myself, I would've killed to have a team like this. Immensely personable, always willing to meet in the middle and always on the other end of the phone.As a tenant, having people of this calibre supporting you is crucial in a city where agents are often careless. Dexters have managed to bring the mindset, care and attention of a small, local agency to a large company. Hats off to them!
