Jilka has been so helpful in finding us our perfect apartment. She has been extremely responsive at all times of day and night (!) which I believe goes above and beyond any professional expectations. She has been really warm and friendly and made finding a place to live a really enjoyable and easy experience - she has facilitated us to the best of her ability, be that additional viewings or extra information, and explained everything really clearly for us. Very unprofessional experience

Very unprofessional experience with Dexters Acton. Total waste of time!I've just relocated to London, and it's the first letting agency we've ever worked with. At first, everything was fine...until we've successfully placed our holding deposit and finished our reference checks. The referencing agent informed us to communicate with our letting agent, Lara-Rose Elsi. So we called and emailed her for a status update. However, we haven't got any replies since then - not even from her colleagues - NO FOLLOW-UPS AT ALL! After one week or two, another Dexters agent got back to me. He said Lara was not around (again!), and the landlord decided not to rent us the property one week before (what?). We were in total shock. Why didn't they tell me right away? Why didn't they have any official or written confirmation? They simply left me there waiting and wasting my time! I could have started looking for other properties much earlier if they told me the landlord had decided to pull out!I don't understand why a "professional" letting agency can operate like this. It's okay for an agent not feeling well or takes a week off - it's totally fine and I understand that - I just don't see why they have poor communication, and they simply don't have other staff members to follow up with my case when the original agent is not available. Advice: Stay away from this unprofessional agency!

Very poor experience with Dexters

I don't want to name any individuals or even the branch, but our experience trying to sell our house through Dexters in North London was very poor. They exerted a lot of pressure to reduce the price, which may or may not have been the right advice. But in my view they overstepped the mark in how pushy they were. One employee felt the need to remind me they weren't getting paid anything until they sold the house. Another employee couldn't disguise his anger when I accepted an offer through another agent, and then asked them to cancel their viewings. I can understand why they were disappointed, but they couldn't compute that I'd in effect shaken hands on another deal, and thought it unethical and pointless to have further viewings at that stage. They also subsequently refused to mark our property as 'sold subject to conditions' (as requested), arguing that it was in our interests not to do this. Like other agents they were clearly reliant on Rightmove and the other aggregators for leads, though (like other agents) they claimed to have an amazing database outside that. The senior guy talked a very good game at the start to win the business, but then pretty much disappeared completely. The attitude of staff clearly stems from an aggressive culture at the top of the food chain which becomes expected of employees. I don't blame junior staff, they are just trying to exhibit the type of behaviour that is rewarded within the organisation. Agencies like this have a limited shelf life.

She organised a viewing for us in a short time frame, was punctual to all the viewings and took time to answer every question we had, even when further communication was required with the landlord. We signed an agreement for a price that was negotiated down thanks to Jilka. Our past experience of agents has not been positive however having received such strong and diligent service from Jilka I can say that I would not think twice about dealing with Dexters again. Substandard service, use at your peril

I can honestly say, Dexters Acton is the worst Estate Agents I have had the misfortune of using, over my many years of owning and selling properties. I have to give the most ineffective and uncommunicative award to Julian Kroll, who is an ‘old school’ salesman, with little substance.I urge anyone wanting to sell or indeed Let their property, NOT to use this agent, as in my opinion, you will be very disappointed with the service…you have been warned.
