We have rented room through city rooms, they are the worst agency we have ever been with. Absolute nightmare. They are cheat, you will never get your deposit back they will find a way to not give your deposit back. They are bully’s and take advantage of people who are vulnerable look for easy targets. Please do not use this company they will ruin your stay in London. They are total nightmare. All they know is money and how take more money from you with false and manipulative and fraudulent ways. Please use any agency in London but not them. They need to be investigated by all property regulatory bodies to stop doing what they are doing to tenants. We are going to take this up with bodies, Such as The property Ombudsman (TPO), property redress scheme (PRS). We will do that for the way we have been treated by City Rooms.

I'm a professional musician looking for upmarket shared accommodation in the central area and agent Andrea found me a very conveniently located property in London Bridge. I gave a small deposit of 300 pounds to "secure it" before the viewing. Went for the viewing a few days later and ended up not taking it because it was a fifth floor. My 300 deposit was refunded next day. I didn't end up renting from them but the service was very professional, straight forward, agent was friendly and I got my 300 deposit back right away with no hassle. Great communication. My experience with City Rooms was appalling. I strongly advise you to avoid this company and book with someone else. Trusting City Rooms was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. The original listing promised a "fully equipped" kitchen with "nice and friendly" housemates in a five-bedroom house with two nice bathrooms in Wood Green. However, when I arrived, an existing tenant warned me that the other housemates were scary and one of them had been stealing from other people in the house, using drugs, making threats, and blasting music all night. The "equipped kitchen" was empty except for a few appliances (there weren't even forks or plates), and the dishwasher and washing machine were broken and smelled disgusting. One of the two bathrooms was actually a part of someone's private room, so everyone had to share a single shower. The doors of the house were also left unlocked and ajar at night. I decided to stay with a family friend for a few days because the situation seemed unsafe. While I was out of the house, I wrote an email to City Rooms expressing my concerns about a tenant who was possibly going to jail. Without consulting me, City Rooms forwarded the email (with my name attached) to the tenant, who got angry and tried to break into my bedroom, damaging the door in the process. He also threatened to "break [my] neck and throw [me] out the window" according to one of the tenants who I maintained contact with over WhatsApp. If I had been there, I would have been in serious danger. When I contacted City Rooms about the incident, they refused to admit that they put me in danger, but confirmed that they had forwarded the email. Initially, they offered to move me to another location, but after ignoring my messages for days, they admitted that there was nowhere available that met my criteria for price, cleanliness, and proximity to my office. I had to stay in a hotel, which was very expensive. After multiple calls with their director, Jorge Sanchez, he agreed to refund my deposit and all of the money I paid for my first month's rent except for 300 GBP. This was not a fair deal considering they made my home unsafe, but it was better than what they were legally required to offer me according to the fine print of the contract. After a few weeks of silence with no money coming through, Jorge informed me that he had changed his mind and would be keeping everything except for my deposit, which he was contractually required to return. He even refused to refund the deposit in full because of a peculiarity of the way I booked that had me transferring from one room to another after a the first few days. I could have taken them to court, but I didn't think it was worth the legal fees and effort. In my last conversation with Jorge before he permanently stopped communicating, he told me that the whole situation was of my own making and that I should really be taking responsibility for all of this. I eventually received my deposit (in part), but it was a terrible and stressful experience. City Rooms lied about the nature of the listing, stole my money, and endangered my life. Stay away from this company and warn anyone you know who's moving to London to avoid it like the plague. If I could rate this company 0 stars, I would.

They are thieves. The billing estimate they gave me was 50% less than what they said the actual bill was after I moved out. Thereby making me lose part of my deposit. They do this intentionally so their apartment looks cheaper

Stay away from this company!

Whatever you do; stay away from this company. The experience with them has been an absolute nightmare. I got a room in a flat where there was another tenant with a Section 21 against him because he had been abusive towards another tenant and they didn't inform about this. After living in the flat for some time I got in the same situation where this tenant threatened to hurt me and said discriminating things about my sexuality. It got so bad that I got in a situation where I had to barricade myself in my room and call the police which in didn't do anything and I had to flee from the property and had nowhere to go. Cityrooms refused to help and said that if they were going to help that I had to pay money. After some time having to stay on hotel, at friends I got another room which they said they would give me for the same rent as a goodwill which was 758 pounds for a tiny, small little single room with a single bed and could have been a wardrobe. Another tenant in the flat said other tenants had paid between 500-600 pounds for the room. The room was dirty when I moved in and the whole room was covered in white powder which then turn out to be poision for bed bugs. The window in room was broken and it wasnt possible to close it. I emailed Cityrooms with pictures ans informed about this and up until today I havent got a reply and it was more than a month ago. I pay my rent and bills as agreed and according to the contract but every month they send reminders of different amounts saying that I havent paid enough. They send electricity bills 1-2 times a month with different amounts to all tenants but we never get to see where these amounts come from and which normally is paid quarterly. I have been in contact with several peoplw who have had nightmares with Cityrooms. All 4 other tenants in the house are feeling unwell and want to move out from the flat and have had the same experience. I cant understand how this company can still operate. What they are doing is illegal. We are a couple of people who will rapport them to the council because this company needs to be stopped. Whatever you do, find another reliable agency to rent from..

Dripping ceiling

Leakage occurred in my room 2 days ago. Water started dripping from the ceiling CONSTANTLY.First I called the emergency number to report the issue but no answer. It's already been 2 days, number of plumbers who came to check out the situation and the problem stays the same.Apart from that there is mold on the wall, boiler issue and electricity bills which go through the roof.Stay AWAY from this agency.
