GoogleAvoid at all cost!! We had a terrible experience with Dexters so far. The flat we are renting has had issues after issues since we moved in. It started with mice in the ceiling and a pungent smell for months in our study room, for which they sent a pest control company spraying product against bugs (which obviously didn’t help), until we gave up with the agency and handled the situation ourself. Then we had a water leak in the garden damaging our neighbours’ property, we emailed several times but they never sent a plumber, but instead a gardener to remove leaves from the gutters; until our neighbours paid themselves for a plumber to fix the issue at our address. Then we had electrical issues with plugs in the study making half the flat trip due to humidity in the wall, for which they sent British Gas 6 times but never managed to get the right quote approved, so we only had it half fixed (broke the ring circuit and lower the flat’s voltage instead of fixing the issue entirely). And since December we now have a water leak and mouldy wall in our bathroom, damaging again the neighbours’ house. Dexters sent multiple companies to get the cheapest quote possible and probably get the job half done. Whilst several builders said the bathroom would have to be entirely redone and it would probably take several weeks to be properly fixed and let the wall dry before putting new tiles; which will be an issue as this is our only bathroom and has the toilet in there. In parallel we also have another electric problem with half the flat tripping when we try to turn on the lights in the living room, this every time it rains, so probably another leak coming from the roof. We kindly asked to find a solution for us to leave before the end of our contract so they can conduct all the necessary work and find new tenants, but they don’t seem to like this idea as it would probably impact their commission. We are fed up with Dexters services, and extremely disappointed; we thought we found a really nice flat but it turned into a nightmare and health hazard. The team seems always professional on emails and on the phone, but nothing ever gets done. I wouldn’t recommend this agency to any tenants or landlords, unless you like your property to fall into shambles for the sake of profitability.
