She gave me some great recommendations and answered my questions in such a helpful way. GoogleI bought my Shad Thames flat with Cluttons in 2005, rented it with them as managing agents 2011-2023 and sold it through them in 2023. The sale was handled by Alex Chapalain, who was responsive, empathetic and pragmatic in making sure we got the deal done. I recommend the professionalism and responsiveness of the Cluttons Tower Bridge team, and in particular Alex.

GoogleFine whilst we lived there, a nightmare when trying to move out. Firstly, will make up reasons to get money back from the deposit - which we didn't bother contesting much. But then will fail to pay back the deposit and LIE to you that they have processed it constantly. It has now been 3 months and we are now having to pursue legal proceedings just to get money back. A awful company and experience. See trustpilot for a similarly consistent experience by many.

GoogleCluttons seems to have an issue with returning deposits. More than five weeks after moving out they have yet to return mine, and are not responding to e-mails or returning calls. A friend of mine had the exact same experience and had to open a dispute with the deposit protection service to get his deposit back. Do not trust Google Maps reviews - on Trustpilot they have a 1.9/5 star rating with a flurry of similar stories. I will not be renting through them again. Update: I tried sending an e-mail to the address they provided below, but there is no response. I still didn't get my deposit back.

GoogleI recently sold my apartment in Shad Thames through Cluttons Tower Bridge branch. The guidance and service I received was truly first-class. George from the Sales team provided excellent advice on optimal pricing and marketing, and was then able to whip up interest and secure a serious buyer incredibly quickly despite challenging market conditions. Moreover, the service I received throughout the sales process itself was genuinely outstanding - I couldn't have asked for more! From beginning-to-end the whole sales process was executed flawlessly, so hats off to Cluttons and George. I can wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who's looking to sell a property in the area. 5-stars.

TrustpilotAvoid Cluttons Estate Agency, A Nightmare Experience
Our experience renting a property through Cluttons was nothing short of appalling. The property, located on Smith Terrace, Chelsea, was advertised as a long-term unfurnished rental. The agent assured us repeatedly that the landlord sought a long-term tenant, which aligned with our requirements. However, this assurance turned out to be a facade.Initial Negotiations and False PromisesWe requested the removal of all furniture, consistent with the property being rented unfurnished. The agent assured us the landlord was "very flexible" and agreed to these terms. Yet, from the moment we moved in, the landlord exhibited bizarre and unprofessional behavior, refusing to acknowledge us in person and insisting on communication solely through written letters, which we dutifully complied with for six months.Mismanagement and Lack of SupportAfter six months, the landlord engaged Cluttons to manage the property again. During their inspection, we were commended for maintaining the property to a high standard. However, despite multiple follow-ups, we never received confirmation of the landlord's satisfaction. Instead, after just ten months, we were served a Section 21 notice to vacate the property with no explanation.Abrupt Eviction and Lack of CompassionDespite requesting a reasonable extension to find a new property during the challenging summer rental period, Cluttons offered no support. Their indifference compounded the stress of finding a new home. Eventually, we moved out, only to face further issues retrieving our deposit.Deposit Disputes and SilenceAfter moving out, the landlord made an unjustifiable claim, demanding Β£3,500 for the storage of furniture removed to fulfill the rental agreement. This charge was baseless, as the property was rented as unfurnished, and there was no mention of such fees in the contract. Cluttons remained unresponsive for weeks, only reappearing when we noticed the property was back on the market at a new price. Their excuse? "Thatβs held by a different team, not me".Final ThoughtsCluttons demonstrated blatant favoritism toward the landlord, failing to uphold their role as neutral managing agents. If youβre considering renting through Cluttons or looking at properties on Smith Terrace, think twice. Their lack of professionalism, poor communication, and disregard for tenant rights make them an agency to avoid.If the agency describes the landlord as "odd" (their word, not mine), take it as a red flag. Itβs a scam in disguise, enabling them to churn through tenants and create new contracts every year. Save yourself the frustration, look elsewhere!

Alex is very responsive and customer focussed but he also went that extra mile which makes a massive difference. Buying and.selling a home is always very stressful, but Alex made you feel that you were not on your own. Would definitely recommend him.
