Andrea Camerini, He showed me three rooms until I found the one I liked, and he never ask me to pay or set a limit on showing me rooms, which other agencies did (they showed me one, and if you wanted to see more, you had to pay). Every time we have a problem, he helps us solve it. Despite being a business, a reminder that it's an agency, in London, where there's limited supply and high demand, he helped me find a place where I'm content and happy.

I too disregarded the (multiple) negative google and Trustpilot reviews Cityrooms have. All I can say is that i'm glad my tenancy is over. Never rent from Cityrooms unless you're desperate for a room. If you do decide to rent with them, my advice is to take a video of the room you're moving into, when you move in and take a video when you move out (send these videos to the property manager when you move in and when you move out). TRUST ME! This saved me from being charged £100 in 'cleaning costs' which Cityrooms tried putting on me, but later overturned as I had the video evidence/email chain showing i sent the videos to the property manager. Bear in mind, when I moved in Cityrooms didn't clean ANYTHING. I had holes in the wall, dirty carpet, mouldy shower and blood stains on the wall, they had the audacity to try and take £100 from me despite cleaning the shower and carpet myself. I won't even get into how they gave my room away to someone else and didn't tell me (despite paying the £250 deposit 3 months in advance), only for me to rock up to their office on move in day to be notified. I had to sleep outside that day with all of my suitcases as I waited to get another room the following day. In conclusion, unless you're desperate don't rent with these people. In my opinion, they try squeeze every penny out of their tenants and are very disorganised.

Dear Kamau, we are sorry to hear you didn't have a great experience with us. Our current procedure is that when a tenant moves in, they will receive a 'check-in report', and then the tenants will check the property condition and compare it with the report, we encourage our customers to let us know if there are any discrepancies. Our staff has to listen to our customers and try to be as reasonable as we can. Best wishes, City Rooms

Absolutely disgusting agency. All they care about is their clients paying rent that’s it. Moved into a newly refurbished property last year so luckily didn’t have a lot of maintenance issues. But we had like 2 issues one was with the boiler which took them about more than 2 months to sort out. They start sending out reminder emails about rent even before the due date and try to threaten you saying that if you don’t pay then they’ll add late payment fee. Like how the hell do you expect people to pay even before the due date. None of their properties are clean and well maintained. I was in luck to get one cuz that was just refurbished by the land lord recently. My whole bag of cutleries went missing from the kitchen and I inform this to the lettings manager Giovvani. Every time you raise an issue with him all he would say is this has been passed on to the relevant department and they will get in touch with you but no one gets back to you. Another useless person is Claudia Caucca (so called property manager) who never replies to emails. The only thing they’re very prompt at is asking for money (sending out reminder emails) before due date so that the rent goes straight into their account as soon as possible. Horrific experience I don’t know how these guys are still running about their business with this sort of customer service. They’ve got horrible reviews all over the place i.e., Google, Reddit etc. wouldn’t recommend this agency whatsoever to anyone.

DO NOT RENT A ROOM WITH THIS AGENCY

DO NOT RENT A ROOM WITH THIS AGENCYPlease be aware that the vast majority of positive reviews are for helping to find accommodation but not during and/or after the tenancy. They lure you in and then leave you to it once they've got your deposit and money. The negative reviews are from people who have experience Cityrooms and have actually lived in their accommodation for an extended period of time. I lived in a room in London for 10 weeks. The only positive thing I can say about the company is that Andrea was helpful when trying to find a place - this makes sense because as soon as they've secured your money after signing the contract then they're not bothered about helping you out. The director, Jorge told me that if I were to be locked out of the house (which happened to me) or I'd forgotten my key they wouldn't treat it as an emergency and nothing would be done so I'd have to be on the streets until the next morning. However, having a power outage would be classed as an emergency. What!? There is no late night key service. The company is full of liars. Its no wonder the company has been flagged on trustpilot for 'misuse' (fake reviews). This place is corrupt. Get to know your fellow housemates BEFORE signing up to a tenancy agreement. I was locked out my house (the lock had a cache on it) multiple times by a fellow tenant. I asked the director Jorge to change the locks so I could access my room 24/7 that I was paying for (this should have been the case from day 1). He said that for the sake of £200 he wouldn't be willing to change the lock and suggested that I pay for the new lock. What?! I said no. When I left the property I was told that I'd marked some of the walls. Cityrooms wanted to charge me £50 for the damages to their walls. I told them that the marks were there before I moved in and I proved this by sending them photos. They said they'd take £25 off which I didn't accept. After further emails and a call with Jorge, they took the remaining £25 off. I asked them to send me an invoice they'd been issued for damages. There isn't an invoice - they'd plucked the number out of thin air. When I produced photos of the walls before I moved in - proving that I did not cause the marks, there was no apology for them accusing me of marking their walls when I had CLEAN evidence (Cityrooms accepted the evidence) it wasn't me. Simply rude. The employees are clueless and couldn't run a bath nevermind a business. Jorge also changed part of my contract centred around the electricity and gas costs midway through my tenancy. You need to find out if your house has an electricity and gas meter and find out exactly how much you'll be charged otherwise you'll end up paying more than you'd signed up for. You couldn't make this up! Avoid at all costs. Its not worth it trust me.

City Rooms final bill when you leave. Dishonest company do not sign up.

City Rooms is dealing with clients like this. Please do not sign up unless you want to end up with the same text from them. See under. Dishonest Company. They lie about keys, overused bills, they started to advertised by agents name instead of company name. Do not pay them. I moved into a honest household after I left them. I refused to pay bills without proof and smart meter installed. They forced me to move out in 30 days but they sent a bill for moving out ealier than the contract finished. At my new honest place with genuine landlord Smart meter displays on the 24th of the Months with current market situation electricity 47.33 pounds and gas 20.26 pounds. 4 people using the facilities. Same amount of people as in City rooms property. Here is the message from them. "Hi EvaThis is a message to let you know your managing agent, City Rooms, has submitted end of tenancy charges for £2257.51 for xxxx House Maida Vale. Double room.Head to our website to login (tenant.reposit.co.uk) to respond to the charges. You will need to respond on your dashboard within 7 days. Don't give them money until you’ve read the contract!!!!!!

Don't go with city rooms!! Ask to see contract before you put down deposit. The agent I spoke with was so pushy but I was desperate to find a room as it's very stressful looking for a room in London at the minute. Naively (and won't do this again) I sent the deposit over (holding and security) before looking at contract. Holding deposit was to take off market and security was for the my deposit scheme. I assumed as it was going to be held in a deposit scheme that my money would be safe and a refund would be easy to get should I not go through with property. Wrong. The contract was not what was promised. Bills are not really included and there were loads of really weird clauses in the contract. I decided to withdraw and at that point I had accepted I would not get the withholding deposit back (my fault) but thought I'd get my security deposit back. I messaged the agent I had been dealing with. No response for ages. Then was told that all of the deposit was non-refundable and I wouldn't get it back. I then decided to email the manager and remind them that not giving me back my security deposit was against the law and was theft. If anyone is going through the same thing threaten them with the Property redress scheme and small claims court! Finally, I got a response and they luckily refunded my money eventually. So stressful and completely taking advantage of people who need places quick!! I dread to think how much they've taken advantage of some people who aren't aware of the law surrounding deposits. Total scammers. They need to be reported. Ps don't believe any 5* reviews. Notice how they all have the same theme, mentioning agent directly etc.No doubt they’ll give me some rubbish reply on this. Whatever they say isn’t true the above is.

Excellent customer service from Naira. Naira gave me good advice when I needed to check with her thus giving me great confidence in her ability to work on my behalf. As I went to look for a room before the COVID crisis Naira kept in touch throughout, a very caring attitude. I would not hesitate in recommending city rooms.

I have been with City Rooms for three years now. I can only say the service they provide to their tangents is disappointing for the money they charge. I reported many problems online to maintenance related to my room specially boiler sound which is next to my room and paint coming off from on of the wall in my room. They are very slow. The cleaner is only available to clean once a month, and sometimes you don't expect the cleaner at all.

Cityrooms with Gabor was a walk in the park

I used the spareroom app and got in contact with Gabor who helped me through the entire process of finding a place, sending documents and signing the lease. Especially with covid-19 and finding an apartment virtually as an international, I was afraid of the challenges, but Gabor was extremely helpful and assisted me through every step.

I moved to the house. The heater was not working. They said they were sanding someone. It’s been 1 week and I got cold. They don’t care. They don’t show the room until they make the contract. After I moved demolition work started. The work starts at 7 in the morning and lasts until the evening. We haven't been able to sleep for a long time and our mental health is deteriorating. I asked for help to change our room. He has imposed on me the rooms with a high price. The other option is paying a fee to find another person. I demanded that the trouble I was experiencing was not caused by me and that he would make a discount on the fee or not take it at all. He calculated the loss the company would cause if he did not take the money from me. What a loss! they think about money rather than satisfaction. After contacting, they solved the situation very fast. Thank you.

Absolutely lack correspondence skills. They do not answer the phone and have made false promises of fixing the room before the day of moving but it uninhabitable, that we had to look for for another place to stay in the night. We’ve tried calling for over two weeks now, but there has been no proper response at all. The garden is overdue on its cleaning and it was supposed to be taken care of on the 6th, which was a working day but we took a day off only for it to be a no-show. Now we were asked to wait another entire month for a rescheduled date. Horrible agency, doesn’t help at all!

I wouldn’t advise engaging with this service. They asked me to pay a holding fee but continued to look for other tenants in the mean time. I have requested that they refund my holding fee and they have been promising to do so for the past week but have not yet done so. I wouldn’t encourage someone to deal with this company again. It has been a really difficult process. I went through the process of completing documentation, paying a fee and went through the whole reference check process to only find out that they continued to look for other tenants. I was also never informed on time of their decision to not continue on with my offer and had to be the one following up on the status of it. I literally had the agent mention that he was 99% sure I would get it and not to worry to only find out in the late afternoon that he went with a higher offer. It’s not okay to treat people that way and I really hope the company does better next time. Update: They returned my holding fee but despite me having signed a draft agreement and passed all my reference checks they told me that they couldn’t do anything about the situation and only apologised for what had happened. Bear in mind, that they did this 2 days prior to me moving into my apartment. I do think they could have worked harder to rectify the situation and offer the property to me since they did acknowledge that the situation was not handled well by the agent. But hopefully you find this review useful and have better luck than I did.

Absolutely awful company, I would be very carful trusting any of the good reviews on here as its basically a scam. The heating in my room never worked, along with my balcony door breaking yet they could not figure out how to fix it and did not want to pay to replace it. I tried many times to get them to fix both and they never bothered, everyone who works her either points to another department or tells you to log in in the portal and nothing gets done. Just handed over my keys and expecting a load of either headache, incompetency or just lack of empathy from this company and its staff when it comes to getting my deposit back as that's all I've experienced with cityrooms.
