Clean rooms and in excellent settings. The agents are kind and prepared and help you with any doubts or concerns. In particular I thank Mario for the patience shown in answering my countless questions... thanks!

Just awful

Just awful, don't do it. Repairs take far too long to solve (IF they can be bothered to get round to them..) and the rent is extortionate. We pay for a cleaning service (which shows up when it feels like it..and never does a good job..! We had to prompt them to actually use bleach..) and wifi which has NEVER worked properly. When we had mice they used GLUE TRAPS that glue them to the trap until they starve to death..! They also left that problem festering for weeks before any action was taken. Don't do it to yourself, you're better off trying your luck with spare room. OOH and P.S. they NEVER answer their phones, I had an emergency with my contract and called them several times over a few days to no avail. Try now!

Worst agent in London

Worst agent in London, if you can even call them an agent. They will refuse to take you for a viewing unless you give them a £500 "deposit" which is non-refundable. The agent I dealt with (Khai) was initially friendly, but then proceeded to tell me that if I do not pay this deposit, he had a line of people who would and that it would be a "waste of time" to take me to the viewing as the property would definitely be gone by the time I arrived. When I complained he told me that I had to leave as other clients would be made "homeless" if he did not act soon, which I found totally bizarre. I really cannot emphasise enough how bad this place is, full of useless employees which hate their jobs and aren't skilled enough for anything better. Utter crooks.

Horrible company, avoid at all costs - you've been warned!

My experience with City Rooms was shady from start to finish and I was treated with little respect throughout my tenancy. You will be told lies to enter into a contractual agreement and you will suffer for the remainder of your fixed term. City Rooms' procedure when it comes to complaints or issues is based on avoidance. My multiple efforts to get through to someone were dismissed and if I ever got a response, it was only focusing on what was in the interests of City Rooms and not answering my questions/concerns. City Rooms' managing people care only about one thing: your money. I hope the public authorities manage to shut them down and have the director disqualified.

If you're looking for great service experience then this is the place to visit. Starting off with the team, everybody is so friendly and understands exactly what you need. They take care of all proceedings. You can sit back and relax. They have so many offerings available for you, you'll never ever run out of options. The apartments are neat and tidy and fairly priced. The entire process is smooth. I would recommend it to all family members and friends. Really great service!

Hi Mario PioYour comments have been reviewed with our team of Property Managers. As I am sure you can appreciate, during your tenancy with us (2 years ago) were very trying times for everybody, with the lock-down restrictions and introduction of landlord and tenant acts along with covid regulations our Property Management team and Lettings team had been working tirelessly (& remotely) to ensure the many thousands of tenants we have a duty of care for are safe and secure.Tenants due to move in or out of properties back in those days had been our primary concern, we certainly did not want anyone at all homeless due to this terrible situation we all found ourselves in.Your case file has been reviewed; however, we are in a position to briefly comment on the points you raise. We are sorry for your disappointment. We are however surprised to learn that you mentioned a breach of "ASB-Harassment life-threat - dishonesty and coldness". Our understanding is that we made the decision to relocate you into another of our managed properties immediately after you reported having difficulties with one of your flatmates. We had subsequently offered you within 24 hours of you advising us of your difficulty two different property options to relocate. We received confirmation from you that you do not need to relocate as you are fine with the property and the room. You subsequently said, it is your flatmate the one that needed to be relocated. As for caring, we are an independent agency and London employer of over 12 years, quite simply this would not be the case if we did not care. We would point you to the many positive reviews here on Trust Pilot supporting this fact, Cityrooms and our team's care. Please feel free to contact us directly should you wish to discuss this matter further; however, we had many tenants and indeed landlords to ensure were supported to the best of our ability at those unprecedented times.Regards, Cityrooms

DO NOT PAY PRE-VIEWING FEES

I created an account just to leave this review. I was asked to pay an upfront fee to Cityrooms before any viewing could be arranged. Judging from the other negative reviews on Trustpilot, this does seem like an issue that has affected many other people as well. I have spoken with Shelter and the Property Redress Scheme, with the latter confirming that this is against their rules. For reference, you are able to refer to specific sections regarding pre-payment under the Accommodations Agencies Act 1953 and Consumer Act Rights 2015, to determine if these legal acts are applicable in your case. I wish you the very best.

RUN AWAY The scam of the century, especially for a first installation, this agency is governed by sales statistics: if you don't know the city, the real estate agents (or rather the housing dealers) will rub their hands with it to send you away in distant or even dangerous neighborhoods to exhaust their stock. As for the deposit, you have to hang on to get it back. His experiences with this agency will have at least allowed me to improve my level of administrative English vocabulary (via discussions and in writing emails).

Worst experience ever! As an inexperienced person (I was stupid for not inquiring beforehand), first room in London rented with them. Luckily only for 4 months of which I lived there for two and a half months at most. They showed me photos of a room, saying that it was not possible to visit it because it was occupied, which later, speaking to the roommates, did not prove to be true. When I moved in, however, it was a completely different room, similar but not the same, on another floor and smaller and without some things that should have been included. When I went to the agency to complain, they even made me look stupid and rude for doubting them. I won't add anything else as all of them have already been punished by life by working in that place karma will do the rest.

The worst agency I have ever known. Terrible service given by terrible staff. The agency's objective is not to help you find a good solution in the right time and with the right budget, but to push you to the limit of time by forcing you to always go and see the rooms with them, in their office, without taking you to any house, but wait until the last days to see you swimming in the mud. At that point they offer you a shitty room, which they pass off as gold, and in those circumstances, almost homeless and with no more time, you are forced to accept. All this confirmed by the employee who followed me (Lorenzo) who, upon my umpteenth request to go and see some rooms, replied: "I'll take you there but at that point you have to take it!". Alibito. If I could have given zero stars they certainly would have deserved it.

The five stars are for Thomas Paul

The five stars are for Thomas Paul, who was great at communicating and helped me find a suitable room. My experience with other agents wasn't necessarily great, they had a bit of an attitude. The admin workers were very kind when I went to pay my deposit and rent. Overall the process went smoothly and I do enjoy my room. The rooms go fast though, so you have to be quick.

Valerio was really helpful

When I arrived in London, I did not know how to look for a room. A friend of mine suggest me City Room in Stratford. I saw a really nice room in Mile End,so I reply to the advertisement and I took an appointment with Valerio G. in the agency. Valerio show me different options. He explained me everything about the area, flatmates, what was include and the rent. He was really helpful. I didn't even have to look at the property, cause I really like what he showed me. So I decided to move in one of the room that he showed me by computer. The room was really nice, my flatmates were from different countries and the location was excellent. One month later I changed job, it was quite faraway from my house. So I called back the agency and Valerio found another room for me, closer to my new job. He was amazing, cause look for a room especially when you are working, is quite stressful, but he was really fast and efficient. I recommend this agency and Valerio as agent. Thanks a lot

Unprofessional/frustrated agent

I called one of the agents about a room they advertised on SpareRoom and I was surprised how frustrated and annoyed this guy was. He appeared to have an Italian accent. During at least 90% of the call he talked continuously. Very rude and inappropriate. If you have a bad day, you don't take it out on your costumers.

TIME WASTERS..

TIME WASTERS... AVOID AVOID AVOID!!I wouldn't even give them 1 star if I didn't have too... I didn't even get to the stage of renting with City Rooms. I was booked (or atleast I thought I was) to view a room, I was told to go to their agency office based in East London travelling an hour to get there, only to be told that the agent hadn't actually got the keys for the viewing, and said she would find out if she could get them - she went away came back and said she couldn't get the keys on that day as another agent had taken them. but offered me a viewing on the following Monday, so I agreed but asked if in that time someone else wants it, its gone.. she replied 'yes' ... Monday morning came and she messaged me telling me the room had gone, surprise surprise! So I had literally wasted my time, they are incredibly unorganised and the fact that she hadn't booked the keys, because other agents see the same ad's... that is not the point , I had to my knowledge booked a viewing, and she had no keys ready for this... also property's listed aren't the actual price when you go to the agency which is misleading... the tell you they will give you an 'offer', making out they are doing you a friendly gesture... never ever again would I use this agency to find a property or even want to rent with them!!AVOID!

Not at all a good place to book your…

Not at all a good place to book your stay. Worst staff, not at provided proper information. Every important information is given at the signing of your contract where there is no turning back and you have to book the place. Do not get manipulated by the images shown on the wibsite , half of their property are not accoring to the detail given. Dont even pay 1 pound to book your room , view the rooms and then book. Staff are not friendly always making pity reasons to not show you the room and the allocation to move to new place within the cityrooms is not free also electricity and gas is not totally free, this all things are informed at the signing of the contract.

Avoid

1) They try to scam you into paying for everything that's damaged in the property. If you ever do rent anything from these people, please take your time to do a video of everything inside the flat when you get the keys. 2) They also show up completely unannounced. Had people coming into my room 3 times without any notice (I only know this because I have a security camera). One of those times I almost called the police before I realised it was people from the agency.3) Disorganised. Most of the time they will never respond to any of the emails you send. They'll just ignore it.

Wish I could do negative stars

Wish I could do negative stars. Everything that could possible be terrible about an agency they have. Their flats are overpriced and terrible. Dirty. I lived with them for nearly a year, we had mice and flooded bathrooms and disgusting facilities. They lie about bills being included, and once you've signed turn out you have to pay the bills by topping up and they will refund you half of that (which they never did). They post ads of rooms on spareroom that don't exist, get you to come down to their office to view it, and then try to stuff you with whatever garbage they have lying around. Avoid at all costs, never ever trust this agency.

ONE STAR IS TOO MUCH

ONE STAR IS TOO MUCH - STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY - THEY WILL STEAL ALL OF YOUR MONEY AND WONT GIVE IT YOU BACK. THEY LIE AND THEY PUT YOU IN THE WORST LIVING CONDITIONS. No hot water, No Wifi, they over populate you so instead of 3 people living in a 6 bedroomed house for example they will put families in so there will be at least 12!!! With a washing machine that doesnt work, a cooker that doesnt not work, lights that do not work, there were RATS and the drains are blocked so STINKING of SEWAGE for months. They refuse to replace locks despite previous dodgy tenants having keys so doors are left OPEN. They allow DRUG DEALERS to reside in the houses AND IMMIGRANTS WHO DO NOT EVEN HAVE VISAS. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. DREADFUL.

Stay far far away from this agency

If I could give this so called “agency” zero stars I would. I had been emailing a staff member called Michele Vali about viewing a room and had arranged an appointment to meet him in their offices at 11am on Tuesday the 23rd jan to view this property and he told me he had a few others that would suit me also. I flew from Ireland especially for this meeting with the intention of taking the property that I was most interested in as I start my new job in London at the start of next month. I arrived at the office only to be informed that michele was not there for our appointment and another man (sitting at second desk in corner to the right when you walk in) said he would help me. He informed me that the property I came to view was not available any more and that they only had a few that were available immediately despite boasting that they have 1900 rooms and most of their online adverts have “available immediately” on them. As I was asking questions he proceeded to take his phone out and literally ignore me while I was sitting there, he told me that I could have one room for a month and then maybe the one I wanted would be available next month. When I asked could I view it today he laughed and said not until next week at least but I can rent it based off the photos he had that were taken 6 months ago. He seemed agitated by me being there and seemed completely uninterested in helping me. In the end I said I was going to have a think and go for a coffee and he didn’t even look up from his phone to acknowledge I was leaving. Running a business with employees who don’t turn up for appointments and then are so completely unprofessional and rude is a disgrace. I have a huge number of friends coming over to London and am part of many Irish in London fb groups and I can assure you I will be warning absolutely everyone I can against using city rooms.

These people are scammers and are to be …

These people are scammers and are to be avoided! They advertise rooms that are not actually available as fishing ads in order to get you into their office at 144 Cambridge Heath Rd, London E1 5QJ where you will be shown equally expensive but much lower quality rooms and get pressured into signing deals that are not in your interests. The advertisers are on a commission to get you into their lair aka office so the others can 'work on you' to get you so see and sign up for expensive low quality rooms. Why do you think they also note all the various languages they speak? It's because non Londoners are far easier to scam!
