They were also very helpful in arranging access to the flat which we were very grateful for because we reside in New Zealand. The Putney team led by Stephen have provided an excellent letting service for some years now. We have a one bed let through Putney and they have consistently found good tenants and negotiated competitive rental levels. We find their reminders through the tenancy very helpful. Stephen is very willing to provide current market information, which helps us to make good decisions.

We have dealt with the Tower Bridge, SE1, office over many years, with their Letting Department and most recently their Sales Department. Both have always been proactive, efficient, helpful and pleasant.At the end of last year, our flat was sold by Neil Wilson and his team. Throughout the process, we were advised and updated honestly, put in touch with a very good painter and a first rate firm of solicitors. No complaints or criticism.

Check insurance policy before moving in

Property management team of chestertons is a total disappointment. Even in emergent conditions instead of trying to be responsive, they are counting pennies. They left me in a drainage water flooded flat without any support, advising putting the heaters to max and opening the windows. In the fight of building and flat managements’ insurances, what you experience is totally meaningless to them. Their main concern is serving insurance companies. What I’ve learned is, getting and checking the insurance policy before you move in a rental is a MUST!!

Although the commission was higher than the other estate agents, we felt we were in safe hands. The market was quiet so took a bit longer to sell than normal. We had regular viewings throughout this period and with the introduction of Roberto, we got our sale. Roberto is a great communicator and kept us well informed throughout our viewings and the all important sale. Overall, it was a price worth paying to get the sale at the right price at the right time.

We had a negative experience with Chestertons Islington when selling our house. Firstly they valued it too high and didn’t bring people on viewings. When we asked them to bring viewers they said the price was too high, which was bizarre as they had priced it. This wasted our time while the flat sat on the market. When we called to prompt them they were condescending and unhelpful. Throughout, the agent would repeatedly ask us the same questions after viewings about the basics e.g. if there was a chain. He seemed proud of misleading the buyer by implying there was another buyer. The worst bit was on completion day when the Chestertons buyer didn't pay and the team seemed unbothered. There was a chain of 6 properties waiting on our sale. Our Chestertons’s agent had recommended a solicitor to our buyer, but he was so incompetent that he was unaware that the buyer hadn't paid him. By early afternoon on completion day the buyer hadn’t paid and our agent appeared to lose interest. He went on a viewing and stopped picking up his phone, whilst we were left to deal with the extremely irate chain. Eventually the buyer paid at 3pm, but only 2 out of the 6 houses were able to complete. The most proactive and helpful the Chestertons agent was in the whole process was when he wanted us to write a google review, just after exchange. So I have finally got around to posting this one as I think it may balance out the positive reviews that others may have been encouraged to write.

Called and spoken to people online and over the phone and I’ve still not heard anything other than we’ll get back to you. Or you’ll receive it tonight.
